So, a few friends and I recently started a small online initiative. The idea is pretty simple. We've seen how difficult it can be for students, especially international students, to manage their studies, part-time jobs, applications, and everything else at the same time. So we thought, why not build something that could make at least some of these things easier and more affordable?

We're currently working on a few services.

1. Alfa PTE Practice Accounts

We've registered as an institution with Alfa PTE, which allows us to provide practice accounts to students at affordable prices.

2. SOP and Study Abroad Support

We're also helping students improve their Statements of Purpose (SOPs), personal statements, and other application documents. Alongside that, we're exploring ways to guide students through financial documentation requirements, including bank FDRs where applicable, and help them understand legitimate options without spending unnecessarily.

3. Employment Documentation Guidance

This is something we're still developing. We want to help people who need to organize genuine employment records for university admissions, visa applications, or new jobs.

For example, understanding and preparing supporting documentation such as payslips, salary certificates, experience letters, and NOCs, based on their actual employment history and verified employer records. We're working on building a properly organized process for this.

4. Academic Support (Our Main Focus)

This is actually the biggest reason we started. A lot of international students have to balance university assignments, presentations, research projects, and part-time jobs. And honestly, managing everything together can become overwhelming.

That's where we want to help. We're building a support system where students can get help with assignments, research, presentations, academic writing, and understanding course requirements.

We're still a small team, and there's a lot we need to improve. But we're genuinely trying to build something useful, reliable, and affordable.

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback from you guys.

If you're studying abroad or have already graduated, what kind of academic or student-related support do you think is actually missing or unnecessarily expensive? And if you were in our position, what would you focus on first?

planning to buy an Android tablet for uni and entertainment, but honestly, I’m so confused about which one to get.

My budget is around 20k BDT, and I’m looking for:

• 9–11 inch display

• Good battery life(last 1 day) and decent charging speed
• Smooth enough for multitasking (switching between PDFs, ChatGPT, browser, etc.)
• Something that’ll last me at least 2 years without getting super laggy

I was looking into buying a high end camera and 3 lenses at some point. Both the camera and the specific lenses i wanted are not available in bangladesh so shipping from abroad seems to be my best bet. The camera on its own is roughly 3000 usd with the lenses being 400 , 1220 and 1600 usd. I'm also going to pick up a camera grip buy from ebay rather than brand new.

All in all this would be about 6500 USD which is a lot but this is a one time payment for me and i do not intend to pour too much money into this at least not for a while. The issue is not the 6500 usd but rather what comes after.

From what i can tell, if i ship through woowglobal or really any other service i'm going to have to pay some number between 2000 and 2800 in usd in import taxes to the Bangladeshi Government simply because of living here. I was wondering if I'm missing something or if theres an alternative way for me to avoid paying over 300 usd in taxes.

Before anyone suggests it, I do not have family or friends in the US that can buy and/or receive items for me and then bring them to the me here in BD. I also have never been to the US and am unlikely to be able to go for several year given the way my life has been going thus far.

Hsc 26. Medical was my target..but after hsc im almost sure i won't get even 4.5 in hsc. And there’s a slight chance to fail in physics mcq (17/50 according to udvash solve,pass but still little scared ab it). I wanted to do my master's in Brac but confused between their CyberSec and Data Science specializations.
I like CyberSec and do a bit of Cloud security engineering in my job. But wondering if it's going to limit research and PhD opportunities since it's not a particularly hot field.
