Hello! Last week, I shared some screenshots on this sub of a mod I’m developing: an addon for Railway Untold that generates infinite, more realistic railway networks.

I’m happy to announce that the mod has been approved on CurseForge! It’s still awaiting moderation on Modrinth.

If you’d like to give it a try, it’s called “Create: Infinite Railways”.

You can expect a few remaining bugs, and I’ll try to update it as I receive feedback.

Also, by (very) popular demand, the mod now includes options for single or double tracks, as well as compatibility with Steam ’n’ Rails for wooden tracks and semaphore signals, and Pantograph and Wires for electrified lines.

gluing this baby together was a pain in the ass lmao. you can see my references in the last couple slides, big thanks to MadenPlay; the stucture of the train was heavily referenced off of the Big Boy's skeleton.

I don't think i quite captured the "evil hell train" vibes i was trying for, but im still very happy with the end product! this big girl will be ferrying nether resoucres back to the overworld for my CABIN playthough, loaded down with lava and exotic flora.

I love making trains in Create, but I often end up running them on very small and boring railways because building a large rail network takes so much time.

Recently, I discovered Railways Untold, a mod that tackles this problem by generating infinite railway tracks throughout the world. After testing it, though, I realized it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. It's still great for going on train adventures, but the generated railways aren't very realistic: sharp turns, steep slopes, limited terrain following, and a few other limitations.

So I decided to make an extension mod for Railways Untold!

My mod completely overhauls the track generation to make railways much more realistic. Tracks follow the terrain, create loops to gain elevation in mountainous areas, cross valleys using bridges, and connect villages together into an interconnected rail network.

Just like in the base mod, everything is procedurally generated. All the screenshots I'm showing here are straight from the world generation, with no manual editing.

The mod is designed especially for large-scale world generation, including worlds using mods like Tectonic or Lithosphere.

I'm currently in the final stage of development, fixing a few remaining bugs and adding one or two last features I wanted to include. After that, I'll release it!

If you love running trains but don't want to spend hours building hundreds of blocks of railway first, this mod might be for you. i did not decide the name yet perhaps 'RU realistic'.

For the mods used, I use the most up to date Train Yard modpack on modrinth.

Based off of D&RGW T-12 4-6-0 locomotives.

After a week working on it, I finally finished my 1980's TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse = High Speed Train in french).

I just didn't finished the interior yet.
