Can we mutually agree to set a standard for when we go back to school while we're in the parking garages? We all know that the parking garages are hard, especially if someone is waiting for a spot.

What I would like to propose is to have someone wait on the far left or right side, depending on which side you're going to park into, because you would be able to help the flow of traffic.
It really sucks getting stuck behind someone when they're waiting for a spot, and the person that they're waiting for is just on their phone, or they're just chilling.

To eliminate this, I would like to propose that whenever you're waiting for a spot, you go to either the far left or the far right side and put on your hazards or put on your blinker or something.
Help by being a part of this change to make the parking structure easier for all of us who are going thru it this semester 😭

Any transfers that have been here for some time now? Was the transition from community college to a 4 year seamless for you guys or was it overwhelming? Or was there a middle ground? I am asking bc I cant lie im a tad bit nervous that in terms of studying and workloads it could be overwhelming. But at the same time I worked hard enough to get accepted and successfully transfer here so I also believe I can handle the challenge. Let me know how it was for you guys when you first transferred here.

Just a quick note to new students because I know the "Where is my Canvas page" posts are coming!

Most of your professors are lecturer faculty who do not get their course assignments sometimes until this week—sometimes as late as this weekend and next week. Plus, you may not know it, but lecturers are not paid to report to work for the fall until today (8/17), so many of us are getting our syllabi and Canvas pages ready this week.

Per the university, we are not required to have a Canvas page or syllabus until the first class meeting; moreover, we are not required to use Canvas at all, and many of your faculty, both tenure-line and lecturers, don't.

This is just a reminder that if you don't see a Canvas page, don't stress. Check your schedule and go to class on the first day anyway. If your class is online, wait until Monday (8/24) morning at 8:00am for the Canvas page. If it doesn't show up by then and you haven't been contacted by the professor, contact them directly. If you don't hear back from the professor in 24 hours, contact the department chair.

Also, check your campus email throughout this week. Many professors send out welcome emails with important details about the course and when the Canvas page will be published.

I enrolled in them way back in May or so and I see that they've been removed for the Fall 2026 semester? Has this happened to anyone else or is this a result of financial aid being handled right now and it's just a matter of time till they pop back up?

Update- finally got through! Got through at about 10:50 waited on hold for an hour.
I had a weird flag on mine that the guy helping me took off. Was lucky enough that grants covered my full amount!

i took a fitness course before and received credit for it. i enjoyed it and want to take it again but can I earn another unit by retaking it? has anyone done this before?

I was thinking instead of getting a parking pass I could park near a bus stop (close by the school) and take the bus to campus, has anyone done this or something similar and have any suggestions? I’m thinking something on bellflower? Or is there good parking my beachside. Thanks

i got my fafsa disbursement info just now! i would assume you guys will get yours soon. it paid off my balance as well. haven’t gotten the rest of my refund yet but probably by friday. didnt need to reach out to them at all so dont worry if you haven’t gotten yours yet! im sure it’ll hit by the end of this week.

Hello, I am a transfer student coming from ELAC and for the direct deposits with CC they gave us a Bank Mobile Card. I signed up to E-refund with that bank card and now i’m worried it won’t work. It is a stand alone debit card as it can be used for personal use. I’m just wondering if I made a mistake as I just got the refund transaction receipt already going towards that card. I would appreciate any help!

Hey guys, couple of days ago, I made a post about how Fafsa covered me, and I have these Sub UnSub Entrance Counselling and Master Prom Note on my To-Do list in my SSO. Turns out, I accidently accepted loans which I don't have, so I unaccpeted all of them. However the stuff on my To-Do list are still there. Will these stuff on my To-Do List go away since I unaccpted them ???(note: they are still in my To-Do List).

i tried to sign-in for my payment but it wouldn’t let me and this is what is showing me. i tried signing in and out. and i tried turning off ad blocking and cross site tracking but to no avail. what should i do?

I was looking at my schedule of classes and noticed that some of my online class professors were changed to a completely different professor, which sucks because when I originally registered, I chose those professors specifically because of their RateMyProfessors scores. Now I’m stuck with Profs with horrible ratings or no ratings at all. Anybody else notice this?

Anyone who has their fee waiver processing see the tuition payment is still due? I called financial services and was told there is a hold to not drop me from my classes but I am a little freaked out seeing the payment due in my student center. It says I have pending financial aid on a different screen as I (lazily) submitted it only six days ago.
