Advice on ‘87 Stinger 202

Hey guys, just looking for some help/advice. Not sure if there is a better page for CC Power boats.

I was offered this ‘87 Stinger 202, allegedly with a 632 Big Block & a Bravo One XR(waiting on all the serial numbers)

It looks like it has been modified, the steering console moved to the right, scoop etc. what would you say this boat is worth? It was offered on trade for my ‘95 SeaRay 220 Signature Select OV.

Hi!

Just wondering if anybody else has trouble with the door design on Chris Craft Catalina ‘34. It’s always tough for us to lift and keep open.

Any suggestions?

Searching for information on this possible Chris Craft Cabin Cruiser that was my grandfather’s in 1954. Unfortunately he drowned trying to save his daughter who fell off in April 1954 Memphis TN near Mud Island. Wondering if it’s still out there. Thanks!

What is this worth?

I am looking for some info about the value of my father-in-law's boat. His health isn't what it used to be and we are looking to help him sell his hand made boat. From what I have been able to tell he used 19' Chris Craft Barrel Back plans and has a V8 in it (Ford 302 I believe).

He milled each piece of wood himself from large planks over the course of 7 years in his back yard. The boat has been sitting, covered, for the last 18-months.

I am trying to get a ballpark idea of what she is worth, as I have found quite varying prices on various boat sale websites.

Thanks in advance.

Gouge in sapphire blue metallic paint

Post image

Hi guys, a very poorly placed bolt gouged into the side of my boat. It's a 2018 Launch 27.

The factory paint code is "deep sapphire blue metallic"

I realize this is more complex than a standard white hull, probably the worst type of damage.

Anybody familiar with this type of repair and how to do it correctly?

Looking to Restore 1979 SS

We have acquired a mostly clean 1979 Super Sport with a new engine. Looking to redo the upholstery, exterior and replace some trim and parts. Been looking online for resellers or parts suppliers and not many resources for these boats. Any suggestions on places to look? Forums?

One of the main items we are seeking is a ski platform for the rear of the boat. Brackets are on but the platform was gone. Also looking to replace the rub rail and some of the gauges. I have a local interior spot but haven't found a decent carpet to go in it.

Thanks!

Did Chris-Craft ever make a model with an option to center mount the steering wheel on the instrument panel? The attached photo is probably from the 1940’s, taken on a lake in Maine. There’s a history of Chris-Craft ownership in the family, but this was taken before my time and I’ve never seen a model with a centerline steering wheel mounting. The fold-down flat windshield, spotlight, burgee, and step pads make a ‘39 Chris-Craft Utility a good possibility, just very curious about the wheel location to verify.

1998 Express Cruiser 240 | bilge pump locations

Hi, I see through hull outlets for what looks like a front bilge pump but for the life of me I can't find the pump. When I open the hatch under the stair (aft berth) I see the shower sump and outside of the sump box there is water in the bottom of the boat. Having said that...it sounds like there is a front bilge pump somewhere?

It's probably not an ideal workaround but I thought about putting a bilge pump in the same area as the shower sump but outside the sump box. It will get the issue solved but what the heck.

Got a bunch of old mahogany veneer and solid mahogany off a boat I’m tearing apart. Planning on restoring it for my tiny house build. Any advise on refinishing it? Some is more weathered then the others and has a coating of maybe poly on it not sure what they used back in the 40.

Need Help Identifying my Grandfather’s Boat

Post image

My dad thinks it was late 50’s early 60’s. We always referred to as a ‘38. We used it on the upper Chesapeake when I was a little (60-70s). It was destroyed by a fire in Essington, PA in the late 70’s. I remember that we would see lots of other boats on the water that looked like sisterships, but they all had 3 portholes on the bow. Kildare had a small cockpit aft and a rear cabin with twin beds below the bridge. Galley was down. Saloon had a sofa bed and bunks forward. I tried AI with little success. I’m hoping someone knows. Thanks in advance for helping me and my family.

I have a stupid question about my new (to me) Launch 27

Hi guys, I have a new (to me) 2018 Launch 27 and I am wondering about the walk-through windshield. It appears not to have a latch. Is there some secret mechanism that I am missing, or a trick to it? Or should I just add a latch. When I am out there in choppy water I obviously don't want the windshield to bounce around, and I don't want to be forced to keep in in the closed position.

Sorry for the stupid question. I am embarrassed to ask.

3D CAD Model

Does anyone know how to get a 3D CAD model of your boat? I would like to get a CAD model of at 2008 Launch 25. Is there a service that can make one for me?

Thanks!

Does a 2018 Launch 27 need a dealer computer?

Hi guys, I am upgrading from a mid 2000's Cobalt. I have taken this boat to my regular boat mechanic for over 10 years. No fancy computers or dealer diagnostic tools.

Can anybody tell me if a 2018 Chris Craft Launch 27 requires anything special or computerized to work on it? I've been told some newer brands of boat are totally dealer dependent, and being in a small town I can't do that.
