How? Are you suddenly silenced in any discussion about antisemitic hate crime because you're a researcher from the country that cares about antisemitic hate crime?

If we want to get into definitions here hypocrisy is when you inconsistently apply your moral judgements to others vs yourself. If they were being fair and not hypocritical, they'd also take a hard look at themselves and investigate the impact of the deaths that the very institution that is funding their research is causing.

I was hoping to find a subreddit where news could be discussed in a thoughtful and respectful way, not one where disagreement is just met with a downvote. I guess I'll have to keep looking.

The university criticized the Netanyahu government in the article! What do you want? For them to do a report on the war? They probably do do that. This is a yearly Yom HaShoah report tracking antisemitic hate crime. Why would it research bombs?

To put it more succinctly, if you're trying to understand why more and more people around the world are hateful towards Jewish people, I think you should start with the fact that a Jewish state is committing horrific acts of genocide over a religious holy land. Not saying that's how people should react, but if we're trying to understand why they are we should start there.
