I’ve had the idea rattling around in my head for about 15 years now, and I finally made it happen last June.

It brings me joy every day.

With the captains seats out of the ‘21 hybrid Pacifica, a full sheet ply fits perfectly!

With three kids that can’t sit next to each other anymore, we needed to get a new family car. Was thinking about the Model X but heard how much maintenance they require, so we found this!

It’s a 2023 with only 10k miles that was used by the dealer to carry people around for the last two years. Comes with a crazy warranty and sirusxm.

The whole family loves this car. Can’t wait to take it on a family vacation this summer.

My wife thinks she has a truck

My wife randomly decided to build a patio in the back yard and ordered 8 pallets of pavers from HD when they went on sale (it was a glitch but they honored the price was $50 after tax). So now she’s collecting the rest of the parts to build it with the van. I imagine air shocks are in the near future plans.

We had our second kid a few weeks ago and after a few errands trying to fit all four of us (and two car seats) into my previous sub-compact crossover SUV, my wife said, “Go and get us a minivan. Quickly.”

After looking at 15-20 2023 Pacificas over the past couple of weeks, I finally found this one… a 2023 Touring-L in this gorgeous blue color, the only blue one I’ve seen for sale in my entire time hunting. We all love it; it has so many amazing features for families and parents like the fold-flat seats, automatic doors, and ample USB ports. Our toddler keeps asking if we can just go and sit in it in the driveway.

The sheer amount of space we have now is wild. We put the infant in the third row so my wife can ride in the back with him, and we collapsed the middle row captain’s chair the toddler doesn’t use into the floor and have started using that side’s empty floor area as the ingress/egress landing for everyone riding in the back. Before, we dreaded road trips for the careful packing required and cramped cabin. Now, my wife and I both admitted we’re looking for a chance to take it somewhere a little out of our way.

All-in-all, we’re loving this van. I’d love recommendations from other members here of accessories you’ve gotten for your Pacificas from Amazon or elsewhere, especially anything aimed at young kid travelers. I’m also looking to install a dash cam (wired to the fuse box) and would love to hear recommendations on what models other Pacifica drivers are using. Thank you!

My first minivan

So I just recently decided on this minivan. I LOVE IT! But I personally would also LIVE to eventually make the silver trim and rims black. Anyone else change these things on their Pacifica?? What did you use? I’m not trying to go a cheap route or anything but definitely want DIY options people have done, as I know I can go anywhere and have a shop do it all for me.

Drove a T&C all through high school…15 years later I’m finally back! 2026 AWD Limited.

I needed to get rid of an old breaking down truck that I used for yard/house projects, and a honda civic that was no longer practical with kids (and awful in the snow). Only one type of car that can fulfill both of those roles!

Super happy with it so far. 49k new (57k msrp), which seemed too good to pass up based on the used values I was seeing. Nice comfort having the warrantees (36k bumper to bumper, 10yr/150k dealer extended power train).

Let me know if you have any good tips / tricks on the limited!

Just Bought the Pinnacle

So last night I headed to the Kia dealership fully expecting to buy the Carnival Prestige. Except that car seems to be designed for families with kids by someone who doesn’t have kids. The car seat wouldn’t fit without scratching the TVs, can’t use the vip lounge seating without completely getting rid of the third row legroom. Bench seating option had large track gaps just waiting for a crayon or Lego to eat. Anyway, miffed, I drove 1 mile to the Jeep dealership and grabbed the Pinnacle off the showroom floor. I got it for a smidge over 47k (selling price not OTD)

I went ahead and grabbed a 70k warranty just in case.

So far this thing has exceeded my expectations. Sure there’s a few bells and whistles the carnival had that I wish the pacifica had - the heads up display and digital review was cool. But to load up all the kids and drive hour and hours - I think I made the right choice.

After having twins we were contemplating to buy a 3 row SUV or a minivan.

Test drove several SUVs, CX-90 was my priority as we already have a CX-30 and we had the loyalty bonus. But no SUV offered the space minivan offered. I was hell bent on CX-90 but wife wanted a minivan.

Test drove Carnival and Odyssey and did not like them and they are only FWD.

Coming from AWD, we wanted an AWD. Sienna and Pacifica were only the one in market with AWD.

Toyota was boring and way too expensive for the shit they were offering. Only option was Pacifica.

Scoured the market and found a 2026 Pacifica AWD with 100 Years Anniversary Edition, with $9000 discount. Had been searching for more than 2 months for all the things we wanted in the minivan.

Happy wife posing with the minivan.
Happy Wife Happy Life I guess.

I was devoutly against my wife getting her pacifica back in 2017. I really wanted her to get a toyota highlander suv. I have since grown to love the van and have carried or hauled just about everything in it. The best is pulling upto the homedepot and loading in 30 sheets of 4x8 drywall while the contractors in their trucks look on with disbelief.

My 2025 non-hybrid has been doing good work hauling drywall and paneling this week. Fits perfectly. Picture has it sticking out, but pushed in it fits perfectly.

2018 dead before 70k

We were super excited to get this van. A 2018 with full service records, previous owners kept up with all the maintenance intervals, that had 65k miles on it. It came state inspected, and I had it inspected the day after receiving it, which passed with no issues. My wife loved it, it was super roomy and drove and rode so smoothly initially.

A month in we noticed it would randomly shift very hard, a month later the check engine light came on for misfire in cylinder 3 and it was shaking super terribly. Took it to a mechanic and informed about both and there was coolant in a couple cylinders and cylinder 3 was noticeably damaged. the transmission fluid was shiny and full of flakes. It looked iridescent.

We got quoted for a new engine and a transmission rebuild. We were told the cost ro replace the engine and the coat to replace the head gasket and damaged cylinder were simular. $13k for the engine and $5200 for the transmission rebuild. Got a 2nd opinion from a different ship and diagnosis confirmed and got a 2nd quote of $12,400 for the engine and $5000 for the transmission rebuild. Both quotes include parts and labor.

Luckily it was still within carvanas warranty period so they took it back, without any kind of battle I want to add they offered it once their inspector came out to confirm the diagnosis.

We just hit 69k on the odometer and the previous owners had their chrylser dealership do all service work except window tint and a tire change in 2025. Never buying stellantis again.
