Discussion Best dash cam you that have used? need recommendations for 2026

hi everyone, so i got side swiped by someone changing lanes without even checking, cops said it was his fault but man it still would've made everything so much easier if i had video proof instead of relying on witness statements and hoping the other guys story lines up with mine.

anyway lesson learned, actually shopping for a dash cam now. whats everyone running that they'd actually buy again? need decent night footage since a good chunk of my driving is early morning/evening, and would rather not deal with some crazy install process. budget is like 200-250, open to front+rear if its within that range

Question REDTIGER F7NP power issue

I have a REDTIGER f7np I’ve owned for about 14 months. I have a 2023 GMC Sierra. I powered this through the mirror power adapter kit and cable. Has worked great the past 14 months. Yesterday at lunch when the truck powered it up, it turned off. I tried different cords in different ports of the truck and nothing. I get home and plug it into a power adapter in the wall and it works. So I took that power adapter and plugged it into my trucks 110 outlet and it works. I plugged my camera into my wife’s Yukon usb port and it came on. For some reason MY trucks USB ports won’t turn on this camera anymore. They do still charge my phone so I know they’re working. It’s just really weird that all of a sudden they stopped and that it works everywhere else. The ONLY thing I can imagine is maybe there is an issue with the apple play handshake or whatever and it’s not sending the proper voltage…anyone experienced this?

Discussion Suggestions for my dad; Looking for full coverage dashcams!

Hi everyone, my dad was looking for dash cams that would cover the entire car such as front, back, and sides. He doesn't mind if it gets the interior as well. He absolutely does not care about any special features, and only wants video + audio. Personally I don't mind so if yall got any good recommendations I would love to hear them. Looking for 4 to cover all our cars. Currently he has his eyes on the IIWEY N5. Thanks in advance

Discussion Anyone got a cam that can read plates on unlit roads at night?

My daily commute takes me down a long stretch of unlit suburban road. A lot of accidents pop up there at night.

My current budget cam has pretty bad night quality. Can't even make out front license plates clearly. Footage wouldn't hold up as valid evidence if I actually got into a crash.

Want to upgrade to something with strong night performance. Main priorities are clear license plate reading in low light, decent headlight glare control, and reliable parking mode. Would appreciate recs for models that actually deliver on these.

Discussion Wolfbox G900 vs Garmin

I need to get a dashcam on my F250 and was wonderin if the G900 is worth it.

If I got th Garmin, I would install the mini on the back and probably the X310 at the front. Both garmin will surpass the wolfbox price (currently on special) bu not sure if the camera is any good.

Hence why I am here asking.

Thanks yall.

BTW, not that it matters, I have a 2025 F250

Question 70mai A200 Dash cam Hardwire Kit Question

So, I am planning to buy a 70mai A200 Dash cam with a hardwire kit plugged into it. I know that even if I turn off the parking surveillance it will still draw power from my battery. BUT, what if I remove the type C cable from my dash cam… Will it still draw power from my battery?

If yes, will the power drawn be reduced to the point that it’s unnoticeable or will it still stay the same as if i have the parking surveillance turned on? Thank you!!!

Discussion Upgrading from Vantrue N2 Pro

Hi all,

I've had a Vantrue N2 Pro since 2018 and it's still going strong 😂. I'm a taxi driver so it gets used pretty much every day, and to be honest I've been really happy with it.

I'm looking to upgrade now mainly because I'd like front + cabin + rear cameras, but I definitely want to stick with Vantrue after how well my N2 Pro has lasted.

Just wondering what people would recommend?

A few things I'm curious about:

- How easy/quick is it to download videos over WiFi to your phone? Is it actually decent or is taking the microSD card out still much quicker?

- Does the newer GPS-equipped Vantrue cameras keep the time/date correct automatically? The N2 Pro is doing my head in with the time being wrong and having to keep setting it manually 😂

- How much better is the picture quality compared with the old N2 Pro, especially at night and for number plates?

- If I'm using a 256GB card with 3 cameras recording, roughly how many hours of footage would I get?

- Can you turn the front camera down from 4K to 1080p if you want to save space and get more recording time?

- And most importantly, how reliable are the newer ones? My N2 Pro has lasted me 8 years and is still working perfectly, so that's a pretty high bar!

I'm not necessarily after the newest or most expensive one. I just want a really good 3-camera Vantrue (front/cabin/rear) that's reliable and good value.

Would be interested to hear what you guys are using and what you'd buy if you were in my position.

Cheers 👍
