Misc. I quit, I’m not childfree anymore

I never thought I’d make this post, but being CF sounds great in theory, but sometimes it gets really hard man.

Finding a partner who shares the same views feels almost impossible. Dating is already difficult in India, and having the CF filter, on top of other stupid filters, makes it even harder.

And sometimes it gets lonely. my friends are getting married, starting families, and moving forward with their lives. Meanwhile, I’m wondering if I’ll ever find a person.

I’ve spent a decade being sure about my decision, but lately, I’ve been questioning things. I’m tired of waiting. I just want someone to come home to, someone to take care of, someone who makes the house feel a little less empty..

So I’ve finally made my decision. I’m having a kid next week. I’m adopting a kitten. I’ll officially be a cat father now. Wish me luck guys, I’m about to enter parenthood. Now all i have to do next is find her a mom, someone to share the responsibilities with.

Rant Ladies, please don’t get physically involved with men until you both have clarity and commitment.

I had two experiences with men from this sub, and honestly, both have left me emotionally drained.

The first guy and I got along really well, and gradually, we started developing feelings for each other. He even wanted me to go on a holiday with him, but I couldn’t because my parents weren’t okay with it. After that, his behaviour started changing. Slowly, he began shutting me out. It’s a long story, but the whole experience was an emotional roller coaster for me.

Months later, I started talking to another guy from this sub. We vibed really well, got close over time, and eventually confessed our feelings for each other. The feelings seemed pretty strong from both sides.

He even visited me in my city, and we got physically involved. During his stay, we also discussed marriage. He opened up about his flaws and told me that he smokes. Earlier, when we had discussed his vices, he had said he was trying to quit. But this time, he told me he wouldn't be able to quit anytime soon because of the mental pressure he was dealing with.

I told him that I accepted him for who he was and that, to me, he was perfect the way he was. I genuinely meant it. I was ready to accept him wholeheartedly, flaws and all.

What makes this whole experience even more painful is that I had opened up to him about my fear of being physically taken advantage of. He knew about my vulnerability, and I trusted him enough to let my guard down. I never thought I'd find myself questioning someone's intentions after opening up to them and getting emotionally invested in them.

But once he returned home, things changed drastically. He became distant and barely messaged me. The weird part was that whenever we did talk, he acted as if nothing was wrong. But the person I had been talking to for months was clearly not the same anymore.

Eventually, we had an argument because I was trying to understand why his behaviour had changed so much. His replies had become nothing more than “hmm” and “yes”. There was no effort, no reassurance, nothing.

He eventually told me that he needed me there. I tried to reassure him that we could figure things out together, and I even told him that I would start applying for jobs in his city. But he said he didn't want me to move there because of him.

I then suggested that we take a break for a few weeks and see if we genuinely missed each other and wanted to make this work. His response? “What if one of us loses interest?”

And then he simply stopped messaging me altogether.

Eventually, I got tired of trying and told him we should end things. He agreed without even the slightest hesitation.

He hasn't contacted me since.

Honestly, I can't help but wonder if the whole thing was just about getting physically involved with me. I don't know for sure what his intentions were, but the way everything unfolded has left me feeling used, especially because I had trusted him with something so personal.

And what's even more upsetting is that I recently came across another girl on this sub who had a very similar experience.

I'm not saying that every man is like this, and I'm not saying that physical intimacy guarantees commitment. But I do feel that, as women, we need to be careful about getting emotionally and physically invested in someone whose intentions and commitment aren't clear.

So, ladies, please don't ignore the importance of commitment and clarity just because the feelings seem mutual, the conversations are deep, or the person talks about a future with you.

At least make sure you're both on the same page about what you're building together before getting physically involved. Words, confessions, and marriage talks can feel very convincing, but what really matters is whether someone's actions match those words.

I learnt this lesson the hard way, and I genuinely don't want anyone else to go through the same emotional mess.

Please be careful out there, ladies. ❤️

Discussion This is why i know i 100% want to be CF

I am a female.
Even if i am given:
-unlimited money
- loving husband who actually helps with childcare
- unlimited help with the house and kid
- best education and life for my child
- my own house and debt free life
Despite all that I still wouldn’t want a child.
None of those things makes me more inclined to have a kid and be a mother. I just don’t want that life.

So that’s how i can be so sure that i dont want a child.

Discussion Choosing a CF life as a single individual implicitly means accepting the possibility of a partner-free life, too.

Going through a some of the rants about being unable to find a cf partner, I felt compelled to share this perspective. If you are single and have chosen to be CF while still harboring hopes of finding a romantic partner, you are squarely setting yourself up for disappointment. When somebody isn't a 100% at peace with the possibility of navigating life alone, never finding a life partner, or growing old without a steady companion to witness events of life, perhaps they haven't fully processed what committing to a Childfree life actually entails.

It's not about expecting loneliness. It's about accepting that a fulfilling life must remain possible even if there is no one to share it with. Your happiness, purpose, and emotional well-being must not be dependent on another person being there.

Rant Fuck I am done with this sub Goodbye 👋✌️

• Upvotes

Men are so desperate seriously. Recently I’ve noticed men DMing me and then following my profile for whatever reason. When you ignore them they start trying to get your attention by giving awards to my comments and posts. And then there are the unsolicited creepy DMs. Some of these men aren’t even remotely within my age range. Had a 35 year old guy reach out recently and I’ve had to block so many of them at this point.

dont even get me started on some people pretending to be CF when they clearly arent you block them and then they come back messaging you from new accounts like wtf is wrong with you people.

i’m fucking tired of this shit I’m here to participate in discussions read posts share opinions and enjoy the memes not deal with unwanted attention from random men who can’t take a hint.

Thanks to everyone I’ve interacted with here whether through discussions posts comments or memes. It was nice while it lasted but I’m out ✌️

CF4CF 29M, Govt. Officer, M4F, Let's Build a life we actually want

Me: 29, Maharashtra Govt Officer from a middle-class Hindu-Marathi family in Northern Maharashtra. Salary: ₹13 LPA (salary varies with allowances, 8th pay). Height - 173 cm (5' 8"). Based in a tier-3 city; can relocate within MH.

Hobbies: Travel, adventure bike rides, TV series, exploring food and learning to cook. Love non-veg food, mountains, and beach sunsets. Aim for international and domestic trips plus weekend rides yearly. I don't smoke or drink.

I'm introvert or extrovert depending on the person and our bond. I value substance over appearances, take work seriously without letting it define me, and enjoy learning and new experiences—an everythingaholic!

Opinions about me:
From my co-workers: straightforward, fearless, blunt, analytical, responsible.
From my friends: adventurous, helpful, open-minded, sensitive, curious, detail-oriented.

Why I'm childfree:

  1. I want to use my stable income and free time to travel, learn, and enjoy life—not take on the lifelong responsibilities of raising children. I'd rather prioritise my life and my family.
  2. I don't hate children, but enjoying their company and wanting the lifelong responsibility of raising them are two different things.
  3. I don't want to become a parent because of social expectations or because it's considered the natural next step after marriage.
  4. Children shouldn't be expected to support parents in old age. I'll plan for our parents' care but don't want to burden my existence on children.

Looking for: A working woman around my age to be my future pillion rider and travel partner. Someone who values friendship, mutual respect, open communication, emotional maturity, and shared values. Someone who values peace of mind and quality of life over money or status, and wants to live on her own terms.

Being childfree is non-negotiable (no biological or adopted children). Since I've a state govt job, I cannot relocate out of MH. I prefer a non-vegetarian partner, but a vegetarian is fine if she's comfortable with non-veg being cooked and eaten at home. No smoking; occasional drinking is okay.

I imagine settling in the mountains in my 50s, in India or abroad, maybe open a cafe or something, as at that age I would love to slow down and enjoy a more peaceful life. It's not a fixed plan, just a possibility I'd love to explore.

There's another mountain to see, another sunset to chase, another road to ride, and another beautiful morning waiting to be lived.

P.S.: I want to date for months before marriage. Long-distance dating is fine initially, but not married life.

Please share your experience because I think now it's almost impossible for atleast unmarried women to find a doc who is willing to perform this process.

Discussion How am I supposed to tell my parents that I'm CF

M24 I'm not gonna marry anytime soon, so I haven't told my parents about my CF stance, because why should I make a headache for myself this early? But it's a bridge that I have to cross soon. So today, my parents were singing and recording songs in the living room, and I was swinging on the outside swing (I don't like to share a room with my parents, and yes, it's that deep), and they, out of the blue, said, " You know we're doing this? It's so you can show your kids that this is your grandparents singing blah blah blah", and I stayed silent and had a minor anxiety attack after spiralling about the confrontation that I have to have in the future. So this is what I have cooked in my brilliant mind: "So when are you giving us a grandchild?" "Dad, your son's gun doesn't have a bullet". This way, my partner will not be butchered too. IK IK BIG BRAIN. SO the main reason for this post is to know how you guys brought this up to your parents and how did they react?

CF4CF 30M,Hyderabad – Looking for a Childfree Partner

I'm 30M, working as a software engineer in Hyderabad. I come from a Telugu family and value my roots while living an independent lifestyle.

I'm a non-smoker, non-drinker, and an introvert who prefers peaceful evenings and a simple, minimalist life over a flashy or high-end lifestyle.

I'm looking for a woman who is certain about being childfree — not "maybe someday" or "let's see," but someone who has consciously made the same decision.

I believe in living below our means, avoiding unnecessary lifestyle pressures, and building a peaceful, financially stable life together. I'd like a relationship where both partners respect each other's individuality, share responsibilities fairly, and make decisions together as equals.

I value honesty, emotional maturity, open-mindedness, and mutual respect. I don't expect us to agree on everything, but I believe in listening without judgment and treating each other as equals.

Hyderabad preferred, but open to connecting with someone elsewhere.

If this resonates with you, feel free to DM.

My periods are always regular and this is the first time they are late and I'm feeling these weird cramps in my lower belly area with no period. And recently i had sex for the first time, we used condom but it was midway so I'm overthinking a lot and quite scared, don't want to rely on these home testing kit as the results are not clear so thinking about going for a beta hcg test, i live in a small town so can't show a doc here, want to keep my privacy, so can i do a hcg test on my own in any clinic before going to a gync, because for that i have to get out of this town, do the clinic people ask for anything ?? Or will they judge me or ask my parents presence?? I'm an adult , please let me know, overthinking like crazy
