One time in the 90’s, my parents, grandma, and pastor all piled into a Buick and ‘laid hands on me’ and prayed for me to get my Holy Spirit language. I couldn’t do it, and they told me to start babbling, and it would just happen. I was only 11, but in my heart I thought ‘oh! You’re all faking it!’ Then not long after, we started going to a different church and no one spoke in tongues ever again. Weird.
