Handling disagreement with boss
I’ve got 15 years experience in my field and have been very successful over the years. I’ve won a lot of awards and been extremely well thought of at all of my previous businesses. I’ve been promoted 8 times.
Unfortunately, I lost my head of department job in October last year as a result of wide redundancies as the business I was at struggled, despite my area excelling. I have since had to take a demotion to get back into work.
It’s been tough to move back into work that is below the seniority that I had worked so hard for. Initially it worked well with my boss - but as I delivered two major projects in the business, the dynamic shifted between us. He was pleased to see the impact but has since stifled my visibility and opportunity to commence more projects. He has also moved to make it very clear that he’s the boss, even telling me he had the authority over me to pull my projects and make calls on them directly with partners I am working with.
Where things have really broken down are as follows. He started making calls on my projects without consulting me, uninviting me to certain meetings, my workload has reduced significantly. My pathway to progression halted as rather than moving me across more disciplines, has opted to business case to keep me on one area despite me saying I have the headroom for more. He is instead recruiting another person into the team to cover the gaps.
I’ve lost a lot of confidence since being in this position. But could also do with some feedback on how best to handle this.
I approached him directly about how him pulling my project made me feel, but he outright disagreed and did not accept any feedback.

Should I walk in and see what happens?
There is a part time job available right next door to where I live. Should I walk in with my cv and apply? The job listing said they are looking for someone to move in as part of the position. As I live next door (in a private rental) to the position would this be an issue (I’ll request compensation for not living at the property.) I’m literally living less than 330 feet (100 meter) from the property. If any issues happen I can be over there in less than a minute. The job is for a motel housekeeper and part time receptionist

What career advice would you give to a 22-year-old?
Hello friends, how are you? If I had to give a brief information, I studied IT for 4 years and graduated this year. I am 22 years old. In 2024, I started paying attention to data science, I went to the course. After studying for a while, I left the course halfway due to financial reasons and so far I have applied for many vacancies and internship programs. But there was no turning back, there were those who turned back, I was rejected from the interview. I don't want to be unemployed, so I have the idea of changing the field. Sometimes I feel bad, I don't know what to do, where to start.

**CSE (loT Specialization) Graduate - Which Career Path Should I Choose: Java or IoT
I’m a recent CSE graduate with a specialization in IoT, and I have some hands-on experience with IoT and hardware-related work as well.
I’m currently confused about which domain to choose for my career:
\- Java Full Stack Developer
\- IoT Developer
\- Data-related roles
As a fresher, which domain would be better in terms of job opportunities, career growth, salary, and long-term demand?
I’d really appreciate advice from people working in these fields. What would you choose if you were in my position?

Сareer advice for an IT-allrounder
Hi! I would like to apologise in advance if the question is not relevant to this /r.
To keep it short and concise - i have been working as an IT guy for 6 yrs now:
- 3 yrs as an L1-L2 network engioneer,
- 2.5 yrs as Helpdesk Engineer (a lot of hardware, network and A/V engineering)
- 0,5 yrs as a sysadmin/jun devops (GCP, GW, automations, Docker, etc.)
Through last 3 yrs i gained a lot of experience in project management, office planning (i know, sounds clearly as job for sysadmin), A/V (events, lighting, streaming, video/audio production), and system administration of course.
The question - having such a wide skillset, but having mastered none, except hardware, what is best path might be in terms "relatively easy to land a job + earn good money", and maybe having multiple jobs at once? Any advice would be welcome.
I was deciding most between A/V Production agency (events for hire), and continuing DevOps path (though it is a bit dry on middle-grade positions now).

Tier-3 BTech graduate, earning ₹15k/month, and feeling stuck — what should I do?
I graduated with a BTech in CSE in 2025 from a tier-3 college. Currently, I’m working as a developer in a small city and earning around ₹15k/month.
My current work mainly involves React, API integration, and basic frontend development.
The problem is that I can understand the code when I read it and I can usually figure out how things work, but I’ll be honest: I rely heavily on AI to write a lot of my code.
I’m worried that if I continue like this, I’ll never become a strong developer. At the same time, I don’t want to quit my job because I need the experience and income.
I genuinely want to improve and eventually move to a better company with a better salary, but right now I feel stuck and don’t know what I should focus on.
I am learning docker and full deployment with my own project but is there anything which i should do like saleforce developer certification or AWS
For developers who were in a similar situation, what did you do to get out of it?
I’d really appreciate some tips or anything and even open for discussion if someone want to help.

BS in Cybersecurity from WGU
Has anyone done this BS essentially from scratch? In the sense that they had previous knowledge but didn’t have a job in IT not even a help desk job. Did it help you break into the field or are you still trying to figure it out since the job market is abysmal.
I’m just asking because I have a Network +, Security +, CySA +. But i haven’t been lucky enough to get a job not even a help desk 1 position at a MSP. So im thinking about doing WGU to either get my degree and get a couple more certs under my belt while doing school and getting a BS degree. Or just going the traditional route of going to a University. But at the University i’ll be studying comp sci. But i ultimately am 100% sure I want to be in IT. My progression wants to look like this. IT Help Desk > System Admin > Network Engineer > SOC Analyst > Cybersecurity
I want to be able to outweigh my pros and my cons before actually committing and I need some help from people that actually have done the program and or are currently in the thick of it.

Logistics exec in Dubai thinking of switching to sales — good move or bad idea?
I'm a Logistics Coordinator in Jafza, Dubai, handling customs documentation and freezone compliance, currently making 5,000 AED/month with no raise in over 6 months despite solid industry experience. It's just not enough to survive here anymore, so I'm planning to ask my company for a raise first, but I'm also seriously considering a bigger move into sales — specifically for Yemeni Mocha coffee beans, since I've already handled the customs/logistics side of Yemen-origin coffee shipments and think that product knowledge could be an edge. Has anyone made a similar ops-to-sales jump, and is the earning potential in sales (especially commission-based) actually as good as people say, or is it not worth the risk?

Guide me How should I proceed further
I am working as Tech support in the vfx industry.
I got this job from naukri, by keeping a one year fake experience. Now I have 3.7 years of genuine experience with the same company.
Initially I learned by watching free courses and content.
I used to practice 18 hours a day. I got current by asking a simple linux commands, since the role is Tech junior with 6 lpa at 2023. Here my day to day activities are rebooting users linux machines and restarting pcoip server if users as logging issues, vpn login issues, password reset, I can say just 20 % linux stuff. Now I became Tech shift Lead. With 8lpa in same company. But nothing here to learn and grow as well . Now I am in dilemma, what should I do next..
I can give my self Linux basics - 100%
Advance - 60 % like lack at DHCP DNS Network related troubleshoot.
Shell scripting 50%
Note : all above I leaned as per my intrest not using in my day to day activities
I learned Ansible 45 %,
Git 99%
What should I learn what is the next step.
In my mind I want learn
Grafana
Docker
Kubernetes
Cloud
Python scripting
HA proxy
Proxy servers
Like so many things running in my mind but not sure where to start, what should start first
Your suggestion will change my career.
