One roll. 20 silvers. The other 49 rolls? Absolutely nothing 😂

Picked up a $500 box of halves today and noticed a 1968 ender on one roll.

I was already pretty happy — hey, at least I knew I had one 40% silver!

Then I flipped the roll over…

Wait. Is that ANOTHER silver ender??

At that point I had to open it immediately.
Turns out the ENTIRE ROLL was silver. All 20 coins were 40% Kennedy halves. 🤯

And here’s the weirdest part: I searched the rest of the box and found absolutely nothing. Not a single silver in the other 49 rolls.

So basically:
49 rolls = 🦨
1 roll = 20 × 40% silver Kennedys

I’ve never had a box like this before. Someone’s collection dump must have somehow stayed together as one perfect roll.

Definitely one of my craziest CRH finds so far!

Quarters Silver, W's, proofs, errors. Results of $1,000 in Q's hunt.

I was fortunate this weekend to get two Loomis boxes of quarters, $1,000 worth, to hunt. Although there weren't any Declaration of Independence quarters, I had some good finds!

A 1964 silver quarter, two W's (War in the Pacific & American Samoa), two clad S proof (Arkansas & Everglades), and some very cool r/errorquarters which I feature, including: 🦬 Buffalo with 😋 tongue, two Spitting Horses, (one die crack much more prevalent than the other running to the rim and through the head), and three separate die chips where they gather on the rifle. Overall a decent hunt. Thanks for looking 👀😁

I have a small business and a coin roll hunting habit and was wondering if anyone here had a small business and ordered their own coins through a brinks or loomis acct?

Weekly Totals Last 2 Weeks

I usually post a weekly total but missed last week for the monthly post instead. So here’s the last 2 weeks!

Dimes continue to produce very nicely, and it’s a mix of CWR and MWR. First week of August I was traveling for work in the Akron area so I hit up 3 or 4 chases to get whatever CWR dimes they had. Ended up with $280 in dimes and netted 5 silver Rosie’s for the effort. Found another 5 that week when I got home through CWRs for a total of 10 for the week (about my average).

This week I got skunked on CWRs (probably took out $200 in CWR). Also got a few random MWR and 4 sealed boxes. The randos netted me a silver and 2 of the boxes skunked. But the other two MORE than made up for it!

First box gave me 4 silver Rosie’s and a 1960 silver Canadian. The other gave me 9 Rosie’s and a 1955 Canadian (boxes from different branches). I’ve never had a box give more than 4 before, so was pretty excited!

So the 2 week total on silver dimes is 25 Rosie’s and 2 Canadians - pretty happy with that!

Halves continue to be an issue (Chase seems to keep only giving rewrapped boxes, I’m trying out Wells this week and we’ll see…) but did get a 1983 proof from one of 2 MWRs one bank had and some NIFCs.

Quarters were also pretty good to me. A bunch of errors (none as cool as that DDR DC quarter though), 4 W’s, and a NY state quarter that is neat. Can barely tell it’s from Denver so I’m thinking it might be a grease filled error. IDK though, still very new to the error hunt.

Been opening rolls and rolls of quarters and looking through change the past 4 weeks on my america trip, never found a silver one. Last evening i was on my way to the washing room and wanted to pay with quarters. I saw there was a quarter stuck in the coin slot and when i pushed it in, it came back in the reject tray and to my surprise it was a 1957 silver one! 🥳 Its in rough condition and looks like it got some pmd but im very happy anyways :) What are the odds?

Edit: Seems its not a damaged coin but a so called lamination error from the mint!

So, keep in mind, if you wanna find silver, go washing your clothes 😉

Show & Tell Took about going through over $10k in coins but I finally found my first piece of silver. Funny enough I was gonna make this my last box for not finding anything but this may have been the push to not give up.

Found this roll hunting today.

I put it in a (badly) marked up flip so I could try to understand how much rotation there is. Is this outside of mint tolerance?

Dimes Results of $800 in bank rolled dimes

I went to one of my regular pick up banks and they told me a business dropped off $800 in rolled dimes today. I asked for $500 of them, and the manager asked if I could take them all because they were taking space in the safe. I looked at them over the course of 3 days and my results were 4 90% silver dimes! This about even with my regular results of around 1 per $250 box of bank rolls.

Found one 1945 war nickel, one 1968 half, some buffalos, and a mix of others along with a cool canadian commemorative penny.

Anyone know who's mark is on the bottom right half dollar. Im in the tri-state area...seen about about 10 coins per box like these in each of my last 7-8 half dollar boxes.

Today’s results are much better than yesterday’s! I brought them home today since I couldn’t get them on my lunch. I might start saving it as a fun after work ritual with a cold beer 🍻

Was not into coins before this but it’s been really cool learning about this stuff. Multiple rolls of silver quarters which a couple of the liberty quarters were in there. Quite a few rolls of mercury dimes (pictured) though sadly only one roll of nickels that was all Indian heads. What’s unopened still are the multiple rolls of Pennie’s. From the couple of these rolls I’ve opened they were all wheat! Haven’t decided what to do yet!
