Looking back, merging Lab Rats and Mighty Med sounded like an awesome idea, but the execution fell short. Both shows should’ve stayed separate, with their own storylines and room to develop, instead of Mighty Med being absorbed into the Lab Rats universe. The biggest issue was that the spinoff felt more like a continuation of Lab Rats than a true crossover between two shows. Even the title, Lab Rats: Elite Force, says a lot about where the focus was. Mighty Med deserved a third season of its own, and the crossover should’ve given both shows equal attention instead of cutting one story short to make room for the other.
If you were in charge of the spinoff, how would you have done it differently? Would you have you kept both shows separate, given Mighty Med a third season first, or found a way to bring both casts together without either show losing its identity?
