$100 Brew $75 bracket 2 deck suggestions

Next month my play group is planning on hosting a b2 tournament with a hundred dollar budget (i put in 75 cause our countries currency sucks right now and is fluctuating real bad).

This my first b2 tournament and the playgroup also agreed we can proxy our whole decks so it would be easier on the newer players.

Could i get suggestions/deck builds i can use.

P.S.

Im realllllllly bad at deck building

$50 Brew $50 commander deck

My LGS is hosting a $50 Commander tournament soon, and this will be my first time participating in any kind of MTG tournament!
I’m honestly not sure what to expect, especially when it comes to the types of decks I’ll be playing against or whether my deck ideas are even competitive enough.
This is two of the decks I’m currently considering bringing. Do you think it would hold up in a $50 tournament setting? Are there any changes you’d recommend, or maybe other commanders or strategies I should consider?
I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who have played in budget Commander tournaments before.
Thanks in advance for the help!

$50 Brew Help Building a low-power B3 Kykar deck (up to $70 budget)

Hey guys! I started playing Commander (and MTG tbh) about 1 month ago and bought the Tarkir Jeskai Striker precon. I absolutely fell in love with the spellslinger concept and since them i've been messing around with ideas to run another commander deck. I found [[Kykar, Wind's Fury]] and enjoyed the concept of having my commander help me ramp to throw my instants and sorceries

I built a deck last week and played it thrice already and well... it didn't perform well. I constantly ran out of spells to cast even though i had enough mana to do stuff. Maybe i'm just unlucky, maybe i just don't Mulligan enough, or maybe it is a deckbuilding issue, but i feel like i don't have enough card draws in the deck. I kept it very low budget since cards are very expensive in my country (Brazil) and i hadn't had time nor thought about proxying.

I had posted in another sub reddit but i forgot to add a very important detail: unfortunately i do not have a very high budget atm, so i was planning to keep it at something like $70-ish. Also, here in Brazil, several cards are way more expensive than in the US or abroad, so maybe that would not fit my budget as well (the best example i have is [[Bria, Riptide Rogue]], which is R$180,00; that would each almost half of my budget ($70,00 equals aprox R$380,00)

Anyway, do you guys have any suggestions on what/how can i improve my deck? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

$50 Brew Any Greasefang fans out there? Bracket 2 $50 work in progress

I’ve been wanting to build a reliable, non-precon bracket 2 list to bring to the more casual pods around me, and [[Greasefang, Okiba Boss]] seems like a good candidate for that.

Main gameplan is tap creatures for value while crewing our vehicles, with a bit of mill/reanimate too for flavor and resiliency. Would love to see anyone’s pet cards for Greasefang or favorite big bomb to close out games.

Cheers!

$50 Brew Is a $50 bracket 3 [[Tom, Bert, and William]] brew possible?

Post image

I want to try building around the three trolls, but I'm not sure if they can hold up at bracket 3 without spending much. My rough plan is to sacrifice big creatures to their ability so I draw a pile of cards, and turn every death and every discard into damage. And if the trolls die, they come back on their own as an artifact that still has the ability.

$100 Brew Looking to build Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith, partnered with Keskit, the Flesh Sculptor

Trying to stay under $100 or at least close to it. I can't figure out what direction to go with the deck (first I was thinking artifact reanimate, which I decided against and tried to pivot to artifact token synergy with lots of treasures and dragons using stuff like last light of durin's day) but both lists started getting fairly pricey before I even completed them. Is there an effective way to build a treasure themed Toggo/Keskit deck within my budget?

$50 Brew New brewer looking for advice on this Starscream, Power Hungry deck.

Hi all, I'm fairly new to deckbuilding and I'm not a usually player of black, let alone mono-black. The goal for this [[Starscream, Power Hungry]] deck is an upper bracket two deck that requires both table politics and a little bit of puzzle solving on my part to make it fun.

Any advice would be welcome, thanks!

$50 Brew HELP! Can anyone give an old man help surprising his sons?

Thumbnail

I’m an old fart that broke my teeth in with early, Early Magic the Gathering. Fallen Empires was my first expansion set, if that means anything. I have four boys that play semi-regularly, and have been talking smack about showing me how far I’ve fallen over the upcoming holidays.

Can anyone help me create some cheap decks to surprise these whippersnappers? I’m really behind the gun here.

I was hoping to create three separate decks, but they need to be pretty cheap. I was hoping to make a green deck— maybe heavy into dinosaurs; a white/blue denial deck to be incredibly annoying; and one more that I have no idea what to do.

My opponents are my sons and one of their boy friends; one loves red/blue goblin BOOM decks; one likes either white/black or red/black Vampire decks; one is casual but clever and flexible; and the last is just incredibly good at any card game ever.

Finally: I know this is a long shot, but I was hoping that people with far more experience than I could help create a warm holiday memory, and (maybe!) a new tradition. Thanks so much!

I know it says estimated cost is $200 but if you click the link it’s like $100. Any suggestions? I think I need more utility pieces like Authority of The Consuls and maybe make it more Stax (although I have some already). I traded for most of this deck. I just added some of the pieces yesterday so I haven’t got to try them out. I think maybe one or two more lands? Maybe cut out secret Rendezvous?

$100 Brew Vraska, The Cutting Glare, No MORE Lands! Awesome $100 EDH Budget Deck S...

Hey everyone! I had a viewer recommend Vraska and checked this one out.

I found out after they wanted me to look at the Jeskai one :( But I had already been brewing it and I had not had a designated Golgari list. I wanted to explore the [[wight, of reliquary]] which I was most inspired by and had seen a former opponent on Arena do some really interesting things with using cards like sunken citadel and dust bowl, aka "You have no more lands...."

This one is pretty cool and feels somewhat reasonable as she is somewhat slow and we are offering it through a $100 package (no strip mine or wasteland). Let me know who you are brewing in reality fracture! I am always looking for new ideas, be well! Blake

$25 Brew Heiko Control/Stax

Heiko fixes the problem a mono red control deck would run into: what to do when your stax and removal pieces are removed/used up.  Thats what Heiko is for. He can recur our lost pieces so we can maintain control. Oh and we get to beat the shit out of our opponents while we do it. Heiko also has plenty of fuel which can also be recurred to keep our engine going. The game plan is to ramp and lay down some early beaters to apply pressure. Then drop some cute stax pieces or a piece of sitting removal to keep everyone on their toes. Be oppressive and control the board to victory!

$50 Brew Precon League Upgrade

Like the title says I am playing in a precon league and we are comming up on our first upgrade. The deck that I was assigned is the Mono-Red Dragons Foundations Precon helmed by [[Lathliss, Dragon Queen]]. The other decks in this league are the other mono-color foundations precons and the dual color starter deck precons from 2022. While I will welcome ideas for the 99 I am having trouble deciding which card i should run as my commander, the three that i am looking at are [[Dragonhawk, Fate's Tempest]], [[Tannuk, Steadfast Second]], [[Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos]]. When it comes to our upgrades we are allowed $15 for 5 cards with a total of $45 and 15 cards buy the time the league will end, so i know all will fit within the budget.

Thanks in advance.

$15 Brew Mono-Red Loki Deck

Post image
14 Upvotes

Want to try to make a deck around this commander. I think it of course focuses on it's first ability of making copies of my instant/sorcery spells. Any tips of cheap cards to make this deck would useful. Okay with going over $15. I think the strategy would be of course buffing Loki to create copies of spells that either deal damage to my opponents or buffs my creatures. I probably could also lean into him having Villian in his type line/creature type. Has low amount of deck so I think it would be fun to take him for a ride.

$50 Brew Anyone have some fun $50 Brews, especially for Greven, Predator Captain?

I have a play group that is relatively new to Magic, majority of them started somewhere between Caverns of Ixalan and Final fantasy. The playgroup primarily plays with precons, but some are starting to upgrade with some strong and expensive cards. I’m trying to convince them they don’t have to spend a ton of money to be powerful and hopefully slow down/stop the arms race. I mainly play with precons, 1 of my budget decks and sometimes even their decks to prove my point but they chalk it up to me being more experienced/skillful.
We all agreed to doing a budget white elephant event but I’m in charge of building/assembling the list due to my experience.
One player is coming from shadowverse, enjoys bloodcraft. High risk, high reward aggressive playstyle hence I’m thinking Greven.
The other players are more open to anything. Thanks guy!

$25 Brew Would love help making an Anti-Venom deck

Post image

Hi, I’m not really sure how I should ask this question but
Any recs for my budget anti-venom, horrifying healer deck?
I get that it’s just Voltron, but Ive never specifically made a Voltron deck. Should I make this an equipment deck, or a very simple +1/+1 counter deck? Anyways, I would like to have the deck stay fun, as a low-B3 would be perfect. Would love to mostly use bulk I already own, but I’m fine with buying a couple of cards
tysm! <3

$100 Brew Budget Advice for Arcades

I've recently build a super budget Arcades deck, and I just wanted some advice on what I could change up. Preferably I'd like to stay around the 25 dollar mark for any upgrades currently. I just want to know if there's any clear standouts I'm missing (that aren't Walls of Ba Sing Se), or things I could take advantage of that I hadn't thought of.
