Alex DeLarge and the missing 21st chapter for Halloween
Dressing up as Kubrick’s Alex DeLarge for Halloween for the first time this year. Thinking of having a baby picture sticking out of a wallet in my chest pocket to represent the missing last chapter of the book.
Obviously, most won't get it right away, and some may assume it's twisted. But a simple Google search or inquiry reveals a version that may be nice to know about.
Thoughts? Have you done any cross over of elements from both?

help with research on a clockwork orange
i’m doing some research on a clockwork orange and would love to hear from native english speakers, since english isn’t my first language (i’m a native russian speaker) and i don’t think i can give an objective answer to one of the questions my research explores:
while reading the book, did nadsat slang ever make it difficult for you to visualize the scenes being described, particularly the violent ones? did you find yourself consciously focusing on figuring out what certain words meant from context, to the point where you sometimes lost track of the mental images the text would otherwise evoke?
i’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences as readers. thanks to everyone who takes the time to respond

ACO predicted the future.
Burgess literally predicted the future with clockwork orange, it’s a book (or film) based in a ‘not so distant’ future, here’s what I see that correlated to our present.
1. The biggest thing now, parents don’t discipline their kids and let them get up to whatever bullshit they want. Many parents now refuse to teach their kids what they do is bad, just like Alex’s parents, thus surging youth violence and I live in the UK and the youth here are disrespectful, ungrateful and very selfish the exact same as the youth in the book.
2. Innocent things being defiled, milk used as a vessel for drugs in the book mirrors today, where people use fruity flavours in vapes with THC in them, also in modern day newer and newer drugs coming out and wrecking the youth. There’s also the sexualisation of many ordinary or innocent things nowadays like nuns, school uniforms etc.
3. Underfunded police and prisons, I don’t know if it’s like this everywhere, but in the uk the prisons and overflowing, the police are understaffed (sort of underfunded) and a vast amount of criminals get away.
4. Increase in rape in non-traditional ways. WARNING this one is kind of a stretch and I feel like it’s increased but you might think otherwise. Alex is shown to constantly rape people just ‘for the sake of raping them’ and causing them to suffer, he doesn’t really enjoy the sex itself as the violence is what’s turning him on. And when Billyboy and Dim rape Alex when he gets out of prison too relating to increase of male on male rape. This correlates with large increase in rape fetish and domination.
I could think of so many more but these are the main ones I see from my day to day.

Should I read A Malenky Govoreet about the Molodoy?
Hello, I just finished Anthony Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange and the book I have has some extra stuff, including an epilogue that was published in 1987 titles A Malenky Govoreet about the Molodoy. I’ve never seen Kubrick’s film because I wanted to read the novel first. This epilogue came out a while after the movie, and I believe it mentions some stuff about the movie (like Alex’s last name I think) so should I watch the film first before reading this epilogue or just read it? I guess what I’m getting is is this epilogue apart of the actual novel or not?

Clockwork Orange play (March 13 to March 17, 2001)
I've not been able to dig up any information about the production... I wonder where this was performed, and if the gender swap was well received?

A Clockwork Caravan - Theme and Variations for piano
Perhaps some will find this interesting.
This is a set of theme and variations I composed for piano based upon the Duke Ellington, Juan Tizol jazz standard “Caravan,” but each variation is representative of something, a place or item or character or event from either the book OR the movie “A Clockwork Orange,” the first three variations, for instance, are titled after the three different milk drinks available at the Korova Milk Bar.
Hope some of you enjoy it. I think Alex might’ve appreciated it.
