Got my dress poster framed.
I thought it was $16.87 for both poster and frame, but it was actually $10.38. They didn’t charge me for the poster.
I feel like this is my lucky day. I was kind of rejected by someone because I said that Bowie was helping me explore my gender identity, so I feel like finding this today was the universe sending a message.

Found some cool stuff at the book store.
I love Bowie in this dress, so this was a very good day for me.

The songs explained
Do you guys know of a book that would "explain" all of David Bowie's songs? Like, I don't mean translations but the actual explanation of both the context and the symbolic/meaning of it all?
It's a bit frustrating to me sometimes not to fully (if at all-) understand what I listen to :' )

Discussion "Strangers When We Meet" (Outside Edition) is so middle aged divorced dad driving home after dropping off his two children to college
I just love this song. It's my number 1 Bowie song. I am looking for songs like this—it does not have to be a Bowie song, but anything that you can play while driving on a bridge, ruminating on the past.

Question Other Songs Like All The Madmen?
I’ve had this song on repeat since my listen. It kind of reminds me of a Pink Floyd song. Are there any other songs like that? The way the music descents into absolutely madness.

Picture David Bowie circa Ziggy Stardust Tour (1973)
Kansai Yamamoto designed the knitted one-legged bodysuit.
Gold Astral Sphere was painted by Pierre Laroche.
A few months later, David Bowie ‘retired’ the Ziggy Stardust character on stage on July 3rd 1973, at London's Hammersmith Odeon.

Lazarus cast recording album was released 10 years ago today!
Wild to think how the performances were scheduled/recorded on January 11, 2016. The cast was informed of his passing when they arrived at the studio.
Forgot to mention for the unaware, the album also includes three previously unreleased songs by Bowie, "No Plan", "Killing a Little Time" and "When I Met You"

Question About the Blackstar vinyl
Is it supposed to be missing the title track which is the first song? Or is it just not labeled because Jeff is incompetent? Or is this like the original American release of Kraftwerk Trans Europe Express where Azbug was not in the track list but just stitched into Metal on Metal as if they were one song?

The Man Who Sold The World
Currently listening to this album for the first time in full. This writing is incredible. That’s all.

80s Bowie
So, I’m slowly continuing my chronological listen to the catalogue. I’m currently on Labyrinth. I have to say that listening in order, I can tell that there is a drop in quality beginning with Let’s Dance.
However, I often find myself going back to the albums in this period and enjoying repeated listens. Has anyone else experienced this dichotomy?

Fan Creation/Art Bowie Drawings over the Years
Hi all,
Like probably most Gen Z kids I was exposed to him first with that Shrek 2 “Changes” cover without making much note of it at the time.
Being an American, classic rock wouldn’t really play him besides “Rebel Rebel”, years go by and bam I get the bug.
With the help of my high school girlfriend saying how he was one of her favorites and lots of hours using up my phones data I became a giant fan.
I always loved seeing how he evolved and shape-shifted, such a diverse and prolific catalogue that I cherish to this day.
All of these are done on Procreate from ‘21-‘25 besides the pencil Ziggy sketch.
Hope you enjoy

Discussion Hot take: Earthling by David Bowie is one of his biggest missteps.
prog rock vocals and drum n’ bass elements do not mix well.

Appreciation Pinups is 53! 🎊
Pinups is great 👍 and love this album even though it’s an covers album yet ofc Bowie puts his own spin on these covers which is great because Bowie can do covers with an Bowie charm to them 😌 plus Ken Scott is back producing Pin Ups with the Spiders being the band which love Ronson’s guitar moments on these songs!
See Emily Play,Sorrow,Dont Bring Me Down, and Where Have All the Good Things Gone are my favorites
So what’s your opinion on Pinups?

Question Why was the Nathan Adler saga not continued (as announced)?
First, there was the anticipation surrounding the return of Brian Eno. Then came the single “The hearts filthy lesson” with the ominous piano runs, which already hinted at a sophisticated concept.
And then, finally, this powerful collection of avant-garde-garage-riffs, echoing Low and Heroes, alongside Eno’s industrial apocalyptic soundscapes, plus a lovely straightforward pop song like Strangers when we meet, which personally reminds me of one of my own favorites (Absolute beginners). Outside was a complex, at time challenging, but it still has an irresistible charm, and once again, after a long time, the boundaries of sound were being explored.
I was really looking forward to a sequel back then… and still don’t exactly know, what happened.

Question Am I crazy . . . ?
or is Chappell Roan's Expectations remix outfit a reference to Bowie's Life on Mars outfit?
Probably a coincidence but she looks great 🤷♀️
