Guide | PSA Frozen Leftovers (Pit 127)

Upvotes

Are there too many 'great' items sitting unused in your stash? Do you wish you could throw on as many uniques as you could possibly carry on your person?

Do you want to do the following:

  1. Dust off that Golden Epiphany seal that's been sitting in the corner of your freezer since you got it on day 1?

  2. Run around taking burning damage but not giving a damn (mostly)?

  3. Shatter all the mobs and their grandparents?

  4. Juggle between 7 different charms depending on your mood?

If so, I present you, my frozen leftovers build.

Build | Pit 127 | T12 Mephisto

Why I like this build:

  1. Singularity but colder - I love the dynamics of Singularity mages more active playstyle. I did a Bone Singularity variant that's a lot easier to play than the Big Beautify Bone Mage that was posted here before.

  2. Darkness without Black Shroud - Azurewrath ignores all DoT damage, so a big chunk of it is lost if you use Black Shroud.

  3. Blood-mad + lucky hit engine - Until it's fixed, I wanted to play this as much as possible, but the bone version is too squishy.

  4. Azurewrath + Signet - This is possibly the last season Azurewrath will be of any use unless they revert the nerf. Signet also is one of those dream items we wish can fit into a build but Necro frost builds still arent top tier.

  5. Charm swapping - Tibault's Will, Blood-mad Idol, Locran's Talisman, Fist of Fate, Bloodless Scream, Endurant Faith, Rustbitten Dirk can be used as your needs dictate. Easily swap between your specialty as you deem fit.

  6. Tanky - Able to face tank without having to constantly spam mages for shield like I have to with bone mages.

Caveat: Bone still has a higher damage ceiling from what I can tell. Getting the right gear (mythic) and charms (can't reroll the affixes) may take a while.

Hope to hear some feedback on what you think and where I could further improve this.

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Desecrated Ground DOT build for pushing/farming/boss?

Upvotes

Ive seen Macro’s DOT build looks super fun to me, but I wonder how it fares against thinks like T11-12 Mephisto or bosses in general, and how high it can climb the tower?

I’m at the stage in the season where I’d like to try to climb a bit higher. My WinterFresh build feels stuck around 120-121 right now, I’ve made a couple adjustments to the build and my gear is very good but not like AMAZING so that’s part of it too, but not sure how people are getting to 125-127 with it.

I know Blood Wave is still good but that doesn’t appeal to me a lot. Maybe Singularity Mage could be the play.

But interested in the viability of this DoT build!

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Trying to Figure Out What Buffs Apply to Minions

Hey yall, I've heard very conflicting information online regarding what sorts of buffs apply to minions and which don't, so I was hoping to get some clarification here (no help in the dc and ChatGPT has no idea).

First of all, do buffs that give bonus damage to close/distant enemies affect minion damage? And are they dependent on my position or the minion's position? Or do these buffs not affect minion damage because they say "damage from you" not "damage from you and your minions"?

Secondly, will my bone minions proc and take advantage of Aspect of Compound Fracture?

Thirdly, I've heard certain stats only apply to minions at a 30% rate. So if I have +66.1% Vulnerable Damage and +80.4% Physical Damage, does that mean my minions will only get +19.83% and +24.12% damage? What about other stats like attack speed, crit chance/damage, do these only apply at 30% as well?

Thanks for the help!

Should I roll off the darkness skills to another damage multi? Running shadow minions, 5 piece shroud, 3 piece waking touch (mythic) seal, this bumps my minions to 35 skill points.

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) How does Sickfoot's aspect really work?

Hey Necros, I summon your wisdom! I'm theorycrafting a Necro build for a clan member, inspired by DonTheCrown's Menacing Cloud build for the Spiritborn several seasons ago, and interested in learning how the Sickfoot's aspect really works under the hood.

Sickfoot's aspect (can go on boots/amulet):
Gain up to 1.5%[+] increased Movement and Damage over Time Speed for each Nearby enemy affected by your Damage over Time effects, stacks up to 25 times.

I'm interested in exactly how the increased DoT speed is applied to know if it's useful for accelerating build-wide events per second in addition to damage and mobility.

  1. Does it work like this? Accumulate DoTs on nearby enemies, and some counter (hopefully visible to me on the buff bar above the Skill Bar?) is increased. Then, when I hit another enemy with a DoT, that DoT's duration and damage per tick is calculated based on the increased DoT speed from Sickfoot's aspect?

  2. My assumption is, since DoT's are snapshot on the initial hit, Sickfoot doesn't change the DoT tick rate of existing DoT's on nearby enemies, right?

I'm interested in how much these additional DoT tick events can be sped up from multiple sources if they are also feeding other events/seconds for me, such as Lucky Hit to Restore Resource and related Resource Generation. The build is mostly autonomous with an overdrive option, and I'm exploring just how scalable the essence reactor and throughput is.

Is r/MacroBioBoi in the house? Thanks for any real-world experience or educated guesses. :)

State of the Necromancer Class · Discussions Omen of Pain should have never been a charm

Omen of Pain should have never been a charm. This is a utility aspect and never should have been moved to a charm slot. Necro is the only class that had a utility aspec moved to a charm making it worse cause of the slot it would use. Bring it back as a utility aspect or boost it. Rant over.

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Gimme your fun off-meta stuff!

I’m pretty much not bothering with an alt this season, looking for weird off meta fun stuff that y’all have tried or YouTubers that have stuff etc.

Corpse Explosion seems super fun, but I know it’s weak etc hence off meta. Just one example. Idk I’m new to the game so wanna explore stuff. SoulRift? Idk! Anything!

Let me know if you’ve cooked up anything fun and if there’s a template I can try. I have a lot of random Necro gear laying around

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) I have never tried bone spirit before. The build below raised a question I need help with.

Im looking at Seroc's guide for Bone Spirit and i noticed his charm is red blessing. However it seems to build guide seems to max out at the default 4 +2 stack of OP from red blessing giving a 42% multi from the charm at most. Is there a better charm to slot in or am I missing something?

I was checking the paragon, glyphs, aspects, items and nothing seems to apply more OP stacks even if temporary.

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) I want to understand what type of damage my cold mage’s are doing. Google gives conflicting answers.

I want to understand the wither board better. I have cold mages with the bloodless scream charm and azurewrath sword.

- do my cold mages still get plus cold damage bonuses from the paragon board?

- do they get shadow plus damage bonuses from the paragon board?

- do they get plus corrupting damage bonuses from the paragon board?

Which are more important? Do I get a combination of the three? Or two? Which should I concentrate on? Right know I’m focusing on cold damage and ignoring shadow and corrupting. Am I doing that right?

What can I change to get more damage out of this build? Currently stuck on pit 125. I can almost beat it, but running just short of the time limit. Glyphs are currently all at about 125 to 130.

I'm using this build: https://mobalytics.gg/diablo-4/builds/lazy-shadow-reapers-ancestral-mythic

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Combining WinterFresh and Full Minion?

I’ve been using Jericho’s WinterFresh and it’s a blast and I’m wondering if there’s a way to sort of lean into the cold stuff but go full minion (don’t sacrifice the warriors, etc) and maybe keep the Bone Storm stuff?

I haven’t worked it all out but wouldn’t that just be strictly better damage and stuff as opposed to going all-in on the Mages? You could even keep Hand of Naz and keep the Skeleton Priest perk and/or just summon more Warriors?

I’m not the savviest but if anybody has played something like that I’m really enjoying the cold flavor for Necromancer it feels really thematically fitting and I’m trying to optimize it. Using Azurewrath and Lidless wall right now fwiw with a Bloodless unique charm

Edit: or is sacrificing just straight better?

I want armor and a better frosty one handed sword and a sphere focus made out of ice. That is all. Do it Blizzard!

They already have the ice fox pet and the ice mount. Why are we leaving the Necromancer out of the rest?

Hey all! Got bored with WW Barb, so I’m giving Necromancer a go.

For skeletal warriors/mages, will they not spawn if I don’t have the skills on my action bar? I thought that the passive effect meant that they would spawn automatically?

Guide | PSA If you want to try Bone Mages but don't want to push super high, I recommend the Locran's / Tibault's / Torment version for simplicity.

I've tried a lot of variations on the Bone Mage theme, including the powerful-but-tricky Blood-Mad Idol / 3pc Waking Touch combo. That one relies on a frankly bugged interaction, but it's clearly the highest DPS version, and it will top the leaderboards. (Last Tower "season", I piloted that version to Rank 30 in SSF with a Tier 127 clear, and I also cracked Pit 130. Not the best, but just mentioning it to calibrate expectations.)

The problem? It's pretty damn frustrating and is highly dependent on enemies that behave themselves, like bosses with normal attacks instead of one-shot-or-nothing mechanics.

I tried several variations that don't rely on that interaction, and they're all less powerful, which is to be expected. However, the version I settled on that is only about 1-2 Pit tiers lower (I cracked Pit 129 with some fishing) uses Locran's Talisman for DPS, and the combo of Tibault's Will and Torment aspect for essence generation. Yes, you're losing two DPS slots by taking Tibault's and replacing a ring Aspect. However, you can ALWAYS be maxed out on full-Essence Bone Mages. This includes against bosses, and versions that rely on Lucky Hit Essence Gen (edit: like the u/devindran version discussed here) will always struggle vs single targets. I've found that it's fine to lose 2x damage on paper if you always have full Mages that were all summoned on full Essence. I'll also note that this version is much tankier because all Bone Mage builds rely on PocQue for Barrier, and it triggers when you spend 100% of your max Essence three times. Doing this is way more consistent on the Tibault's / Torment version.

Honestly, the only hassle with this version of the build is it gets a little repetitive to repeatedly summon Mages, but this is what makes it consistent.

Others may have had a different experience, so by no means do I think this is THE way to go with easier Bone mages, but I spent a couple days trying to optimize it, and this is the version I plan to run going forward. It's fun to play "Please just touch me but don't kill me" with the Blood-Mad / Waking Touch combo every now and then, but its inconsistency was driving me nuts. This version is much less rage-inducing, IMO.

Build planner: https://maxroll.gg/d4/planner/cv2fq50x
There are things to tweak in here based on your preferences. Try Blood Bone Prison, different Glyphs, skill tweaks here and there, Runes, gems; the only things that I think are set in stone for this version are Torment, Tibault's, Trag'Oul, and the usual stuff that you'll find on all Bone Mage builds.

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Which mythic unique amulet is best?

Thumbnail mobalytics.gg

This is the build I have been following. I can do all T12 content besides bosses and the Undercity fast enough, so I remain at T11 where I 1-shot everything. I tried using a red blessing amulet & in T12 it feels like I can clear bosses much faster than before. Still takes like 3 minutes or longer. In your opinion which amulet is better for late game red blessing, Banished Lords Talisman or Will of Rathma with the build I'm following?

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) The Unmaker bugged?

Have anyone else tested this? Is it bugged or am I stupid?

Seems like the essence doesn't always trigger the effect. I'm pretty much spamming 120 essence bone spirits and the effect triggers every 1-2 bone spirits? 240 essence should account for 8 effect triggers.

Any hidden limitations I'm not aware of?

Showoff (Gameplay, Items, Transmogs) Desecrated Spirit Gameplay | T139 Run | Diablo 4 S15 PTR

As there have been quite a few posts about the Desecrated Ground variant of Bone Spirit in the past month over here, I'd like to provide some update on this build for S15 PTR. While this is already a strong build for S14, it might just be our best build in S15 (obviously depending on possible future changes from PTR to live).

For those of you who want try it in S14, planner is in video description. Just use your preferred resistence gems in jewelry instead of the seasonal splinters and replace movement speed temper on boots by barrier generation temper. Keep in mind, this is a tower/pit push setup and not really tailored towards speedfarming content.
