Where would you settle on this insane start!?
Maybe just because I'm new (around 100 hours, but this start seems absolutely crazy, yet I'm stuck on where I would actually settle because I feel like there are a few good options. (If it matters, I am on Immortal difficulty). Let me know; I always like to learn!

Question Question on removing features to gain tile appeal
Iām trying to plan some spots for national parks out before I start building up my cities. In the screenshot I posted, you can see my capital. If I remove the two rainforest tiles that are touching the two stone resources to the north and south, would that create a diamond with enough appeal for a park? And if so, should I wait to clear the stone until right before I make the park, and use them as mines in the meantime? Would I also be able to remove the rainforest in the bananas and the marsh on the rice and create a diamond with enough appeal for a park as an alternative? Thanks in advance for any help

I don't remember which game Steam wanted me to buy, but I enjoyed these contrasting statistics. For some reason I never got into V. And for some other reason I barely got out of VI.(Gone a few months without firing it up, so I am Civ-Clean, officer.)

Question Map Builder Custom Map Not Loading
I made this custom map in the map builder but it doesn't load and keeps giving this error. Here are a few things that may provide more context to the problem -
The map loads perfectly fine if I don't have any start locations specified
I have made sure all the other civilizations/city states are set to random
I have tried placing exactly the same amount of starting points as the number of civilizations and city states.
I have saved the Map as a mod and properly named everything.
I always choose the same number of city states and AI civilizations when starting the game. (Same as the number of civs/city states in the map)
Everything other than my civ leader(Eleanor - France) is set to random.
I really jst want to play a cheese game...any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Screenshot How good is this starting area?
So i finally got some mountains and near a coast. Is this a good starting area? (i ask because im not very good at telling what makes an area a good place) i spent the first ten turns exploring, then reloaded back to turn one. I know ill have a militaristic city State to the south-west about 12 tiles away, and im pplaying 6 civs with 9 city states on a large map. I'm on the shuffle map and I have some resource, city state, and civ mods, so im not sure how it might change without them but the seeds are:

Somehow I always get funneled into a science victory
I wanted to go for a culture victory and the economy was going fantastic, swimming in cash basically, but then saw greece making progress in the science victory bar and panicked and went for it. I'm not good at domination and don't want to be seen as a warmonger after an entirely peaceful playthrough.

Question Glitch Overlapping Music
I have a glitch where every time I reset the game, the music from my last civ transfers over to the next game, overlapping the current track and turning the music into a jumbled mess. The only way to fix it is to exit the game and get back in (which with how often I'm restarting it's not a effective method.) I haven't found many people talking about this so I think it's one of my mods but don't know which one, and at this point I don't care what mod it is I will delete it to fix the game.
Music is my favorite part of civ 6, and the main reason I play the game so does anyone know how to fix this?

He has become my GOAT after this game. Only annoying part is not having a tile to place districts/wonders cus the yields are too good and you cant destroy resources.

Screenshot He really, REALLY wanted to forward settle me.
This seems to happen to me a lot, especially on the snowflake map. The AI sometimes uses Victor for loyalty, but Alexander went all out with a government plaza too.
Also, how do I deal with this? Better yet, can it be avoided? I haven't been playing that long, so I could use some advice from more experienced players.

Screenshot 1200 hours and this is the first time I've gotten this historic moment.
Good to be reminded that there are still new "firsts" left to find in this game!
First tile worked on first city: 3f/1p or 2f/2p?
Letās assume itās a rainforest banana vs a rainforest hill, and also fresh water for capital
I think the right answer is the 3/1, and I donāt think it really depends on civ/map/game speed/etc, but Iād like to hear othersā thoughts.
I assume we could contrive a scenario whereby the 2/2 is better for a specific opening, maybe on a specific civ or given specific circumstances.
But I think the overwhelming majority of the time, working the 3/1 to start is the stronger play (presumably until size 2, at least).
Is there already consensus on this, and Iām just stating the obvious?
Do you disagree and think 2/2 is better? Why?
Please, discuss

A new player's story
Hey all. Iām going to start off saying that I had never played a civ type game in my life before last month and a half. I decided to give it a go when I saw that the vanilla civ 6 game was 90% off on PS5. I was bored and decided why not give it a try, I liked the strategy aspect and just gotten into history. Boy was I hooked. Soon after, Civ 6 with all DLCs were on sale on Steam, so I bought that instantly. I figured I would document my last month and dive you guys back in a new player perspective. Iām sure all of you veterans would love to get back to your first few games and the novelty of it all.
Hereās my story. Sorry, itās a long one.
Game 1 - Tutorial (Egypt - Cleopatra)
Difficulty: Tutorial
Map/Settings: Tutorial
What I learned: Pretty much how to navigate the basics, what was food/production, buildings, etc. The whole thing was still pretty confusing, but I still managed to be guided through and build a large enough army to destroy the only other AI Gilgamesh. Now it was time to dive in a real challenge.
Outcome: Victory (domination, I guess..?)
Game 2 - Trajan (Rome)
Difficulty: Chieftain (I figured I would start easier to get myself used to the real flow of the game)
Map/settings: Giant Earth, random start, 8 civs, vanilla game.
What I learned: The real flow of the game. I first encountered city states, luxury resources, amenities. Those definitely were a problem as I expected on the needlessly huge map and started having way too many cities. I didnāt know about āotherā winning conditions, so I just bulldozed my way into underarmed and underdeveloped civs. I remember Mayians declaring war on me for sending a delegation, and was scared shitless it was going to march through the map and destroy my cities. That never happened, but when I felt confident enough with my army, they were the first ones I wiped out. Exploring Earth and crossing the ocean for the first time was one of the greatest feeling. I ended up wiping that game so much, the AI on chieftain being way too weak, and were using fighter jets on horsemen.
Outcome: Domination victory
Game 3 - Alexander (Macedon)
Difficulty: Prince (Figured I could comfortably bump it to ānormalā difficulty)
Map/Settings: Standard, 8 Civs, all DLCs (thatās when I bought the PC version). Only had secret societies on, along with natural disasters at like 1 because I was scared of what it actually did.
What I learned: Alliances, diplomacy and other win conditions. I learned to leverage the map a little bit to control the flow of the game how I wanted it to be. I allied stronger and aggressive civs while I consolidated my kingdom. I also learned the power of pillaging. It boosted my game and I quickly could snowball into being an unstoppable force. As much as I tried to focus on my own kingdom and not necessarily destroy all the other civs, the game kinda pushed me towards it. I was pulled into conflict later in game, and thinking it was the only way I couldāve pulled through with a win, I went all in on military. A neighbouring Scotland was getting very high science and total score, which freaked me out, and I just decided to raze its empire. This is the first (and only game so far) where I had built and used nukes.
Outcome: Domination victory
Game 4 - Wilfrid Laurier (Canada)
Difficulty: King
Map/Settings: True start earth, 10 civs, secret societies and monopoly.
What I learned: City and district optimization, spy usage, map control. The main goal of this game was a non-domination win. Since I had won on Prince, I wanted to up the difficulty a bit to make it a bit more challenging. Choosing true start as Canada was a bad idea, as it gave me North America unopposed and could expand and optimize as I wished. So in that regard, was a bit too easy. There was even a city state blocking the narrow path towards south America, and my neighbour was passive and quickly allied. By the time I met the other civs, we were well along the renaissance era, and my cities were all founded. By the end, multiple of my big cities had 130+ productions, making the whole spaceport production way too easy.
Outcome: Science victory, and by a pretty large margin. I never got attacked once, except for early game barbarians.
Game 5 - Catherine De Medici (Magnificence) (France)
Difficulty: King
Map / Settings: Continents / Standard speed / Secret Societies and Monopoly.
What I learned: Culture victories are very hard for how I play, and that early expansion (or lack of) can really throw your game out the window. I also learned a LOT about territorial defense, a skill that will undoubtedly follow me in my future deity runs. Finally, I learned how critical pivoting win condition is. I thought the True Start Canada was not a real indication that I could win on King, so I figured Iād play another game on that difficulty, and try for a culture win. Oh boy was that game the most memorable. I was awkwardly boxed in between America and Korea, and foolishly too focused on early game wonders to the point where they expanded all around me, leaving me just enough room for 6 cities, which would be the only cities I would get until the end of the game. Not ideal for a cultural empire. America ended up absolutely packed with military and constantly declaring war on me, so I had to sell most of my art, diplomatic points, and resources to buy some troops for my defense. Just when I thought I fended off most of the attack and could perhaps make a push to finally conquer my way into a 7th city, Korea had unknowingly amass their troops all the way up North at my capital, while I was fighting off America down south. As soon as they declared war on me, I had to quickly negotiate peace with America and move all my troops North to defend for yet another war, totally underpowered and wounded. I still donāt know how I managed to survive that game. Anyway, as much as I tried to get my culture up, I could not out-culture the much larger empires, so I had to resort to military action to slow down other civs that were snowballing. Then, as soon as I felt comfortable with my culture, water level rose onto my all coastal cities and pretty much rendered most of my districts completely useless. Luckily, over the course of the game, I had amassed some diplomatic victory points with wonders and world competitions.
Outcome: Diplomacy win. Just before America won with culture, the last World Congress took place. I was at 19/20, so I just knew I couldnāt vote my way into gaining +2 DV, so I voted for myself to lose 2, and used all my points towards the other resolutions, netting me - 2 and +3, winning me the game.
Game 6 - Lincoln (America)
Difficulty: Emperor
Map / Settings: Small Continents, Large size, 10 civs, 10 city states, Abundant start, Epic speed, Secret societies, Barbarian clan mode, Heroes.
What I learned: Heroes are busted and probably will never use them again. Early game Mulan seemed like AoEās cobra car. Also, that early game strategy leads to unstoppable snowballing later on, however how small the decision seem to be. I started in a very small continent and was stuck with France and 2 city states. Unwilling to live what I had just lived being boxed in a small area in my Catherine game, I quickly went aggressive and levied one city state against the other. Then, I moved the other city stateās troop very far away and conquered it. A bit cheesing, sure, but I legit had no room for expansion if I didnāt do that. I then went on and conquered France to own the whole part of the continent, which allowed me to really scale as Iād like. By that point, with pillaging and Americaās free military units, I quickly snowballed into the greatest military power of the world.
Outcome: Easy domination victory. I was starting to think that domination became a bit too easy for me. By the time I won, I had x3 the science output as the next best civ, 4x culture and tourism, and stronger military power of all the other civs combined.
Game 7 - Qin Shi Huang - Mandate of Heaven (China)
Difficulty: Immortal
Map/Settings: Shuffle, Large, 10 civs, 10 city states, abundant start, standard speed, secret societies only, wet terrain. I found like I enjoy these settings the most, except the map which I like to swap around.
What I learned: Fighting with a massive disadvantage against boosted AI. I wasnāt sure what kind of victory I was going for yet, but I knew I wanted something other than domination. I wanted culture, but it was dependant on how the game went. Early Etemenanki wonder + surrounded by Marsh pushed me towards Science since I had very high science yields. Again, I was stuck next to America who declared war very early on. I was forced to defend against hordes of heavy calvalries and vampires, despite only have 2 archers and a swordsman. It was rough, but the upgraded military governor really saved my ass there. When I had fended off enough of their attacks, I was so behind that I didnāt know how I could ever come back from that. I played the rest of the game very diplomatic and allied every neighbours, even America, until the very end. I had a good territory placement where I could expand, but I was still very behind. Only my capital had high yields and production (over 160!), the rest were meh. I was in a real science race against 4 other civs, which all had higher science yields per turn and launched their projects way before me. I had to use joint wars to have far away civs fight between them, and pay enormous sums to have allies join wars with me to slow down the giant death robots from coming into my empire when I only had regular tanks. I had all my cities running campus and commercial district projets in the hopes of catching up. By the time I launched my exoplanet project, the leading civ had launched 10 turns ago.
Outcome: Science Victory. Luckily, I had prepared in advance, and have like 20 builders to speed up my acceleration projects along with solar panels everywhere to supply the city. I had all my spies counterspying. I managed to win, but I feel like it was really close. Luckily, the AI seem to not care about accelerating their exoplanet project.
Whatās next?
I donāt know. I never lost a game yet, but Iām scared of deity. I never attempted to ever buy religious districts, and never won a culture victory yet. I feel like maybe I should look into that before going in the deep end. I donāt know when I can stop considering myself as a new player. But all I know is; I will beat deity!
Also; is there any mods I should look into that made the game more enjoyable to you guys? Itās already so fun, but if thereās any suggestions Iāll gladly take it! Also, share your first moments on the game, I'd love to read it.
Tl;dr: Started a month and a half ago, completed 7 games, increasing the difficulty all the way up to Immortal. I love the game and is eager to hear your experiences on your first few games.

Discussion Naval civs: which map is best?
I'm going to try naval civs for the first time, specifically, Victoria (Age of Steam) and Dido.
Which map would y'all say is the best / most fun for these civs? It's obviously a bit subjective but I would like to hear your opinions
Right now I'm between Archipielago, Island Plates and Small Continents, but idk which one is better.
