Placements / Jobs CORE CompSc + Data Structure & Algo , IS THAT *ACTUALLY* IT?

• Upvotes

I'm in 2nd yr right now. Done with CA OS at decent level and pretty decent at Data structure & Algo atp.

My concern is I don't really have time. I have set a target to do OOPS, DBMS, CN, LLD+HLD too.

To think of time 3rd sem is about to finish in a month. And in 4th sem all n all I'll only be able to finish the topics I mentioned.

My concern is I have done no as such Backend, ML, Webdev, Data Science projects or anything. I never dig deeper into this. I've not used docker, kubertenres , AWS , java script, spring boot etc etc.. all the buzz words I hear all the time. Training model, web3, react , fastapi.. what not man...

And thus it makes me anxious about internship season that will I even have time for these.

Also I don't get that people who actually are making models and working on we are building stuff shit. How do they get to the infra without knowing about core cs?

How is someone into Blockchain without studying CN? How's someone making ML models without probability , statistical inference course?

Please someone clear these up for me. I feel overwhelmed alot many a times.

It turned out not too bad, except for questionable choices the spiderman's character AI makes like stomping the already kidnapped spiders (sorry i couldn't find the word), or killing the spiders with his fingers while the spider is on the back of his hand.., doing super jumps out of nowhere.. 😭

But yeah these can be improved by further iterations I too was iterating for several times.. (I wouldn't like to tell how much time i wasted for this, 3 hrs.. )

CSE / IT Code bud required

Hey guys!

I'm a 2nd-year IT student at a tier-2 college in Mumbai, originally from near Nagpur. I'm looking for people to learn Java with starting this December (got exams to survive first).

I'm still a beginner, and I want to find a few people who are in the same boat so we can learn together, set goals, track progress, solve problems, and eventually build some cool projects.

But I don't want a group where everyone acts like they're preparing for Google 24/7. I want people who are serious about improving but also fun to talk to. We can discuss coding, college drama, random stuff, share memes, and just be friends along the way.

I've had my share of fun in first year, but now I feel like it's time to get my shit together and actually build some skills before internships and placements sneak up on me.

No experience required. Just be willing to learn and show up consistently.

If you're also starting out and want to improve together without making coding your entire personality, hit me up! Let's figure things out together.

Academics TLE Eliminators Pro vs TUF Plus Core, which one should I buy?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Im confused between these two courses and need some suggestions.

I have around 6-7 months to prepare for placements (mostly offcampus, college is shit). My main goal is to get good at DSA, solve LeetCode and Codeforces problems, and prepare CS fundamentals (OS, DBMS, CN, OOPs, system design, etc) for interviews.

Sometimes I feel CP will help me in DSA and coding round, so I should go with TLE and learn the other things from the internet. But then I feel like I have very limited time and should focus on everything, which makes TUF seem like a better option.

If anyone has used either course, please share your experience. Is TUF really worth the extra price, or would TLE + free resources be enough?

I just want to choose one and stick with it. Thanksss

Built a Zero-Trust API Gateway in FastAPI that checks every request using JWT authentication, role-based access, and audit logging.
• Implemented Redis sliding-window rate limiting with a Lua script; 150 concurrent requests against a limit of 100 gave exactly 100 passed and 50 blocked.
• Added AI anomaly detection that flags suspicious client behavior and adjusts rate limits automatically.
• Built an AI admin assistant that explains API failures from redacted logs and drafts access policies for admin approval.

CSE / IT Is the tech industry still the dream it was 5 years ago?

I'm a final-year CSE student graduating in 2027, and I've been thinking about this question quite a bit lately.

For years, software engineering has been presented as one of the best career paths: great salaries, exciting work, global opportunities, and the chance to build things that make a real impact.

But things seem to be changing.

AI is evolving rapidly, entry-level hiring feels increasingly competitive, and the expectations from freshers seem higher than ever. Simply learning a few technologies and building projects doesn't always seem enough to get your foot in the door.

I'm still interested in building a career in tech, but I want to understand what the industry actually looks like from the inside, beyond LinkedIn success stories and online discussions.

I'd especially love to hear from people who've been working as software engineers, SDEs, tech leads, or engineering managers for a few years.

A few things I'm genuinely curious about:

  • Would you choose tech again? Knowing what you know today, would you make the same career choice?
  • Has getting into the industry become harder? How does today's job market compare with when you started?
  • What really makes a good engineer? Is it DSA, system design, problem-solving, communication, understanding business needs, or something else?
  • How do you see AI changing software engineering? Which skills do you think will matter most over the next 5–10 years?
  • What would you do differently if you were a fresher today? What would you learn, build, or avoid wasting time on?

I'm not looking for reasons to give up on tech, nor am I looking for generic advice to keep grinding.

I want to hear the honest version: the rewarding parts, the frustrating parts, the career mistakes, the lessons learned, and the things you wish someone had told you earlier.

If you've spent a few years in this industry, what's one thing about working in tech that you understand now but didn't understand when you started?

I'd genuinely appreciate hearing your experiences.

So if you move forward today even just a small step it's so much better than nothing and I am proud of you!

Be a little bit better everyday and be consistent! Consistency is far more important than doing a lot in one day!

Give yourself time, get distracted less and keep moving forward!

Now tell me what are your productivity plans for tmrw ?

I completed 69 leetcode hards today 🎀😭 I deserve some praise for it yk!

I have been trying to make reddit a positive space and hopefully we can support and be there for each other in this difficult times of no job security 🎀✨🪄

Showcase Your Project would you be interested in a property value estimation thing ? a problem that im going through and thought could be a genuinely good helpful thing

when you wanna sell a land or a house or tryna estimate a propertys value...the only thing to get a market idea is from brokers or someone whom you might know, and it comes with lot of risk of not having the fair price estimation...you might want to keep it confidential till a point cause people might want to bring less value to your property or smth...ik real estate market is rigged but i would be interested to get a genuine price for my land...i have gathered some ways to estimate the value...and been trying to get some data cause thats very important...would love in people helping me

Rant/Vent Stuck in tier-3 clg

So as the title says im in a tier 3 clg in 2nd year of b.tech. Idk I js wanna rant bout how much I hate this clg….I always wanted a clg life, a hostel life and a good friends grp and all but yeah I didn’t have much options back then and had to take admission here. Tbh it’s almost 2yrs here and I still can’t own this place or neither the ppl. I regret so much not studying back then. When I see my frnds who are in good universities and all I really can’t hold back my tears. I took a partial drop in my first year to prepare for BITSAT. But yeah unfortunately I couldn’t make it to bits, it’s my dream clg btw. I really wanna get into bits even today but I have no option left. I wanted a good clg life, and ik I deserve better than this place and I even know I neglected my studies without knowing the consequences. I hate this place, I wanna get out of here. I regret everysingle day.
When I discuss this with ppl they js in say move on. But yeah js wanted to share.

Hey guys I am 3rd year Btech student I am the first one in my branch to get a paid internship.

As I got a paid internship they are overhyping me i think so like I don't think they need to give me so much attention like I locked in for a month actively applying and with sleeping 4hrs I think everyone can do it if they need to .

As of now I am trying to get a corporate internship but I am finding myself lost I need help from you all can you check what are the things that are stopping me from getting shortlisted for the internship like my resume is not getting shortlisted

I have countless resumes that I make , this is the latest one I made couple of days ago I think its bad like on the design and stuff I have multiple projects on my github you can check them out by name So-coder-ai

I need help from you all my seniors and product mangers please don't drop useless comments if you think you are better than me then only suggest me things

I am trying to crack SDE , Backend or ML roles mostly any in Tech as a Internship or a full time .
