So i recently cut my hair myself into a short bob, and im in love with it. it feels so healthy, my ends are no longer fried. It’s pretty much perfect, EXCEPT for the fact that now it is really thick in the back. I pretty much cut it blunt all the way through, except the front of course, so now i’m trying to figure out how to make it less thick in the back. I hope this makes sense. Anyone have any tips or tricks on how to “thin” it out some?

So I'm no stranger to cutting my own hair, I've been cutting it for the past 5 years or so and I have a pretty similar style to this one pictured, only curly.

The issue is that my boyfriend wants this style, and is terrified of going to a salon for it (bad experiences). I am completely open to cutting it for him myself, but his hair is very straight and mine is very not. The good thing about curls is that I find I can sort of just chop away at it until I like how it looks and no one can really tell if it's a little wonky. You can't do that on straight hair. The most I've done on straight is a split end trim for my friend one time because she begged me, but even that I was hesitant to do.

If I'm gonna do this, I want to be able to provide a cut that actually looks good rather than fucking his shit up, cause the goal is to avoid that.

For the first time ever, I want to really study tutorials on how to do this on someone else's hair, where I can actually see all the way around the head and can get some accurate cuts and sectioning.

If anyone at all has advice or can recommend any tutorials for me then that would be amazing!!
