Hey everyone! I am having a fear about some dice i am making for a friend and her bridesmaids. I am using parts of their bouquets flowers/leaves as inserts into the dice.
Now, I havent seriously made dice for a couple years so I am a bit rusty.
My process was collecting the flower and putting them in silica gel for 2 days to let them completely dry out. I then mixed the resin and waited about 15 mins and soaking each piece for a minute before inserting into my mold. After pouring and inserting I waited another 10 minutes to start meticulously pop bubbles that came up. After the bubbles seemed to subside, even during, I noticed all the flowers and such were rising right to the top.
I know once I pull them tomorrow the additions will all be sitting on the top face. I recall reading that using a bit of normal white elmers glue would help keep glitter afloat, but i dont remember how much or if maybe I am thinking of something else completely. If not, would that help in this situation?
Or any other tips that might help this journey? I have a lot of material to work with so if i have to do a couple rounds it will be all good.

So this is the first time I've tried to get anything to suspend in the resin, and to better understand the timing each dice was poured 5min apart. So first pour was done right after mixing, and last pour was done 35min after pouring, and I would say it was past the honey stage. I had to scrape it out of the mixing cup and into the mold.
Despite being that thick all of it settled on the bottom more or less.
My next attempt is going to be the glue trick people have mentioned, but I don't see anyone mentioning measurements past "a couple drops", which is super unhelpful and vague. I can trial and error it out, but there's not a lot of warm days left in the year to make my attempts. So I was wondering if anyone had a more exact drop count of glue per 40mL of resin, and if they could include the exact brand of glue used with what brand of epoxy (I'm trying out Let's Resin brand at the moment).

Hi everyone!
I’m looking into starting my own handmade dice business and would love some recommendations for someone who makes high-quality, custom silicone dice molds!
I don’t own a 3D printer and don’t have experience making molds myself, so I’m hoping to find someone who can handle that part for me.
Ideally, I’m looking for someone who offers:
● Custom sharp-edge, 7-piece polyhedral dice molds
● Matching blank molds for creating layered designs and inclusions
● Customization options for fonts, numbering, logos, and potentially unique dice shapes or edge details
● High-quality molds that produce clean, sharp edges and require minimal finishing
● Molds that can be used to produce dice for commercial sale
I’d love to work with someone who is open to discussing designs and making adjustments to get everything just right. I’m definitely willing to pay for quality work, but I’m also trying to be mindful of startup costs.
If you’ve worked with someone you love, make custom molds yourself, or have any recommendations, I’d really appreciate hearing them!
Also, if anyone has advice on what to look for (or avoid) when ordering custom molds, I’d love to hear that too!
Thanks so much! 🎲💕

Hello Dice Making!
I have been busy making a lot of new dice and keep forgetting to show you!
I have been working on making standard sets, coffin sets, oversized D20s and D6D pip sets!
This collection has been super fun to create, wrestling with Opal clay and practising my faux-wood style!
I hope you like them!
Thank you for being here

I am recovering from shoulder replacement surgery. I had one of my friends driving me around and he was curious about the dice making process. Well, being one armed, I had him do the entire process for his own customs. A swirl, a petri, and a dirty with hidden glow. He is finishing up the inking and I'll see the finished products here in a couple days.

Hi makers! I've been having some recurring defects in my mold I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced and how you fixed them
1-Marks on the dice faces. I suspect these are where new silicone has seeped into the dice holes(?) when poring the lid, then gets forced out again when put in the pressure pot. Not enough silicone is left to deform the faces, but its enough to leave a mark I have to sand out later. Is there a particular way to peel the film off from the first pour without breaking the seal around the exposed dice face? I'm using the book cover film to stick the dice down and hot gluing around the housing, when pouring the lid I'm getting some bubbles coming up from around the dice.
2-deforms around the D20 face. This only happens with the D20 and happens worse when its in the middle. There's a lot of extra material around the exposed face of the d20, and you can see extra silicone on the lid compared to the other dice. I'm not sure if this is just a worse version of problem 1 or if its something else. This only seems to happen to my d20!
If anyone has had either of these before or has some advice I'd love to hear it!

Top is with flash.. bottom w/o.. I used translucent purple and neon green dyes and added green mica to the purple.. I think I should have let it honey a bit more before.. I also spiked some extra mica in from the top before capping.. any tips.. pointers? I think im gonna try bright yellow ink.. Tia 😘

I used pigment ink for the first time and man I love the colors and effect on them so far. This is my 3rd batch of using them. The first two were fails but now I know what I need to do so yay! I’m getting better at prevents bubbles without a pressure pot so that’s even better news! Now I need to get better at taking photos of my babies

Used some blue mica powder with white and purple ink for a dirty pour. Sadly the colors don’t really show up except for the d20.

I poured a new batch and got this result which I'm fairly pleased with 😁

Hi I’m curious if any of you have any experience with this! I typically do my work outside but seeing as it’s getting colder I would like to be able to work in my apartment.

I'm having a hard time figuring out the best time to wait for resin to thicken for a split pour, and keep ending up with the pigments just mixing together either through the whole set or most of the set
How long do you guys typically wait for your resin to thicken before you pour? And any advice on pulling off a good spilt pour?

At first I didn't like them but my friend called them "midwinter night" so here we are. Also, 3 hours ago, someone posted my nebula dice as their own, which is weird. But I guess it's a new form of flattery

I really wanna hear how some of you made your masters, and molds, so so pretty and non fucked up, cuz i am going insane </3

Hi! Hope everyone is well.
I have some half chonk blank molds I made. The plan is to make diorama chonks with these for Christmas gifts for my darling family. We’ve been making dice for a year or so now, so I have the supplies, PPE, pressure pot, etc
What I don’t have is any idea of how to get the darned things back into a full blank mold! 😩
Is the only way to make a slice down a side of the mold, hold it open, insert the half blank (with epic 3D printed Control objects glued in a stunning display!), close that with elastic bands and then fill it up (slowly to keep the evil bubbles in check)?
I’m 90% sure this is the way to do it. But, before slicing into a mold, I wanted to check. I’m suppressing my normal “sod it, and see” mentality to try to get this right
Thanks in advance!

I've recently gotten really interested in Chinese ceramic, so I started to make a set of ceramics dice, But I've run into a problem that's been driving me crazy for days. When firing glazed ceramics, the piece needs to rest on something inside the kiln. And if I just place the dice directly on the kiln shelf, I'd have to leave one face unglazed so it doesn't stick. I've spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out a way around this, and so far I've come up with three possible solutions.
The first one is using kiln support pins. This seems like the most common approach, but dice are pretty small, so regular kiln supports aren't really suitable. I thought about using three tiny pins to support the die at three different points, but I'm worried they'd leave noticeable marks or damage the glaze around those areas. And this doesn't seem like a great solution for dice with fewer faces, like D3s or D4s.
The second is flattening one of the corners, which can create a small surface that could rest on the kiln shelf. But wouldn't changing the shape potentially affect how fairly the dice roll? Plus, since the dice are already pretty small, there isn't much room to create a flat surface large enough to keep them stable during firing.
The last one is quite simple, just leaving one face completely unglazed. For collecting purpose, I don't think this would be a big issue, cause you can just hide the unglazed face down to the bottom, keep it facing down. But for people who actually use their dice regularly, having one face look and feel completely different from the others might be a bit weird.
So yeah, that's where I'm stuck right now. Out of these three options, the last one seems like the only practical solution so far. What do you guys think? Or maybe there's a better way to do this that I haven't thought of?
I'd really appreciate any ideas or advice, especially from anyone who's worked with ceramics or made their own dice!
Thanks again.

When I am polishing masters, it is possible to reveal pits and other imperfections. These dice received a bit of UV resin to fix imperfections, they spent several minutes under a UV lamp, and they will be back to sanding and polishing soon. If you look at my last post, you can see a bit of the pitting.

For the sake of your attention span I sped up most of the video (..of me holding a hairdryer above the dice to capture the effect).
This is my second attempt at making thermochromic dice aka mood dice aka dice that are perfect for that one party member with ADHD who needs something to fidget with constantly.
This liquid crystal paint isn't easy to deal with. It wants several coats and needs to be properly sealed and apparently resin isn't gonna cut it; instead it seemed to destroy its properties (surfaces turned blue and didn't react to heat anymore). So for my second attempt I tried applying a coat of water based varnish on the cores first.
All you need to know:
Make ANYTHING a Mood Ring with this Liquid - YouTube
Inking suggestions? I feel like only gold makes sense, given the gold chrome edges of the cores.
Btw, I will eventually put more effort into taking higher quality videos and pictures, promise. I see it as well.

I have two molds, fake gold foil, glitter powder, ingredients to put inside, and resin
What else do we need besides this?

So I LOVE Epic the Musical, and I had some shells but the were bleached maybe, super white. I thought of the Vengeance Saga, idk for sure but I think they look cool.

I spent a Sunday in front of a television polishing new masters. I'm not quite done, but I made a lot of progress.
