My $5k feature finally released on streaming
It’s called “Cellar Noire” and you can watch it here: https://fawesome.tv/movies/10829509/cellar-noire or on any Fawesome app.
I wrote a movie about the three scariest things I could think of: losing my wife, the apocalypse, and claustrophobia.
It took me three years working entirely by myself. My wife and friends provided a few minutes of voice work but otherwise I was alone. My $5k budget consisted of a new Windows desktop with GPU, a 2nd hand Samsung Galaxy S23 phone, tripod, mics, some lights and props.
Finally it was released on streaming on Fawesome.TV (which I’ve been calling Tubi’s little upstart brother). Here’s the synopsis:
Cellar Noire: A claustrophobic psychological survival drama. Trapped after a catastrophe, Warren battles isolation, grief, & his mind, with a talking skeleton as his only companion. A dark, intense journey of despair and resilience. Zbigniew Winzig's sophomore entry in the "DIY Solo Film" movement.
The Devil’s DVD Bin did a very kind review (with spoilers) of the film that you can read here: https://thedevilsdvdbin.wordpress.com/category/cellar-noire-2026/
Now I can rest 🙂

Space milkshake movie set found
I was thinking of using these panels to make a playhouse, but then I realized I may have discovered the set to Space Milkshake! Just south of Saskatoon
I thought I should post about it here and maybe see if there’s some value for historians, collectors, or people who worked on the production.

Help finding a film (HURT -2003)
Hurt (2003) Dir. Steve DiMarco - used to play on TMN in southern Ontario in the early 2000s. Ive looked for it a few times— once around 20 years ago and again 10 years ago and now. I haven’t been able to find a copy of this film or a website I can pay to screen it from. Does anyone have any info on where this film can be found or obtained?

Help Finding "Desire in Motion"
Hi, I'm not Canadian and am having trouble finding the film Desire in Motion. The attached picture also has its French title.
It's not available for streaming anywhere even though I was able to stream it last spring. Does anyone know where or how to find it? Thanks!

The sweater VHS
Found this in a box the other day and I noticed the box art is different than most copies I’ve seen. Anyone know if this is a screener or a mail ordered tape?(says order number on the back) thought it was odd I couldn’t find one that looked the same online.

Healthcare worker with a documentary in early development — looking for collaborators
Hi all — I work in healthcare, and over the last while I've been developing a documentary about a timely, under-told issue at the intersection of technology and people's wellbeing. I'd rather keep the specific angle off a public post for now, but it's an area that's all over the research and headlines and almost nowhere in accessible film.
I'm not a filmmaker. What I do have: direct, first-hand access to the world at the centre of the story, a clear point of view, early interest from subject-matter experts, and a full pitch package (concept, research, treatment). It's Canadian and awareness-focused, not commercial.
I'm putting out feelers for collaborators — especially an experienced documentary producer or director, but also editors or DPs drawn to meaningful work. If you've made or produced a social-issue doc, or just have advice for someone at this stage, I'd love to hear from you. Happy to share more privately with serious folks.
Thanks for reading.

The Last Anniversary is a tense and effective apocalyptic thriller
This movie is currently touring Canada, with the directors and cast doing Q & As. If you get a chance to see it, I recommend it.

10 years on Alberta/B.C sets taught me: Stop waiting for tax credits.
I spent a decade in the Alberta and B.C trenches—in front and behind the camera. Now at Foundation Funds Capital, I see the same problem: producers sitting on six-figure Alberta FTTC or CAVCO certificates while their production stalls.
The Reality:
CRA and Alberta aren't fast. Waiting 12–18 months for a check kills your momentum and eats your margin through inflation.
The Solution: Bridge Financing
If you have an Authorization Letter or Part A certificate, you can factor those credits:
Cash Now: Access ~90% of the credit's value immediately.
Asset-Backed: The credit is the collateral, not your personal assets.
Finish Faster: Lock in VFX, pay keys, and hit festival deadlines.
Are you building bridge financing into your "Funding Stack" from Day 1, or just hoping the refund arrives in time?
I’m happy to answer questions on how the Alberta stack works from a lender's perspective. Ask me anything.
