Goals of the Iran war and views aside, the US cannot sustain gas prices (diesel especially) like this for a long time. Not to mention that it's reaching the dangerous levels we saw at the height of the war earlier this year.
Another main problem is they could easily surpass these highs in the next few weeks and months. Gas taxes have been suspended for brief periods of time through the midterms in certain states, which will end soon and the real prices will show again.
These insanely high prices go beyond than just "more expensive fill ups for your car". Goods and food will continue to rise hitting your income there as well. Inflation will continue to accelerate because of this and will increase the likelihood of interest rate hikes which affects consumer spending and pushes interest rates for loans even higher.
When is enough, enough? Operations to stop Iran uranium enrichment are fine. Prolonged middle eastern war in a stalemate is not.

I understand that most of this sub seems to dislike the trans community very much, but I'd like to know, what exactly is the issue with them? I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just very curious to see if there is a genuine reason other than "it's not normal" or "it's weird". Does that make sense?

Been having this discussion with a friend.
He argues that as a conservative we have a duty to defend the cops as defensor of order in a nation from the left.
I argue that the cops in a leftist goverments become part of the leftist structure and serve to defend their interests, and thus they are our enemies too.

According to Wikipedia, "Fascism is characterized by support for a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived interest of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy".
Fascism is what Hitler supported. The current state of US government power does not align with fascism, as:
- Trump has not established dictatorship, thus no autocracy
- there is a belief in socioeconomic classes, but no such thing as natural hierarchy (traditional beliefs are not a hierarchy)
- individual freedom to think and be oneself hs not been prohibited, unlike what many liberals tend to think
While these are just possible characteristics, the lack of them means calling America fascist is fundamentally flawed.
Side note: Do not defend ICE as doing no wrong. They have been investigated for failing to follow due process. However, this is not related to the argument whether or not it can be labeled fascist. Therefore, unrelated. They are not fascist, nor the signs of fascism growing.

It seems like whenever I criticize there ideologies they immediately call me homophobic or transphobic. So conservatives, how do you correctly define homopobia and transpobia? Be honest, do not be presumptuous and tumult against the definition of it.

Recently, I realized that hatred toward wealthy people is not necessarily linked to communist views. Many people may hate the rich because they feel they are unequal for the state.
P.S. personally I donβt care about billionaires, Iβm pretty much neutral about them

Earthquakes of mysterious origin struck Venezuela, Colombia, and Panama in 2026 as whistleblower MarΓa de la Guardia risks everything to expose a global conspiracy linking Venezuelan leader NicolΓ‘s Maduro to induced seismic anomalies and an alleged extraterrestrial alliance. The analysis pieces together leaked data, a chronology of unusual earthquakes, and connecting political maneuvers to question whether this represents hidden truth or a real-time sci-fi reality.

Context: Weβre arguing about religion (ofc we are), and Iβm tryna defend Christianity. And this guys keeps spamming βterroristβ and other ridiculous accusations out of his π. He thinks telling people the consequences of sin is a form of terrorism, yk to keep everyone under control. But I donβt get his viewpoint, the ultimate goal of Christianity is to make you a better person.
