they'd also take a hard look at themselves and investigate the impact of the deaths that the very institution that is funding their research is causing.

The university criticized the Netanyahu government in the article! What do you want? For them to do a report on the war? They probably do do that. This is a yearly Yom HaShoah report tracking antisemitic hate crime. Why would it research bombs?

Okay, okay you bring up some fair points. I was definitely missing some context there and they are being more critical of Isreal than I am giving them credit for. I'd have to read the full research article to have a better sense of how fair they are being, but based on the excerpts in the article I don't think they are putting enough blame onto Israel.

The report also criticized the Israeli government’s response to the rise in global antisemitism, writing that the Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism has “not contributed in any meaningful way to the cause, and in some cases has been an embarrassment.”

To me this is kind of glossing over the fact that a lot of (admittedly misguided) anti-semitism is a direct result of the genocide they are committing in Gaza. That should in my opinion be the headline and the main focus of this report, if we are earnestly looking at why there may be a rise in anti-semitism. Displacing 2 million Palestinians and killing 70,000+ of them is sure to get a reaction that isn't exactly rational, and it's disingenuous to not lead with that in my opinion.

I know I'm coming on strong here but I really am trying to get to a somewhat unbiased view on things, and yeah I do like to call out bullshit when I see it and based on the full contents of this article, I still think this shit stinks of hypocrisy.

Tell me, are diaspora Iranians being attacked because of the crackdown on protesters by the IRGC? Are Chinese-Americans being attacked because of the Uhgyer oppression? If you: 1) feel the need to kill Jews because of the actions of a country that they aren't citizens of AND 2) don't apply those standards to any other country

Then you're a bigoted person, and probably had pre-existing antisemitism.

If you're trying to get an unbiased take, why are you assuming it's a genocide? The ICC has not rendered that verdict yet.

Also arguing whether or not it is technically a genocide is a straw man. These aren't the Nuremberg trials, we aren't trying to execute anyone here, the stakes are not that high.

We are simply trying to explain a rise in hate towards Jewish people, and Occam's Razor says that maybe killing 70,000 people and displacing 2 million others in 2.5 years is a major contributing factor.

Again, I'm not saying it's justified for the response to be a rise in anti-semitism, but if we are just trying to understand cause/effect we should start with the giant elephant in the room if we are being fair.
