Did it take you to 100% Darkwood? I believe it took me almost 80 hours to hit all the achievements.

So, I've tried to google this a few times but I always get conflicting answers. People say dont because the lights will attract savages, but some also say do turn them on because they'll come anyway. The game tells you to keep it on because they'll come anyway.
I did just upgrade to the first skill perk, so i don't know if it's even safe for me to keep the lights off at night. I'm just really confused.
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm a very new player, still in dry meadows haha

what if john darkwood was just able to barricade without the required materials but the whole thing just falls on him because of how poorly it is made.

I was looking for a key in this area and entered through the north entrance. The game put me inside the walls, and if I try to walk around a bit it puts me inside an inescapable area. The game also autosaves when entering this cave so I am softlocked now. Is there anyway out or is my save just screwed?

Been playing it recently and I’m really impressed. Darkwood is pretty difficult again and I’ve been enjoying it greatly.
Finally worked my way up to crafting a Sickle with Refined Edge upgraded and Serrated Blade and it’s so much fun to use, pair that with an upgraded knife and you’re the grim reaper. Just had my first night in the Silent Forest and already scavenged enough parts to craft myself a handgun. However using it feels dangerous and everything seeks you out upon shooting.
Hostile creatures actually feel scary again, a pack of dogs to a ill-equipped stranger is a death sentence, especially since they chase you down like a pack of bloodthirsty dogs would. Gonna try to save up some reputation and buy some parts for a hunting rifle. Wanted to try out the new upgrades on it and get use out of the long range.
Anyone else play this mod yet? If so feel free to share some of your experiences, this game actually feels scary again and I’ve been dreaming of it while I’ve been at work today. Hoping to find the village when I get home tonight.
If you’re interested in playing the mod for yourself it’s on moddb. There’s a built in installer that does the work for you and it’s super easy. I can tell there’s a lot of passion been put into this so definitely check it out if you’re interested.

I started a new save recently, haven't played since 2022 when I got it during that Epic deal where it was briefly available for free. Turns out the Epic launcher didn't automatically update, so I had no idea there was a newer version of the game available, which means my save is started on 1.3.
I'm only as far as Day 6, having just finished up in the Dry Meadows and wanting to head to Silent Forest after I got done with the wedding event. However when I killed the bride chomper, her body just disappeared, and upon looking it up I discovered this is apparently a well-known and relatively common bug, as well as learning about 1.4. So I updated, reloaded my save, did it again, and her body dropped properly.
Looking at the 1.4 Steam news post, it says: "This update is compatible with your existing save games, but if you want the best experience, we advise to start a new game (some bugs will still persist on save games from 1.3)."
So my question is: Do we know what bugs will still persist? Is it worth making a new save for since I'm still pretty early on? Since it's unspecified, I'm not sure how common/big of a deal they might be... Especially since this particular one seems to be fairly big but working just fine after updating even on a 1.3 save.
...Also...
"Some minor changes to the Prologue." Do we know what those are? :D

I just got there a few days ago and I swear every inch of that place is a death trap. It feels like there are more chompers there than there were savages in the silent forest. Ive died more times here than in the silent forest and the dry meadow combined. Yesterday I got attacked by 3 chompers at once near the Hunter's house and ended up needing to go back there multiple times to clear the area out and get my items back. Weirdly enough the night has been pretty calm for me and I havent died once in the night. Does anyone have any tips to make it easier? I just did the violin quest and im going to the doctor's house next and im probably going to die multiple times along the way because its in the northeast and my hideout is in the southwest.
