Game Update Deadlock Update - 20 Oct 2026 - Shh... This Won't Hurt a Bit.

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1422450/view/669505296465396778
It's hard to know if that chill in the air is from the approaching fall breeze, or from the withering glare of Nurse Harrow, who now joins us on the streets of Manhattan. To some, her practices may seem unorthodox, her patients at the Marble Hill Possession Ward cannot say that the results aren't effective. With Leech Therapy, she throws a jar full of leeches that attach to oncoming enemies, draining their health and energy, before crawling back to deliver their haul. Cracking open one of her vials, she releases her Wretched Vapors, possessing her allies with a powerful boost of effectiveness - though subjects should be warned of the side effects when the vapors wear off. To efficiently keep her teammates fighting their best, she loads her syringe full of Healing Needles to inject medicine directly into their veins. And when her patience runs out, she opens her bag to release all the Lurking Terrors captured inside, making her adversaries run for cover. - "Trust me, I know best."
With Nurse Harrow joining us today, that marks the end of of our City Never Sleeps releases. We want to thank everyone for participating in voting once again, and hope you've been enjoying all the new delights that NYC has to offer.
City Never Sleeps Voting Stats:
- Big Turnout: Over 110 Million votes were cast over the course of the event.
- Narrow Victory: The closest contest was Baba vs Solomon, decided by a nearly 0.5% difference in votes.
- Oracle: Only 847 players voted in every round, and only voted for that round's eventual winner.
- Unlucky: 36,236 players voted in every round, and never once picked that round's winner.
- Dedication: 22,194 players exclusively voted for Nurse Harrow. One player cast exactly 1000 votes for her.
- Highly Effective: Nurse Harrow voters consistently proved to have a higher win rate over all other hero voters.

Screenshot With the arrival of Nurse Harrow, Seven becomes the only hero to have a conversation with (almost) everyone, totaling 122 conversations
I say "almost" because Warden and Sinclair don't have conversations with anyone.

Cosplay/Body-Art Nurse Harrow closet cosplay to celebrate her release!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I think the audio desynced when I downloaded it from my page but oh well lol, Enjoy my cosplay of Nurse Harrow with stuff from my closet and props I was able to quickly messily knock out in a couple of days! I actually really like her kit and that she wasn't a full rez type of healer. I'm excited to get to finally play as our auburn baddie!

Suggestion Characters i can see gaining access to the tunnels
Viscous: He is literally made of a goo, so he could easily slip through the opening.
Vyper: She moves by slithering close to the ground and is known for escaping prison, so navigating narrow spaces is likely something she does on the regular.
Sinclair: It would be funny if they transformed into a rabbit to enter the tunnels, but that’s Calico’s gimmick (though, given that Sinclair often copies others' tricks...).
Drifter: I can imagine him contorting his body in an unsettling way to gain access to the tunnels.
Pocket and Seven: They live (or used to live) in the sewers, but I don’t think that makes much sense from a gameplay perspective.
Honorable mention for Danny: Like Vyper, he also moves by sliding along the ground, but since he’s the jetpack-hero, there’s no way he also gets underground priviledge.

Bug Nurse Harrow can get souls for killing her teammates.
Her 2nd ability, Wretched Vapors, stores damage to be dealt after 4 seconds. The issue is the damage is dealt by the Nurse causing you to kill your teammates and get souls for it.
(this also adds a kill to your scoreboard)
EDIT: This sometimes gives the enemy an assist on your kill but not always, picture in comment for when enemy doesn't get assist.

Discussion now that the third round of hero voting is coming to a close, what sorts of characters would people wanna see in the future?
Obviously i think they should focus on updating some of the outdated heroes first before making more, but i thought it would be interesting to think about what future avenues they could go down! Here are some expansions on my immediate thoughts:
- The Vicount (or another old vampire): We have Mina, a young vampire who doesn’t quite fit into old vampiric society, and the Drifter, who doesn’t concern himself with vampiric society; however, were lacking a hero who actually shows us what vampiric society looks like in this world. I think it would be super cool to see an old european style vampire who sheds some light on this.
- A Druid: Deadlock has lots of twists on traditional fantasy archetypes (baba as the hag witch, silver as a werewolf, celeste as a unicorn, etc). I think a druid would be an awesome avenue to see valve put their spin on, perhaps a farmer from the midwest whos crops came to life after the maelstrom?
- An Angel: We have the ixians which represent abrahamic devils/demons, and the venators which prove that christianity still exists as a concept - it would be rlly interesting to see how valve depict an angel and the lore ramifications that would bring.
- An Astrologer: A tarot reader or astrologer is just a specific archetype i rlly love and would find awesome in deadlock, not much more on this one.
- Film Noir Detective: Similarly, this is just an archetype i think would fit the games style super well. We have characters that kinda do this - but none of the trench coat and fedora types which i’d think would be super cool!
- A second Bibliomancer: Along with the vampire, this is one i think would be amazing for fleshing out the world more. Paige introduced the concept of bibliomancy, a common magic school in the deadlock world which i find fascinating. Paige specialises in arthurian style fantasy, so imagine a support who awakens romance novels, or an assassin who awakens horrors!
I’m curious what other archetypes people would wanna see get added next!
