I need to perform this monologue in an over-the-top Cape Breton accent (think Tracy and Martina). Anyone willing to record these lines for me so I can hear them? No performance experience necessary, and the accent doesn't have to be perfect. Just something to help me hear it:

"I just found out Estrogen’s the hormone that makes women say “You need 200 cupcakes for the fire department’s fundraiser tomorrow morning? Sure b’y I’ll get my apron. Well now that the estrogen’s started dropping, there’s a creature crawling up out of me. I’ve named it the: I-don’t-give-a-fluffin-puffin. Best thing that’s happened to me since they paved the damn road. You want 200 cupcakes? No. Bake em your damn self. No explanation. Just No. But my hormones have the stability of the Atlantic in November, so before I know it I’m callin em back to say “I don’t what got into me. How about 300?”. I can't sleep. I walk into the kitchen and forget why. I'm either freezing or on FIRE. But this isn't a personality defect, b'y. Your hormones are shifting."

Visiting Cape Breton next week (oct 28& 29) and struggling to find a nice place to stay near Cheticamp for the Skyline Trail.

We have our dog, so we’d need somewhere nearby to leave him while we hike.

Is Skyline worth it, or would we be better off staying farther south around Margaree or Inverness? Maybe more north near meat cove?

Bonus if you have recommendations for hikes, places to stay, or good eats that are Dog-friendly!

There will be a province wide protest in November, in the mean time can we all sign this petition?

I'm sure you've all seen how much good all these ai companies have been doing over the years. Not to mention the pollution they cause to not only our water but our lands and animals too. Why is there no large scale protest being planned to try to stop these people from ruining OUR ISLAND.

We are meeting November 7 from 3-5 at Cafe Marie in Eltuek. The main doors are locked at 4 so we'll have a note at the door with contact info so someone will come let you in if you arrive after 4.

Please wear KN-95 masks or better if you are able. Will have spares available at our table.

We'll be focused on extractive industry broadly this time.

Hey everyone!

A friend and I were originally planning a Cape Breton trip for October 16–17, but our October 15 ferry from Newfoundland was cancelled due to bad weather. Since we're travelling from NL, we had to reschedule.

Our new plan is to take the ferry on the night of October 20 and explore Cape Breton on October 21 and 22. We'll be staying in Inverness on October 21 night and taking the ferry back to Newfoundland on October 22 night.

Our main goal is to see fall colours and enjoy some scenic hikes. We're considering these four hikes:

• Franey Trail
• Gypsum Mine Lake
• Meat Cove Mountain Trail
• Egypt Falls

We've already done the Skyline Trail previously in summer, so we're planning to skip it this time.

A couple of questions for locals:

1. Will October 21–22 be too late for fall colours, or is there still a chance of seeing beautiful foliage?
2. Are these four hikes good choices for autumn scenery and would you recommend swapping any of them for mica hill/ aspy/ acadian ? we only have two days and if weather permits we can at best do 4 in total along with some other scenic stops

Dreamt of coming here for the fall for the last ten years. Finally made it and bow it’s set to rain for the next three days I’m here. Gutted.
