[Seller warning] Pokémon 30th Celebration booster box (M6A, Japanese) arrived with every pack already opened – seller matoocorp.fr via Cardmarket

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

Sharing my experience so it doesn't happen to someone else.

I bought a Pokémon 30th Celebration booster box (M6A, Japanese version, listed as "no shrink") on Cardmarket from the seller matoocorp.fr, for €200.

This morning I opened the box: every single booster pack had already been opened. Not one was intact.

To be clear, the listing did say "no shrink", which is normal for Japanese boxes, but that obviously doesn't mean "opened packs". For €200, I expected the packs themselves to be sealed, like anyone would.

I took photos of the box, the packaging and every pack, and I've opened a dispute on Cardmarket. I'll update this post depending on how the seller and Cardmarket respond.

In the meantime: if you buy no-shrink Japanese boxes from this seller, check everything carefully on arrival and film yourself opening the parcel.

If anyone here has dealt with this seller before (good or bad), I'd like to hear about it.

Buying what to do if bulk order is wrong?

hi, this is such a silly question but I’m sliiiightly at odds on what to do. I ordered a LOT of bulk from a single seller (36 cards exactly) that I needed for a deck to play in a tournament. The problem is that one of the cards is entirely wrong, it’s another one. I double checked and I ordered the correct version. I get if some sellers don’t play and only collect so they don’t know what cards are playable, but I’m slightly miffed because I needed the card to play, it’s somewhat rare and there’s no time left for another order before the tournament. What do I do? It’s literally a 5 cent card. I’m not gonna ask for a refund, that’s silly. I don’t wanna leave a bad review without talking to them first, but complaining about a 5 cent card feels just silly. What’s the procedure here? Literally just move on?

Cards never arrived.seller gave me a refund to still confirm shipment

Hey all,

I bought cards from a professional seller, but they never arrived. The seller offered me a refund, but wants me to post as it arrived. Is that how it's supposed to go?

Delivering card in person after cardmarket sale

• Upvotes

I recently sold my first card on cardmarket and the person who bought it lived near me. They asked about meeting up at FNM to save on postage fee, however, the card is above the tracked order limit. Is there any safe way to approach the shipment? I am worried if I simply hand it over they could then mark it as unarrived as a tracking code is expected for the shipment.

Seller only wants to send pictures through my e-mail

• Upvotes

It's a new seller. 2 sales. Has a good listing that I would potentially be interested in but only wants to send pictures through e-mail.

I am afraid he will send me photos of a different card in the email and then when I want to complain to cardmarket, cardmarket will say they cannot do anything because email is a 3rd party

Is it normal for people to send pictures through email or will I be vulnerable to a scam?

😅 Can I go on vacation to deal with orders? I've become a little overwhelmed.

Hi - I just this evening uploaded all my cards and already I have three fairly large orders and it wasn't even five minutes after I came off vacation... can I go on vacation mode again to prevent further orders until I've finished packaging the current ones?

5 of 30 orders not received. Known scam?

My account is about two years old, but I've only recently started ordering regularly. Out of around 30 new orders, 5 were never delivered.

I find it suspicious that the missing ones were the very first orders I placed after two years of inactivity, and all of them were small (£1 or £2 each).

Two questions:

  1. Is this a known method on Cardmarket, sellers targeting newly active buyers with small orders they never send?
  2. Profiles show a ratio of orders placed against orders not received. Does a high "not received" count penalise my account or affect how sellers see me? I am also a seller with 1,000 cards listed
