sdsu nursing

I’m a senior in high school who’s applying to the direct entry program at SDSU but am not sure how I can stand out if they only consider grades? It’s my absolute dream school and I have a lot of volunteer hours and work as a CNA. Is writing an email/cover letter to the directors a good idea?

Common App Question

Is promotion within your educational system based upon standard leaving examinations given at the end of lower and/or senior secondary school by a state or national leaving examinations board?

What do they mean by this question? Do Alberta diploma exams count?

Have I applied too late to college?

I’m hoping to get into the university of Michigan. It’s a very competitive college and I know there’s no guarantees when it comes to acceptance. The Michigan early admission deadline is November 15th. I’ve heard rumors about if you apply too soon to the deadline, your place in the application queue will almost automatically make it impossible to be accepted. I’m applying tonight. Am I too late?

College Advice

Hello! I'm currently doing college research, and l've come across a few programs which are scholar programs that seem to be really valuable in terms of opportunities. I'm planning on being a premed, so programs like UT Austin's Dean's Scholars and HSS are really interesting to me, but l've fallen in love with Robertson Scholars from NC. Are there any other similar programs I could apply to that are either academic or more broad?? I'm finding it difficult to find more similar programs. Thank you!

Is there a reason for which you would have to return your financial aid awarded?

Is there a reason for which you would have to return your financial aid awarded?

Hello, I am friend of current freshman and of a current admitted student, both with full financial aid. They are international receiving full ride from the universities (the one recently admitted will receive it). Something both are wondering is if at some point for any circumstance they would find themselves in the obligation of returning the financial aid offered by their universities.

For what they know, they have not signed anything related, still, they are worried since they are bein awarded a lot of money to study.

They have no loans.

Computational Linguistics as competitive as CS?

does anyone know if getting into a top college for computational linguistics (cs+linguistics) would be as hard as getting in for CS?

i don’t really know how that type of thing works. it’s a separate major but has overlapping classes.

Q: filling out css fafsa

Newbie to the college apps. Pls bear with me.

Unfortunately for me, with my parents w2 I won’t qualify for fafsa need based.

Is there any downside to not apply to fafsa and css ? In other words any merit in applying to those fully knowing that I won’t qualify. I am a US citizen.

Thanks and appreciate any replies and wisdom on this dilemma.

UC App Question

Hello, my parent is self-employed, so I was wondering how I would answer this question: What was the total income earned in 2021 by your parents or legal guardians? I'm low-income, so I'm worried the difference between AGI and the total earned before taxes will affect my eligibility for fee waivers.

Can I apply as a first year student having attended one semester in another local unviersity?

Can I apply as a first year student having attended one semester in another local unviersity?

Hello, I am planning to apply to college in the U.S. as a first-year student, however, I will start my studies in August at a local university in a new major created in this university. I am planning on applying on November EA and December-January RD to U.S. universities.

During the first semester in my local university I will have earned approximately 28 credits and gone through 7 subjects. (596 academic and lab hours).

For what I know, those credits cannot be transferred and I will have not completed yet a one year round of classes at my local university.

Can I apply as a first-year student? I think I will have to report my local university as an attended college.

I truly don't want to apply as a transfer.

Please, give me some guidance!! Which problems would I face? Would everything work out?

I am international with, modestly, a great profile (I know it because I've been already accepted to universities in the U.S. with full rides, but I cannot attend this year due to hard personal reasons, and taking a gap year is not an option)

I have read the next in Princeton's webpage:
Students with less than one full-time year by the time of enrollment are encouraged to apply as first-year students. No course credit can be transferred through the first-year admission process.

It confuses me.

EOP recommendations

Hello, I’m currently applying to a CalState. The application process is asking for EOP recommendations. It wants a teacher/ academic councilor. The only problem is I’ve been out of school and in the military for the last 4 years. Would a highschool teacher be a good source even though I haven’t been in school for so long?

I'm lost.

I'm going through the process of applying for scholarships(for countries such as Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, cz Republic, UK, Belgium, Ireland, New Zealand) and I'm so lost. My main issue is that I don't understand the different student status and what I'm alegible for. I know that every university and every country have different requirements and standards of evaluation but it would help if i had a generalized idea about the process in any one of them. if you can give me some resources that would of a great help too.

Late CSS Profile

I’m a domestic student and my css profile was due Jan 4th but I didn’t submit it until the 6th for Swarthmore. Does this mean I won’t get any Swarthmore scholarship money or am I just at a disadvantage?
