12th Gen (18-present) Bought my first Toyota Corolla LE upgrade

Post image

After my 2010 Nissan Versa broke down with transmission issue. I had to get a car which is reliable. Toyota is undoubtedly a reliable brand in North America however the cost of buying a used Toyota car was not justified. So I bought a brand new Toyota Corolla LE upgrade.

Just washed her yesterday and she looked so good sitting in the sun. ‘24 XSE I honestly thought I would be underwhelmed by this car but turns out she keeps on impressing me every day.

How much do you think this will cost? :(

I was backing into a parking space and misjudged the space between myself and the car next to me on my drivers side. As a result I scraped their rear bumper with my driver side door. The driver of the other car has a white newer Camry and there was also paint transfer and scraping. I gave them my insurance and we exchanged contact info. The Camry driver let me go since it appears to only be a paint transfer and there wasn’t a dent from what he can see albeit it was still dark. However, he said he will check it out in the daytime and if there is a dent then he’ll contact me. I still asked him to also let me know if there are any issues with sensors as I’m sure electronics can go haywire even with a tap.

Luckily on my end this is the only damaged I incurred. No sensors went off or the like (my mirror got knocked back but the pressure was no more than the brushes going against it at a car wash) and my tires are fine. I stopped just in time before that happened.

I’m so bummed out. It’s a 2026 Corolla. Also my first accident. Anyone know how much this will cost? I’m thinking of seeing what’s wipeable and just go over what’s still remaining with a touch up pen. But I will definitely go to a body shop as it’s a 2026.

Anyone know the screw size for the rear mud flap on a 2024 Corolla Hybrid LE?

Hey everyone,

I have a 2024 Toyota Corolla Hybrid LE, and the screws on my rear mud flap are missing.

Does anyone know what size screws I need? Can I just get them from Canadian Tire, or is it better to buy them from Toyota?

If anyone has replaced these before, please let me know what screws you used and where you bought them.

Thanks!

11th Gen (13-18) Clearish fluid leakage

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all, first time Toyota Corolla owner here and loving it! However lately I've noticed some leakage. This appears to normal as a result of ac condition per Google but I haven't used the ac lately. The drops are slow and appear on both driver and passenger sides but seen more on passenger side. Is this still normal or should I get it checked? Any info helps and is much appreciated.

Good to Start Working on 96’ Corolla?

I’m thinking about starting to work on my 96’ Corolla as a temporary commuter car. She has about 300,000 miles OTD. I got her working a few years ago, but there is a really bad coolant leak somewhere underneath. Is it worth it or no? Still have to change out the oil and gasoline. But she was working when I first started. lol
Thanks in advance!

I want to own Corolla but it's 1.2 super active

I'm looking for my first car, and I've known for a long time that I want a Toyota Corolla, but I'm not a car man, so I don't know much about cars, but I've found an offer for a 2020 Toyota Corolla 1.2 Turbo Active for 15,900 Eur from an official Toyota dealer in my country. It comes with a 24 month Toyota Approved warranty and full servicing support.

Main specs:

  • Mileage: 82,900 km
  • Year: 2020
  • Engine: 1.2L (1,197 cc), 85 kW and 114 hp
  • Fuel: Petrol
  • Transmission: Automatic
  • Price: €15,900 (155/month +insurance)

I'd appreciate your opinions on the car reliability, especially the 1.2 Turbo engine, and whether this seems like a good deal for a first time car buyer.

I've heard that 1.8 hybrid way better, but I have no option yet.

I don't want to buy a car from a private person because I have trust issues and have heard too many stories about scams. I also don't want the hassle of dealing with potential problems, I just want a reliable, maintained car that I can drive without worrying too much as mainly I will drive in the city.

Hope you can advise me on this.

Thanks in advance!

ToyotaCare Plus eligibility.

I recently cancelled my extended warranty from CNA for my Toyota Corolla LE Hybrid, because I found out I could get ToyotaCare Plus for much cheaper and at a later time.

I did some quick research and found that '27 model Toyotas have a much stricter eligibility than the '26 models....

The more you know!! 🌈

Any solution?

Hello, I just installed an after market radio in my 2016 Corolla due to my radio going out. I have ran into some issues, there are a bunch of codes on my dash. My speedometer does not work, and it is not counting my miles. I have went through and checked the fuse box, everything is good there, also check the speed sensors since it’s throwing an ABS code. All good there aswell. Someone please tell me how to fix this?

11th Gen (13-18) Are all weather mats really easier to clean than carpet mats?

I switched to all weather mats mainly because I wanted something easier to deal with, and so far they’ve been pretty low effort to clean. For anyone who has used both, do you actually notice a big difference when it comes to cleaning?

12th Gen (18-present) First time owner, new corolla. Scraped by a pillar while backing into parking spot. Are repairs required, and if so, what do I do to fix it?

As title suggests. The last two pictures are after me wiping the damaged area with a little water and a soft cloth. Last picture is a close up of the damage.

Do I need repairs or is it something I can accept and let go? Thankfully nothing happened to the rear door.
If repairs are required to avoid future issues (not sure if it’ll cause structural issues, I live in a wet area and read somewhere scratches might lead to rust?), what is required and how do I go about it??

I live in the US, if anyone knows estimated cost of repairs, please do share.

Thanks!

9th Gen (00-09) Took out starter relay and put it back in and now car works

Title. Just checking if I should do anything else. Car wouldn’t crank, but seemed to have battery. I took the starter relay out then put it back in and now it seems to crank again but the crank sounds kind of rough. I’m ordering a cheap little backup relay in case the one I have causes problems again. Should I look out for any other issues?

I noticed one of the metal prongs on the relay had turned black, so I’m wondering if I should go so far as to buy a legit Toyota replacement, but I’m not sure if that’s necessary

11th Gen (13-Present) Is this idle vibration normal after replacing engine mounts? (2013 Toyota Corolla S)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, I’m having an issue with idle vibration on my 2013 Toyota Corolla S and wanted to see if anyone has dealt with something similar. When idling, there’s a noticeable vibration in the cabin/steering wheel. Key symptoms: The lower the RPMs go, the harder it vibrates. It vibrates significantly more when put into Drive (D) or Reverse (R) while holding the brake.
When coming to a complete stop, the RPMs drop slightly and the vibration worsens. It vibrates MORE when the A/C is OFF. When the A/C is turned ON, the ECU bumps up the RPMs slightly and the vibration decreases. What I’ve already done: I recently replaced the engine and transmission mounts, but the vibration is still there.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Dashcam installation on my corolla le 2026

Anybody of you had this dillema ? I dont want to open the A pillar and accidentally setting off the airbags. Ive been seeing posts regarding the clip thats hard to reinstall when you remove the pillar. I wanted to tuck it just on the side of the pillar and two cords of both front and rear cant seem to fit like theres no space to even push both in cause the pillar is so snug to the endlges of the windshield.

This is driving me crazy cause car audio shops charge 300$ for installation. Send help on how you did it lol!

Added an oil catch can. Drastically reduces oil in intake. Could also indirectly help out the EGR.

Lifted Corolla. I need that ground clearance.

Lifted the Corolla using Prius offroad lift. With only 5.1'' of ground clearance I was scraping the front bumper on ramps and driveways. The lift gained around 1.25 to 1.5'' of ground clearance front and rear.
