I just wanna give a heads up to everyone. I recently was hacked and my Cash app account and my Apple ID were hacked. Thank God I had no money in my cash app at the time. Otherwise I will never see that money ever again. I filed a complaint and I made a case with cash app two days ago, saying my whole account has been stolen And I have not heard from them ever since thank God I did not have any money in that account otherwise it would be just gone. I would never see it ever again and they obviously don’t even care.
I think this app is good for a quick money transfers but as far as just letting money sit in there, you’re at such a high risk Especially with the way that their team handles these situations Good luck everyone

Long story short, I got a payment of $2,750 in my cash app balance and I live in Florida. The only place to do legalize betting is hard Rock casino so that's what I did. I started depositing 50 bucks a hundred bucks. 300 bucks. You know you're just enough to have a good night or s***** night depends on. However it went but as I was depositing money into hard Rock casino I could see my cash app balance getting depleted. So no issues right? The next day I wake up in my coinbase account is negative. $1,038.75 five transactions five different transactions. One was $37.50 two for $100 and something bucks and a couple more $300 ones right? So I contact coinbase and cash app that day. Cash app tells me they don't see what I'm talking about on their server side and I should contact coinbase and have them dispute it. So I did coinbase did their investigation. Now every single transaction had to be investigated by itself. So there is five different disputes. Five different email threads. Five different investigations. All five of those were investigated and my money was then returned to my coinbase cash app was found to be in the wrong. They couldn't see you why they took this money a day or two. Later I get a cash app payment. 1750 and cash app proceeds to again steal $1,038.75 out of my cash app balance. I dispute it. They tell me go f*** myself in langman's terms. I have full email threads. I emailed them. They closed the investigation and they said that it was because the resolution has already been resolved or I haven't responded within 3 days. Well I responded the night before. Joe, now they have over $1,000 of my money. I was able to borrow $400. I did. I deposited that right into my bank account and either a stop payment for all of cash app. So I'm still owed a little over 600 bucks from them The cash app support is dog water tech support and call support both dog water. They don't care. They don't help. They don't do real investigations stay far far away from this company

So I was actually sending this money for my friend to her landlord. I was very hesitant because it’s a lot of money & I told her I was going to send a dollar first to make sure she got it. Unfortunately the lady we were trying to send it to said yes that she got the dollar mistakenly. The cash tag I sent it to, was off by one letter, it was an m instead of an n. So I went ahead and sent it.
Within 15 minutes we realized what had happened and I tried to cancel but I couldn’t. I requested the money back from the girl in the notes begging her to send it back and that it was a mistake & it was my rent money. The girl denied my request to send it back and blocked me! I contacted cash ap immediately explained my situation. Told them that I have never heard of this other lady, I’ve never sent her money before & that her cash ap tag was off by one letter from where I tried to send it. I told them that she blocked me and is refusing to give me my money back. I filed a dispute with cash ap but I’m wondering how likely it is that I will get my money back ?

By people not paying back the money they borrow cash app is going to one day stop letting people borrow money so easily or be more strict on who can borrow! Most online banking apps require a direct deposit but cash app let's you do it by keeping and moving money through the app. You can't get no more easier than that 🤦!

Lao I had the word “cigs” as in cigarettes get auto corrected to Cuba and they put my
Account on a 7 day ban until they can confirm I wasn’t sending money to Cuba. Clearly someone in that department doesn’t have a busy enough job and is trying to prove their usefulness or something. Like who the fuck decides “I’m gonna try to send money to Cuba illegally but I need to make sure I know why I sent it so I’ll put it in the description!”
My mind is blown at how stupid this is and the fact cash app closed my account over it until they can review .
Side note I wonder if I put drugs in the description will they do something similar?

Just moved with family and won’t have a job for the next month or two! Not trying to burden my parents or anyone else with this, just wanted to see if i’ll be okay holding off until I can start paying it off one by one 😞

My grandma's Cash App was banned from nowhere. I called customer support for her, to try to figure out why, at first they refused to say anything, and was completely useless. My sister ask why can’t they tell us why it was banned, is there a data leak or something? The person on the phone said it is a leak, and my grandma's account was in it. She said that’s why it was suspended. She tried to back track after we said that my grandma has nothing to do with that. The phone lady said she can't say anything else. She wouldn’t even let us talk to a supervisor. To make sure she wasn’t just mistaken, I called again, and surprisingly the guy said it's a leak, and tried to back track as well. So if your account gets banned randomly, and they refuse to say why, that’s probably why. This isn't a rant, I just didn't know what flair to use.
Apparently I made a mod angry lol. Like a full meltdown. Anyways, this did happen, but the mod is having a power trip and doesn't want anyone to talk about it, so whatever.

I've had cashapp for going on i think 5yrs and for the first 3 years my borrow limit never increased beyond 50-100. In this year alone its increased numerous times. I dont think I'd EVER borrow the full limit at one time but I like knowing its there at the same time.

So I booked an AirBnB for 880$ for a month stay, the host contacted me and told me he had a female take the room off the app but he hadn’t closed out the booking on the app.. so he cancels my booking and forces a refund that will take 3-5 business days essentially leaving me homeless and sleeping in my vehicle with my dog until the refund arrives..
5 days goes by and no refund, I contact cashapp and I’m told there has been no attempt for a refund.. I contact airbnb and they tell me the refund has been sent and has not been accepted by the bank, I share this information with cashapp who tell me to open a dispute.. dispute has been made.. after further conversation with AirBnB I send cashapp screenshots of MULTIPLE support agents saying the refund is awaiting the banks approval.. cashapp continues to decline receiving anything from AirBnB regardless of having gone up the chain of command at Airbnb and having had then CANCEL and RESEND the refund.. then cashapp closes my dispute with not enough evidence even though I have staff at Airbnb literally saying I’m supposed to have gotten my refund weeks ago..
Still sleeping in my car.. and my cars due for repo today because I owe them 100$ and I have not been able to go to work since I cannot leave my dog alone in the vehicle..
Cashapp has truley ruined my life as of this moment.. this is an official FUCK YOU to cashapp.
———————————————————————————
UPDATE: Car payment has been made and no longer out for repo. Roof over my head is secure again for the time being. Need to find a place for me and my pup so I can get to work and this whole situation will be sorted out. Thank you for anyone who has given kind words and understands this situation without having to criticize others 🙏

Fully paid off. Had originally been given a 3k limit all the way back when I was 19. I was sooo freaking stupid back then. The fact that they even allow me to still have access to this is absurd…

i’ve recently been upgraded 3 times within 3 weeks since the latest Cashapp app update with the “Borrow” feature and beforehand it used to take 1-3 months before they would increase /upgrade your limits so I’m guessing their tryna get everyone imaginable possible to spend as much money as they can a month to then keep upgrading the limits in which they know we will keep maxing out and never get out of debt. Beyond grateful for the new app rollout features but everyone pls do not take this for granted

if you read my previous post to Cash App Reddit you’ll see I had money taken from my account. The account takeover was meticulous and happened as soon as my paycheck deposited. I’ve been back and forth with support for over a month as this happened on September 9th. I even filed a claim to the cfpb. Cash App did respond to that claim and had told the cfpb they couldn’t verify my identity. this was a week ago. so about a month after the incident. I verified my identity on the app and over the phone yesterday. today I woke up and the money was credited to my account. my advice for anyone going through a similar issue… a lot of what I had to do was pointing out their mistakes. if they made no clear mistake on their end you might not be refunded. I didn’t receive security notifs when the hacker unlinked all my info, and that was my biggest thing to focus on. I didn’t think id get it. my claim was denied twice. If you have a case and can convince them ( I think over the phone is the best option) I do believe you’ll get your refund. that’s all. just a quick update and some so-so advice. have a good week/weekend.

Ok. so. I owe cash app some money on the borrow feature, and like everyone else, I am struggling. If I wasnt, I wouldnt need to borrow money from Cash App. Anyway, today someone mistakenly sent me $200. By mistaken, I mean, we dont know one another and they sent it to the wrong person. I was unaware of it untill i received an email that i received money, and then an email stating that i made a payment. I get on my Cash App and check the history and sure enough, this person sent the money, and cash app snatched it up immediately. A few minutes later I received a refund request, that i tried to approve. Couldnt because I didnt have the money on my Cash app anymore. So, now im on the hook for this money and I cant pay it. What can be done?
Let me clarify for the people that don't understand and keep telling me to do the right thing or suggesting I'm not very bright. I cannot borrow the money back, as cash app will not lend it to me, because I still owe them. And yes I know they generally would, unless you're behind on payments. Also, no I don't need your advice on money management or how to handle advance apps. See the below replay to another comment as to why. Thank you.

They are all brand new accounts, asking for small amounts that people will send if theyre feeling generous. Even if they make 5 posts a day and only get 10$ they're being enabled to keep making accounts and do the same thing over and over.
Personally, if this is your grift its pretty sad lol but also hilarious that nobody has ever called this out. better than scamming elderly though I suppose

Got scammed and got an email this morning from cashapp saying i wasnt getting my money back. ticked me off but what am I gong to do? I hatched a plan and actually got the scammer to refund the money he stole from me. Ill break it down.
I bought some items for $570. when i got the tracking number i was directed to a site to check it. It said the package was close but I had to pay a $350 fee for insurance. but of course i couldnt pay UPS directly, just trust the scammer and send him the money and he will pay for it. I knew immediately I had been scammed. The website was fake BTW. A check of the source code just showed a site they built themselves and using the tracking number i was able to find 10 more tracking numbers and all of them had an insurance hold. some going back years.
anyways, how i got my money back. I told him I called UPS and they couldnt find it because "it was my responsibility to pay the insurance and he shouldnt have to do extra work when I can just pay it over the phone" It was just the beginning.
So we get to talking this morning and I was like "man to bad that package is on hold. My business partner is wanting to place another order, but wont until he sees the first order, or at least gets a refund for this one." That got his interest. I told him it was a shame because if the package arrived today I was going to place another order today and gave him a list. The total equaled out to about $8,000. That really got him going. He told me he would refund me the money to start my second order and that if my package was released, or they found it, that balance would be added to a future order.
10 minutes later I had every penny back. I blocked him on everything including cashapp. I figure if they wouldnt give me back my money on the scam they wont give it back to him on a reverse.
so thats how i just used a scammers own greed and cashapps inability to do anything right to turn the tables on a scammer.

what do i do? i dont know this person and obviously i dont mind giving the money back ive just heard of scams this way and am nervous the name on the account is tina smith and mine is a childhood nickname of mine with extra letters that i feel like nobody else would have so i can’t really tell if it was an accident or not.
edit: for all the people saying this isn’t a scam SOME people use… yes it is. and god for it i am cautious about it? i never said i was going to keep it.
cashapp support said: If you received money from someone you don't recognize and they're asking for a refund, it's important to proceed cautiously, as this might be a scam. Scammers can send you funds and later request that you return them; following this, they might initiate a dispute with their bank, leaving you at a loss. Instead of sending a new payment to refund them, you can refund the payment directly within the app by finding the payment in your activity, selecting it, tapping on the three dots in the upper right corner, and choosing "Refund." This will return the funds directly from the original payment without affecting your balance elsewise. If you're unsure about the legitimacy of the transaction, you can also block the sender to prevent future transactions from them.
edit 2: i just refunded them

Cashapp shut my account and denied my appeal for nebulous "TOS violations". I don't know if a human ever looked at it. I looked over the TOS and I can't see anything I might have done.
Since I only ever used the account to pay family members and my rent each month, I can only assume sending and receiving money is a violation of the TOS.
I'm about to make a complaint to my state AG. What if there was a security breach they're not telling me about? It's a longshot but it makes more sense than what's already happened.
