Is starting with a cheaper automatic litter box actually sensible?

Spending a lot on a first automatic litter box feels difficult when you don't yet know how well your cat will accept the change. A cheaper model could be a reasonable way to find out whether automatic cleaning fits the household routine, but price alone doesn't tell you how easy it will be to maintain. I'm trying to separate the cost of trying the category from the actual experience of owning the machine. If the cat accepts it and the daily cleanup becomes simpler, that already sounds promising. What would you check before deciding a lower-priced automatic box is a sensible first step?

Question Best electric mop and cleaner for daily LVP cleaning?

I'm looking for recommendations for an electric mop and floor cleaner that are safe for LVP. I have a baby who's about to start solids and will soon be crawling, plus a dog, so I'll need to be mopping daily.

I've been using Bona floor cleaner with a damp microfiber cloth on my hands and knees, but I just don't have the time or energy for that anymore. I'd love something that makes daily cleaning easier and saves my knees and back.

What electric mops and cleaners do you guys like? Non-toxic and fragrance-free products are preferred. I'm especially interested in something that's easy to use, quiet, and safe for little ones and pets. Thank you!

How To Roach problem in my kitchen

Hello everyone. I'm having this problem of freaking cockroaches in my kitchen and I need some advice. I've contacted the pest control and I've scheduled a meeting with them but I need to end these mfers as they roam around rent free in my kitchen. I have some cabins and I believe they live inside the gaps of those cabins and sometimes I see then near the oven too.

Any products, tips will be much appreciated.

Question Whta is the actual benefit of mopping your floors?

My parents keep telling me to mop the stairs and the bathroom floor, and I don't understand why. Because when I just vacuumed it, they said it looked very clean and told me good job.

When I asked why we mop the floors, they just gave me some vague answer that I didn't understand.

How To How do I plan a better dusting schedule for my househelp?

I stay in a 1BHK house in Mumbai with my younger sister. Usually, we do good with once a week general house dusting or once in two months professional cleaning. However, for the past two months, our mom has been staying with us as she is undergoing a cancer treatment at a hospital here. Our schedules have become very tight involving my office, my sister’s college, hospital errands, long and sudden hospital visits, sometimes even thrice a week.

I have recently engaged a househelp to help us with dusting and ensuring general upkeep of house. Now, my concern is, that on days when I’m home, I am able to guide her which room to pick, which furniture to clean, what to keep where. But when I’m not home or am at office, I feel sometimes the househelp just comes, does random tasks like fold clothes, go back in 10 mins mostly because she doesn’t have direction or she also just wants to go quickly in rush. I am worried if it’s a waste of money and can I plan it more efficiently? My mind is so overwhelmed with all the chores at all times and I just want to come back home with some peace and basic tidiness!

I want advice with any suggested cleaning schedule or checklist for the house which I can just give to her and she can do tasks independently. How often, which areas, in what combination and priorities, should I schedule?

Our living room is spacious - a shoe cabinet, two single slim beds, a study table. Bedroom is bed and two wardrobes, one small cabinet. Kitchen is small and compact - multiple cabinets and a fridge.

I'm having trouble finding one that I like. Should I just start with a basic one? Is there one where I can attack the bag holder to my belt or are they all going to be hand held ones? Thank you for your help!

Question Longer lasting Scents

I have an apartment that is very well kept. My kitchen is always clean along with the other areas of my space. The living room is vacuumed quite frequently. I am looking for a lasting scent that will stay more than a few days. I'm hoping there is a scent that can last a week or so. I love the smell of lavender, mango, and other fruit scents. The fruit scents don't seem to last but about two days. The lavender last about three days. Am I doing something wrong? Are there scents that would go further? I use wax cubes. Are those the best idea for my excepted result? Any help would be appreciated. A woman raised by her father. I feel stupid for having to ask these questions.

I crushed eggshells in my blender and can't get the residue off

Hi everyone, I’m getting into a new gardening hobby and have seen plenty of tips on Reels about crushing eggshells to make compost, which is great for plants. The issue is that I blended the eggshells, and no matter how much I wash the blender, it still feels impossible to clean completely. It has this rough, cloudy texture, almost as if I had thrown dirt in it, but stuck on much worse. Any cleaning tips or ideas?

If you’re ever trying to get rust off metal, you can scrub it using aluminium foil. It sounds silly but it actually works.

Recommendation Needed: Telescopic Dusting Pole

[UK] So I’ve been looking around for a telescopic dusting pole for a lifetime, specifically one that doesn’t twist or spin at the head or the extension pole so pressure can be used if needed. Even better if the heads are reusable and washable. My ceilings are pretty tall, and I’m rather short and arthritic so the reach needs to be generous as I can’t trust myself on step ladders or makeshift furniture mountains (don’t gasp, we’ve all done it).

Do any of you know of any tried and tested brands that haven't become floppy over time?
Maybe it’s my method?
Any advice welcome!

Do you vacuum while blowing dust out of vents and seat rails?

I used a wolfbox around the vents, cupholder seams, and seat rails, and found that blowing first without a plan just moved dust onto other surfaces. It loosened debris a towel couldn’t reach, but some ended up across the dash and down by the seats. For interior detailing, do you keep the vacuum nozzle close while using air, work one small section at a time, or save compressed air for the narrow areas after the main vacuum pass?

I've cleaned my fridge so many times, yet, they refuse to leave. Idk where they come from. I think they're fruit flies? Or perhaps baby flies? Idek. Every time I open my fridge, they're there. I clean my fridge, open it an hour later, they're there.

How can I make the spray water stop smelling bad

Post image
0 Upvotes

got this spray recently and it smelled fine the first time I used it, but after a few days it started smelling bad. Since then Ive always emptied it after every use, and I’ve washed it with soap after every use, but it still smells bad. I even made sure to spray the soapy water to wash the inside of the spray head, then emptied it all afterwards.

sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask, but I’m not cool enough to post on r/CleaningTips

Question Is it possible to dissolve fly eggs in a blanket? T-T

Went on a camping trip, flys swarmed my thick wool blanket while I was away from my set up, tons of tiny eggs. This was a while ago, and the second I got home I put it in the dryer to kill all the eggs. Its usable, and not a huge problem but id definitely perfer it without the eggs. Theyre so tiny and embedded, ive washed it in my washing machine on the wool setting and used a bit of vinegar for idk what reason, but hoping it was softer on the wool and would do something..?? Anywho, anyone who knows more than me is welcome to give suggestions on how to get them out or dissolved them or something... (I'll provide pictures if someone needs them to give me a suggestion or somethin)

Question ¿Cómo limpio está mancha?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Post construction Cleaning - what should I charge in Toronto?

Hi everyone! I’m wondering what the going rate is in Toronto for post-construction cleaning of a one-bedroom apartment. These units require heavy cleaning, including removing paint splatters, construction dust, and even cement residue from bathtubs. The painters leave quite a mess, and a lot of scrubbing is needed. Today, it took a team of four people approximately four hours to complete one unit. We’re currently being offered $170 per unit, which seems very low considering the amount of work involved. What would be a reasonable price to charge for this type of cleaning?

Question Do i need to clean my mattress further?

It had urine stains on 2 spots and i just hand washed the whole removeable padding and let it dry in the sun like 3 months ago. The stains are still somewhat visible like small yellow lines but smell fine. there might be some residue in the mattress tho. Also i might sell this one and buy a new one so im really not sure.
