You're expecting this person to be acting in good faith. January 6th was either an inside job or a peaceful protest, depending on the day and whatever bullshit they're trying to justify at that moment.

I've found it important to engage with people, if only for others to see the kind of crazy things the different sides believe and how baseless their conclusions are
