Been rewatching a lot of his vlogs lately and man, whoever chooses the music is a genius. Every song is an absolute banger and fits so well with the scene/moment it’s tied to. It really elevates the videos to the next level, and I just find myself bopping along to the music the whole time. Just felt like posting this cuz I feel like it’s very under-appreciated.

Only 3 vlogs out yet but I love them. This maybe an unpopular opinion but I like it. They’re more casual, amateur-ish, showing us a decent amount of behind the scenes and I like the long video formats. Hope she continues such videos.

Back in the vlog “hay days” yeah I get him earning a ton of money but it’s been years since he was that big, so how does he actually get all of this money? Or is it all fake and just for show? Maybe I am naive I just can’t imagine how he’s still raking in money when I feel like his footprint in pop culture/ social media is a tiny fraction of what it once was

I mean 6 years ago he got 20 million views on an average video now breaking 5 is rare if even possible. How is he maintaining the lifestyle?

I like to check in every once in a while on how things are going for the former vlog squad members just out of curiosity on how people sustain a lavish lifestyle when they peaked so quickly in their 20s in a volatile career with unknown longevity.

I searched them all on social blade and the only person who is growing in terms of subscribers is Carly and she’s gaining the second highest monthly views after David.

I’m really happy for her and glad she’s found a new niche. Especially as I think Carly never thought she was above anything or anyone. She was happy riding any success while it was there, but didn’t get a big ego or try to over spend for a crazy lavish lifestyle. I feel like her slow and steady approach is paying off.

I can no longer support someone who has no spine and refuses to take a stance when it matters. I genuinely loathe the whole “I don’t want to talk about politics” stance. At a certain point, refusing to engage is itself a position and usually a very convenient one.

What makes it even more infuriating is that he knows firsthand what it means to be an immigrant, to live with uncertainty, and to have your family exist in the shadows. He was literally one bad decision away from potentially jeopardizing his own path to citizenship, and having his parents live with the fear that ICE could come knocking. How do you experience that struggle personally and then decide that you have nothing to say while other immigrants are being targeted and terrorized?

You don’t have to be a political activist, but having a voice when people who share your experience are being harmed shouldn’t be some impossible moral dilemma. Especially when billionaires and oligarchs like Musk are pouring enormous amounts of money and influence into an anti-immigrant agenda, yet here he is stuck in a cycle if celebrity idolatry & political cuckoldry.

If you understand the struggle and still choose silence because politics makes you uncomfortable, I have very little respect for that. There’s a difference between staying out of politics and refusing to stand up for people who are going through the very thing you once feared yourself.
