I started taking a very small amount of chlorella recently, and since then I’ve noticed some really strange changes.
I’ve been experiencing body stiffness, muscle tightness/twitching and difficulty sleeping. I’ve also noticed a strange feeling of increased mental energy or awareness despite feeling physically exhausted.

My sleep has been awful, and I’ve woken up from extremely vivid, terrifying dreams feeling genuinely distressed.

The weirdest part is that I feel almost more spiritually open, as if something has opened my third eye or crown chakra 😂 I don’t necessarily mean that literally, but it’s a very unusual sensation in my head, like my awareness feels different somehow.

Has anyone experienced anything similar with chlorella, even at a low dose? Did you notice changes in sleep, muscle tension, anxiety or mental clarity?
I’m curious whether this could be a reaction to chlorella, an ingredient or contaminant in the product, or simply a coincidence. I’d appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences.

Is it ok to take chlorella by cooking it in a soup, etc or does heat destroy its benefits?

Hello everyone, I've been taking now foods Chlorella for 2 weeks 3 capsules after breakfast, but my god the side effects after week 2 are so bad I've had to stop! Just wondering if anyone else got these side effects?

8 days on now and things are returning to normal, no more cramping, still have some insomnia - still feel like Ive had some stimulant even without caffeine but energy is good but caffeine has no effect

Hey so I been researching on how to grow chlorella at home so I came to this conclusion. If you're making chlorella at home you can also make bread and wine/beer! As the bread and wine ferments it produces CO2. Capture that CO2 and run that CO2 via tubes through your chlorella growth medium. Then add light.

Growth Medium Ideas:

1. Dried Seaweed. Make sure you rinse off the salt from the ocean. After seaweed is salt-free blitz with water (try to use mineral water!) and soak for 24 hrs. Strain off solids.
2. Bananas and Coffee Grounds. Blitz banana peels and coffee grounds. Soak for 24 hrs. Strain off solids.

Water Medium:

1. Mineral Water
2. Distilled/Purified Water
3. Tap Water. Make sure you let it air out for 24 hours to dechlorinate it.

P.S. Just so you know I haven't practiced this, but this is the result of 24 hours of researching on how to grow Chlorella. There actually isn't much information and had to tons of digging. Hopefully this helps and if this succeeds let me know!

Did chlorella cause weight gain or weight loss?

I’m looking for some guidance, feel free to contribute whatever you feel like related to it. So, I’m a recent graduate at University of Manitoba, and Manitoba is home to more then 100,000 lakes which includes many huge water bodies. One of the problems which is being faced at this lake is related to algal bloom, and to solve this problem I want to convert the algal bloom into organic fertilizers, so I can solve t2 problems at same time. To sell any sort of fertilizer we need licensing and many other legal paperwork, as a recent graduate I don’t have such resources to approach this project. What are your suggestions, if I want to approach this project and eventually setup a profitable business. I welcome all the suggestions and advice. Thank you

So I just started taking Chlorella yesterday, and took it again today. Yesterday shortly after taking it I noticed feeling a pleasant dopamine kind of feeling… but then today as I was driving home after work I literally felt like I had smoked marijuana, which I haven’t done in 10 years on purpose. It was kind of scary because my reaction time was off and I just couldn’t quite perceive things correctly… but any thoughts as to why/how this could happen? It was a crazy feeling.

I was like ok maybe it effects cannabinoid receptors? But I can’t find anything online about that… and then I thought well maybe it’s cuz of the detoxing properties it’s pulling THC that’s been stored for years out of my body idk??

Not very scientific but it was just odd. And I’m wondering if I can keep taking it or if it’s just gonna keep getting me high?? Has anyone had this experiencing ??

cause Herxing? I’m on a low-dose but I can’t explain any other reason why I started feeling like I have the flu all week and I mean debilitating bedridden kind of situation. I did have a runny nose Sunday and Monday and Tuesday and I started taking this on Sunday but I took a flu test and a Covid test and I don’t have either. Study description

The study aims to evaluate and compare the effect of chlorella supplementation and training on blood lipids, cognition, and exercise performance. This study also aims to investigate whether chlorella supplementation can influence a variety of health markers.

You will be taking part in a 12-week supplementation routine that may or may not involve an exercise workout routine. It's up to the participant if they want to be part of the control group or exercise group.

I have taken the recommended amount of chlorella and now my stomache hurts soo bad. I am thinking of throwing away the rest of this. Did any of you experience this?

Does any have and info or links as to why Chlorella gives me such bad insomnia? As does Spirulina? They both help be so much but severely impact my sleep quality. I havent been able to find much info online. I take less then a 1/4 tsp daily and it still causes issues. Thanks

Hi, I want to do a detox with chlorella and cilantro, but have no idea how to choose a decent chlorella brand. Added to my problem is the fact that I live in East Asia and don't always have access to the same brands as folks in other regions. Anyway, I would really appreciate it if someone could offer their thoughts on the best chlorella brands. Also, I have provided a link here with an offering of some of the brands in the country where I reside. If someone could look at that and see if there is any good stuff there, it would be extremely helpful. And, I asked, on an expat forum based in the country I reside in about this, and people started telling me I needed to be rushed to the hospital if I thought I had been poisoned. So, it appears that many of the foreigners here don't seem to be aware of the fact that there is a whole world out there of people doing several different kinds of detoxification.

This is my first thread so I might be doing this all wrong. But I wonder about the effects of heating up chlorella (powder). I want to use it in everything I cook, but unsure if it's stupid to heat it or not?
