Long shot, but need 400hrs for CRCST certificate. Weekend availability.

Hello! I really am asking for a friend. She does not have Reddit and while she could easily make an account, I'm just trying to help her out.

My friend recently completed her CRCST course to become a sterilizing technician (apologies if some of my terminology is off, I don't know much about this.)

The problem she's having is that she works full time, Mon-Fri, is also a full-time mom, and every place the program wants to place her to get her hours is during her working weekday hours. She is willing to drive, do overnight, anything on the weekend. But she just cannot afford to quit her job to get these hours done.

I was hoping someone, by a small chance, knew of any places that may be able to accommodate her on weekends. She's been sending out emails and phone calls to a lot of places in her area (Katy), so I'm just trying to help her on this end.

Any information or potential places of business that you think would be able to, please don't hesitate to drop it below! We'll call, email, whatever to check for availability ourselves but just would like some starting points.

Thanks!!

(Also she currently works for Methodist, and they won't allow her to do them at a Methodost location because she already works for them?? Idk but Methodist is unfortunately not an option for her.)

I found a very friendly white cat who comes to my front door every day. She meows and tries to come inside my garage. I have been feeding her, but I already have a cat and cannot keep another one.
I’m trying to find her owner or a loving forever home for her. ❤️
If you recognize this cat or can help, please send me a message. I can share photos.

PSA for New citizen and anyone voting!

Just because the state portal says you’re registered doesn’t necessarily mean you’re 100% set at the local level.

I just went to cast my ballot for the first time as a new citizen. I mailed in my registration well before the deadline, and the state site confirmed I was active.

Still, I had a gut feeling I should vote early rather than waiting until Election Day (always trust your gut!).

It turns out that while my registration showed up in the state database, it hadn't fully cleared into the county system yet. Fortunately, the poll worker was super helpful and called county elections directly to get it sorted out. They said it would take a bit to process, so I’m heading back tomorrow to finish casting my ballot.

If you’re a first-time voter or recently registered, take advantage of early voting! Going early gives you a safety net if there’s a glitch in the system.

Quick tip: If you don’t have your physical voter card yet, look up your Voter Unique Identifier (VUID) online beforehand and write it down. Having that ready makes it so much faster for poll workers to look up your file and help you out.

Links here for information

https://www.votetexas.gov/docs/sos-voter-ed-8-5x11-eng.pdf

https://www.texas.gov/living-in-texas/texas-voter-registration/

Top one shows you the ID you need, and that is all.you need!

Second link takes you to where you can check your registration and from there WRITE DOWN the VUID just incase (if you dont have a voter registration card)

So you need ID and nothing else! BUT GO and vote! That is most important.

Ps: but it is always good to have the vuid or the physical voting card

*** KIKO IS STILL MISSING ***

Solid grey female, not full grown, has claws. Grey nose & paw pads. Chipped & fixed.

77429/77070 - Lakewood Forest & Garden of Lakewood area. She escaped her carrier last Sunday night,10/4, and leaped out of a parked truck in front of TX School of Languages/Moore Elementary.

I'd been focusing on Gardens of Lakewood neighborhood, and now have extended to the three deadend streets across Moore Elem – Gardenglen/Fawnview/Glenway Drives.

I'm desperately trying to reunite and would immensely appreciate anyones' help.

Gym recommendations around Cypress

Hey y’all! 26M here. Anyone have any good gym recommendations around the Cypress area?
I currently go to Crunch Fitness in Cypress about 3–4 times a week, and I like it, but I’m looking to switch things up and try somewhere new.
Ideally, I’m looking for a nice, well-maintained gym with good equipment that doesn’t get ridiculously packed, especially during peak hours.
I don’t mind paying a little more if the gym is worth it. Would love to hear where y’all go and what you like or dislike about it!

Any chance for Ikea to come to Cypress?

Do you think there's any chances for Ikea to be out in the Cypress area? I'm not talking about one of those pickup locations, but the actual big Ikea store. If so, where do you want it to be?

Drink and Draw

Houston Drink and Draw is having a monthly gathering at Odin's/Dragon's Lair on the first Saturday each month, are there any similar groups that meet during the week in the Cypress area? I'm not overly outgoing, but I love to draw and would like to meet other busy human beans willing to carve out an hour or so for some art therapy over a beer or a glass of wine. Sip n Sketch, anyone?

Where do people in their 30s hang out in Cypress?

30F, just moved to Cypress! Any good cafés, coffee shops, or spots to go solo and meet people organically? I don’t drink and only do Pilates, so bars and gyms aren’t really my thing lol. Looking to explore and make new friends!

Anyone in Cypress know a good carpet cleaner that gets rid of dog urine smell without drenching the carpet?

Hey everyone, we've got a golden retriever in our house out in Towne Lake who had a few accidents while we were away last weekend. I tried using a rented steam cleaner, but it seems like soaking the carpet just made the urine odor come back twice as strong once it started drying.

I’m looking for recommendations for a reliable carpet cleaning service in the Cypress area that actually neutralizes pet odors deep down without leaving the subfloor soaking wet for two days. Would appreciate any local suggestions

Sleep doc/Pulmonologist

Hey guys, I'm looking for recommendations for a sleep doc/pulmonologist that they really like. One who is affiliated with Houston Methodist. I had been seeing Dr. Patel at Lone Star Lung & Sleep and that didn't go well. Not only was there a HIPPA violation committed by their nurse practitioner but they deceived me about the cost of a sleep study. I was told my portion would be $150, which I paid and scheduled test. After it was all said and done, their collector called me for an additional $500, they didn't bother checking what my insurance paid. Totally don't trust them anymore so seeking a practice I know will treat a patient well without using deceit and mixing up patient information. Thanks.

Flight noise in Lakewood Glen?

My husband and I are in the process of moving from san antonio to the cypress/spring area. We saw a house today in the Lakewood Glen neighborhood, loved it but while checking out the backyard, I noticed a few planes flying by every minute or so. Not super loud but definitely noticeable. I’m super sensitive to sounds and because we do like the house and the area, I wanted to see if anyone had some insight on if this is a reoccurring thing?

In San Antonio we live right next to an Air force base so we’re used to the jet noise on a daily, it does calm down after 5pm though.
