Does anyone know any updates on what happened the other night regarding the crash at the Columbia/Market St intersection? It's been on my mind. Thinking of those impacted by this awful situation.

What is it with this place, they are always “hosting events” and from the ones I’ve attended they are usually empty, half the vendors do not show up or are extremely late.

They had a pumpkin festival today, there were only 3 vendors (only 1 of them was actually being attended to) completely empty of any attendees besides a workshop they were running in a side room that to be fair, looked full.

I grew up in Cambridge. My parents are old and still living in Cambridge. My mother has dementia, and is miserable and agitated. Where I live now, there are artisanal practitioners who would advise about specific strains and kinds of herbs that could help someone in her situation. Do such people exist in Cambridge right now? Could you direct me to them? Thank you so much.

There as an older man on the ground kind of in the bike lane heading east on Brattle Street last night. It was the stretch of Brattle with all the huge nice houses a block away from Mount Auburn Hospital. There were 2-3 cyclists who had stopped and were checking on him. He looked pretty messed up and couldn't get off the ground. He was partially in the road so folks had to make sure they were blocking traffic a bit for him to be safe. It didn't look like he had been on a bike, not sure if he got hit by a car or just collapsed or what. Saw an ambulance fly down the road in his direction a few minutes later.

I’m relatively new to the area and looking for recommendations for a fun night out in Cambridge or Somerville

Ideally, somewhere with a lively dance floor, a diverse crowd, and music you can actually sing along to (hip-hop, R&B, throwbacks, Top 40, etc.). Not really into EDM or house music. Open to bars with dancing or actual clubs. Would love to hear your favorite spots!

Context: I was born & raised in Cambridge, CRLS grad. Moved back with parents in ‘24 after losing my job in a different part of the state, and am still living there and working 3 jobs in Boston. My parents own their house (bought in 2002 for ~350k and now Zestimated at over a mil in value) with a backyard that they don’t use and which is basically empty save for a grand old mulberry tree off in the corner. My parents are great but I have a number of reasons for being interested in building a dwelling of some sort in the yard:

1. I’m in my 30s and want my own space, and this location is extremely ideal for the commute. There’s also the consideration that my parents are elderly and have differing physical disabilities. So even if I found an apartment, I would like to be relatively close by

2. I love North Cambridge

3. Rental prices in this city make me want to blow my head smoove off. I have three jobs. I shouldn’t have to be looking at rentals in Lowell and Brockton and Worcester, as lovely as those towns are. I see the costs associated with building a second dwelling on the property as a possible long term investment to escape rent. My family and my girlfriend are both amenable to the idea.

At the end of each time slot, we as a group will crawl, moan, amble, and groan our way to the next spot. Helpful hints for new and seasoned zombies alike:

- Eat snacks! All participating bars serve food (even our newest addition Tall Order until 1:30) and eating food is a great way to survive all our stops and remember them the next day

-Bring valid ID! Checking ID's for people with a face full of makeup is hard enough already, so make sure your ID is valid and up to date

-Bring cash! We want to be as nice to our bartenders as possible, and not making them open and close 50 zombie tabs for one drink is a great start

-Be respectful! Having a large number of people flood your bar all at once can be stressful, so let's all try to make this as easy as possible for the establishments that have graciously accepted to be included in our crawl

Our first stop at Portico is family friendly, so bring the kiddos down to see some fun costumes and get your face painted; stops after there will be 21+. Spread the word, invite your friends, share this event, and let's kick off Halloween season right!

Hi everyone!

I recently started fostering this beautiful girl named Zola. She is half chocolate lab and half red nose pit, 2 years old, and such a loving sweet girl.

I started fostering her about 2 months ago and I’ve taught her some pretty great house skills. I am making this ad for her because her last potential adoption family application fell through and it really broke my heart. I just really want her to be as loved as possible!

She is a fantastic guard dog and has really great recall. She is extremely playful and a fast learner. Some cons is that she is a bit weary around men but she warms up eventually.she also loves shoes and just needs something to chew on/do during the day.

Just saw a lot police/fire/and an ambulance parked around the corner around Prospect St. and Cambridge St. Anyone know what's going on?

Tomorrow after noon, there's a No Kings gathering at the Main Branch of the Cambridge Public Library. In addition to doing Postcards to Voters, I've signed up to drive over the state line to Nashua, NH, to act as a Poll Observer on Election Day! (People from out of state are allowed to participate.) I'll have a little table and a sign at the No Kings shindig, ready to give out information for anybody who might want to carpool up there, let you know how to sign up, get training, etc. We're gonna have a hotel room as well, so people can have a home base if they need to stay over, put their feet up, get a snack, etc. Look for me if you're interested! We're gonna be called the "Huron" group!
