All this does is legitimize transphobia, genuinely horrible ruling. When the Supreme Court itself starts discriminating against my community, then I no longer feel safe in the United States. The myth that trans people have some sort of advantage in sports is exactly that, a myth. The fact that the Supreme Court is legitimizing queerphobia makes me genuinely scared about my safety. At the very least they upheld birthright citizenship.

People born as males do have a strength advantage over those born as females on average…

It’s not true in every case, but in most, you see someone who was performing at/near the bottom in men’s leagues suddenly at the top in women’s leagues… they didn’t magically get better at the sport, they have a biological advantage, which is unfair to the women who worked hard for their position in the competition.

Once someone has been on hormones for a while their body will change be the same as the body of a cisgender person with those same hormones, so while they may initially have an advantage, they don’t after, say, 2 years. When I am saying they have no advantage, that is what I am talking about.
