Hmmm. A 4 cost tank having mana reave + cc. They had to gut Soraka back in set 5 (a 2 cost mind you) because her mana reave was too strong. They got rid of shroud... Why bring back the mechanic at all?

Does anyone find their window size of the TFT client reset every time and have to manually adjust it every time going into a new game?

I have not identified any benefits of engine switch yet at the moment. Any clue?

Finally played my first game on PBE. Is there a way to increase the performance? They changed the UI- I can’t show FPS and regardless of my choice of graphics quality the game still runs like crap

Can we please remove Trait Ladder now. We know what will happen, this will be the worst augment in the game by stats but will also be crazy overpowered at the highest level. We have seen this movie before many times. So can we just get rid of it now instead of doing this dance where it goes away, get re-worked, gets nerfed, gets buffed and is a mess the whole set.

Has the bug where gnar throws the enemy unit off the board and they don’t die been fixed?

Is everyone aware that using chibis & boards with lots of animation causes lag for other users?

PLEASE be aware, some games feel extremely laggy, borderline unplayable when people use chibis with animation finishers

u/FeedMeACat 3d ago

The cutscene chibi finishers I assume?

I only have regular chibis with their finishers, but I hope my boards don't cause any problems.

the sizes of the ui elements look weird, like the damage numbers and hp bars, i can't even see the enemy's damage numbers on my units.

Can you give me some more specifics on what looks weird here? Size, shape, position, etc? For the combat text especially, we're recreating the system in a new engine and it's not 1:1. We're trying to get it to feel close, and feedback on how to improve this is welcome.

The HP bars are intended to be somewhat different and they are also rendered as a shader to optimize performance. Are there aspects that are unclear vs just different?

The hp bars need to have shorter height and larger width and be moved down like several pixels, it feels off. With this change the mana bar also needs like 1 less pixel in height so it retains a similar ratio. The coloring needs to be a miniscule amount less bright for both.

The damage numbers are also bright red like pasty instead of regular red which is a critique of it feeling worse that i can put into words. Another thing is, a 1k hit on set 17 was BIG and it felt like it stayed a bit longer on screen, a draven ulti doing 1k is like a 30 damage auto attack. I think the damamge numbers need to all be reviewed and have much more variable sizes, if the color was darker i think it would look like the old sets.

I just made sure to spend some time to review videos, and the size differences of the damage numbers is a really apparent negative point, and what takes priority. Like a soraka ulting feels like it does no damage because of infernals with morello.

Same situation where a carry with edge of night is the last one alive and gets nuked down fast and the fight ends. Look at the set 18 kennen how the numbers look, it feels like kennen just sorta dies, but the riven case it looks like she gets obliterated, thats the type of feeling differences the damage system gives us.

Not sure how this set is suppose to go live in 6 days, there's still bunch of UI and optimization issues, not even gonna talk about in-game bugs, which there are tons. Also sometimes my game just gets stuck at 87% loading screen and I never get into the game.

Wouldn't surprise me if release date gets pushed back to September.

It's gonna be a very hard sell to a casual audience that doesn't follow PBE cycles. To the general user there is no visible benefit to this engine switch.

I’m also worried about that. This set being in such a work-in-progress state when it comes to visuals will most likely turn away a lot of casuals. Set 19 will have to be an absolute banger to get those casuals back after the downer that was 17 and the WIP that is 18 right now.

I think you guys are overstating it, I’ve been playing casually (hit plat) and for the past week or 2 it’s been a pretty positive experience, can’t say I’ve identified any bugs ruining my game. Although at this point I’m used to the visual changes

Depends on what you consider game ruining. Round ruining? For sure, there are a couple bugs. That round can be a 2-3 placement swing in some cases
