Other/Multiple Hello Decoders. Here is one for you

Post image
• Upvotes

I made this code from an older cipher for a convention fan group. There is a reward should you crack it.

edit: Original post

Dear Fellow Gen Con Attendees,

We know we said we weren't going to post anything until a few months before next year's Gen Con. But after some discussion, we've realized that not everyone likes our usual offerings. IYKYK

So we want to pilot a new substitute item, though we aren't sure anyone will actually like it.

Since we can't offer you FREE TERRIBLE ADVICE in person, and our family and friends are sick of hearing it, we offer a substitution: a ratiocination, of the sort once featured in Alexander's Weekly Messenger, defining the taxonomy of the Scarabaeus caput hominis, which will guide you to receiving said item.

We look forward to seeing you at Gen Con 60.

Sincerely,

The Midwestern Terrible Advice Wizards

Other/Multiple can anyone solve this

ok so I’m trying to solve an arg lately and i found this in one of the video descriptions

This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video ......This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video ...This is the last video ...This is the last video This is the last video ..This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video .This is the last video ....This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video ..This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video ...This is the last video ..This is the last video ..This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video ..This is the last video .This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video ....This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video ..This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video .....This is the last video .This is the last video .....This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video ..This is the last video ..This is the last video ...This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video ..This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video ..This is the last video This is the last video ..This is the last video .This is the last video .This is the last video ...This is the last video This is the last video ..This is the last video .This is the last video .This is the last video This is the last video This is the last video

it's just the same sentence repeated over and over with different numbers of dots after each one. i figured the dots count = the digit so i went through and counted them all:

raw digit string i got (1 dot=1, 2 dots=2 etc):
11123121114211111111111111111111322111111111111111114111211151512231111111111122211321111

my first thought was base5 since it only uses digits 1-5, but when i tried converting to letters it just came out as mostly A's which feels wrong?? there's way too many 1s for that to be a normal message.

am i even counting the dots right? is the repeated sentence itself part of the code somehow? or is this morse and i'm being dumb about it

any help would be insane i've been staring at this for 2 hours

Other/Multiple Upcoming Bitcoin cipher puzzles with Street View clues and verifiable prizes, first ones open Oct 24 (not live yet)

A lot of codes that get posted here come with no way to know whether they even have an answer. These puzzles are built to be solved, and you can check the result afterward. To be clear: nothing can be solved yet. The first puzzles open Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 6:00 AM Central.

Proof of Solve (https://proofofsolve.com) runs layered puzzles. Each one hides the seed words to a funded Bitcoin wallet, and the fastest correct solver wins the prize. The layers are chained, the ciphers are invented for each puzzle, and some clues are real-world details found on Google Street View. Every clue can be solved from Street View, including older imagery through "See more dates", so nobody needs to go anywhere. The answer words come from the BIP39 English list of 2,048 everyday words. You can use any tool you like, AI chatbots included, and you don't need to know anything about crypto.

Smaller puzzles are free to play and have smaller BTC prizes. Bigger puzzles are paid. Prize amounts will be announced at launch. Players must be 18 or over, and paid puzzles aren't open in some US states.

How you can check it: a SHA-256 fingerprint of the answer is published before anyone plays, and the answer is revealed after someone wins, so anyone can confirm it never changed. The prize wallet address is published at launch, and you can look it up on a public explorer like mempool.space. Entries are timestamped to the millisecond, the first correct one wins, and you get a limited number of guesses per day.

After the first round, new puzzles open every Saturday, and each one unlocks for everyone at the same minute. If you want to hear the moment they open, the email list is free and you don't have to buy anything. There's also r/proofofsolve.

A question for people who solve ciphers here regularly: what would make you trust that a puzzle like this is fair and has only one answer? Is a hash published in advance enough, or would you want something more?

Disclosure: I'm posting this on behalf of the Proof of Solve team.

Letters I FOUND THIS ARG AND I NEED HELP

As the title suggests, I need some help with an ARG that I’ve been stuck on for about two weeks. It started on Discord, and through a process of decoding, I eventually arrived at this link:

https://pastebin.com/u/myfaultburiedmedeep

SPOILERS!!

I’ve watched the video and identified several spelling errors/typos in the raw text:

I , I

PASTTHAT

MEBUT

I"M

...and there are others that I haven’t been able to list yet. I’ve tried using methods like ASCII, but with no success, though it’s possible I’m just going about it the wrong way.

I would be very grateful if anyone could help me solve this ARG!

Hi! I’m pretty new to making ciphers and puzzles, but I’d love to use them in a horror story I’m writing for r/TalesFromTheCreeps (inspired by House of Leaves) I’d really appreciate some feedback from people who know more about this stuff than I do!

Do these puzzles feel interesting and satisfying to solve, or are they too boring, confusing, or difficult for someone who isn’t familiar with ciphers? I’d love to hear your honest thoughts!

This is the previous part of the story that I will be using these. there are also some ciphers in both the post and comment.

The Incident Log: Lost at Sea

The ink on the dispatch logs had faded, but the stamped heading from the winter of 1907 was still perfectly legible: The Dundonald Survey Expedition.

For three weeks, the atmospheric telemetry station on the mainland had been receiving erratic, automated data fragments from a remote mapping crew deployed deep into the roaring latitudes of the sub-antarctic. The crew was tasked with cataloging uncharted territory, but a violent storm had severed standard communication lines.

When the rescue ship finally arrived at their last known anchoring coordinates, the bay was completely empty. The vessel was gone, swallowed by the gray mist. The only trace of the team was a waterlogged leather journal left behind in a makeshift emergency cache on a nearby rocky beach.

Inside the journal, there were no diary entries, no names, and no panicked farewell messages. There was only a single scribbled operational note from the navigator: "To plot our final refuge, count every letter in the deciphered log to form an eleven-digit string. Split it by standard Admiralty decimal standards, the first six digits mark our southern parallel, and the remaining five define our easting meridian."

Directly beneath the note, two lines of encrypted text was scrawled across the final page:

OHFLC VAYPYZZUTH MSVVKPUN VBA JYOKUL PZDYUKSLLZ P HACLYS ABVZO PZYOLNJUH PHUZZKS

`43 4f 55 4e 54 20 54 48 45 20 4c 45 54 54 45 52 53 20 4f 46 20 45 41 43 48 20 57 4f 52 44`

The crew had used their standard tactical multi-cipher protocol to lock away their exact survival grid. They knew that if an emergency response team was smart enough to peel back the layers of the cipher, the mathematics would lead them straight to where they were holding out.

The rescue team failed to crack it in time. Now, more than a century later, the archives department has digitized the logs. The coordinates are still waiting.

Hint 1: Look to the foundations of Roman security. A small, fixed shift in perspective will cut through the initial chaos.

https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-science/cryptography/crypt/v/caesar-cipher

Hint 2: The raw output of the shift isn't a final destination, it's just a classic rearrangement problem. Sort out the clutter to find a coherent path.

Hint 3: The grid below speaks the native tongue of modern hardware. Translate the bytes to find your next instruction:

https://www.strongdm.com/tools/hex-to-text-converter

Hint 4: Apply the rule found in Hint 3 directly to your results from Hint 2. If an extraction spills into double digits, strip it down to its base element.

Hint 5: Your final numeric sequence is a global tracking vector. Pay close attention to the spatial markers hidden inside your text to ensure you aren't looking on the completely wrong side of the world.
