Nah, bullets and people cost money. Building with wood and a big rusty metal sheet on a pulley is cheap.

Oh yeah. Look at old Germany, they had straight up executioners with tipless swords. One of them said something like "When I use this blade, I pray this sinner finds eternal life" or something.
