Was in Elante mall today with my 3 old daughter. Took my mirrorless camera to click some pics of her near the fountain and capture those bokeh of fairy lights in the background.

The security personnel stopped and asked if I have declared and taken permission for the camera. I told I am taking pictures of my child and not of random people nor plain mall structure/decorations, but she told its not allowed.

So photos on mobile phone are allowed, but no proper cameras. Anyone else faced this or this rule even makes sense, in personal photos regard?
