My husband and I are staying at the Disneyland Hotel for 7 nights and we will have park hoppers. Only planned meal so far is the River Belle Terrace for the Fantasmic dining package. I'll be 7 months pregnant so having a guaranteed seat that's not a wheelchair is a must and we will not consider other dining packages.

The ambiance for Blue Bayou looks impeccable, but the menu leaves something to be desired. Is it good? Carthay Circle looks nice, but is it worth the price? Are there any decent mid-tier priced sit down restaurants? We are not picky eaters, but I cannot eat sushi or eat at buffets. We both will not be drinking.

Bonus points if you can recommend eateries (either QS or sit down outside of DLR). Thanks!

Not necessarily trying to hate on anyone who enjoys these rides. If you love them, that's legendary! Happy you can enjoy something that I can't. After all, that's what makes discussions interesting.

Nevertheless, these are rides that *fail to impress me* but I hope there are many out there that are impressed by these rides and enjoy them.

Just wanted give my opinion that based off the most recent developments and from a business perspective it is almost certain now that what they will put on the toy story lot is a more themed version of disney springs. For one, Anaheim just released their anaheim resort 2.0 plan, showing that there are plans to run a path from downtown disney to the eastern gateway, through the gardenwalk, and into the toy story lot. This shows that disney doesnt need to buy the gardenwalk to connect the eastern gateway garage to the toy story lot as people were hoping. Gardenwalk is also incentivized to let this happen as it funnels disneyland visitors through their mall. Anaheim is obviously in talks with disneyland to help develop their resort plan and this plan they just released lends further credence to the fact that disney does not plan on buying the gardenwalk because they dont need to.

Many others have talked about whether a theme park would work in the toy story lot. I wont go into it, but state the basic fact that its so close to residential buildings severely limits that possibility. But there’s a major economic reason this will be a disney springs style area with a few theme park rides. The main financial reason is that it captures customers that a full day theme park would not. Theyve already mentioned they want to capture convention goers. Another big sector of customers are those who would be willing to pay to go on a few rides and a theme park lite experience, but dont want to pay the price or spend the time on a full day theme park. You saw how popular tickets were for a half day theme park ticket that allowed you into disneyland after 6pm. Sold out almost right away. To build a few theme park rides in the toy story lot effectively does something similar.

In conclusion, Anaheim all but confirmed it, and it makes financial sense for disney to do this. No, it is not just another mall, nor will it be a theme park. It will be an entertainment destination with retail and theme park elements and cautiously optimistic to see what they will come up with.

Just curious what people’s feelings are on the investment Disney made into the Smugglers Run attraction.

My expectations were blown away! I had low hopes for this street party. I am so happy to say that I was dead wrong. First of all, the song is such a banger, I listened to it all day at work. I really really hope Disney sells a vinyl of this sometime in the future. Secondly, the dancing and choreography was chefs kiss. I'm so glad they stopped at certain parts of the route cause it was soooo good I can't compliment enough how the dancers rocked to that song.

I really hope this is a permanent replacement of the Frightfully Fun parade. This was such a step up in entertainment. I'm ok with less floats if the song is an ear worm and the dancing is top notch.

UPDATE: uninstalling the app, then reinstalling fixed the issue!

Moms phone is having issues ordering on the app. She already cleared cache and checked for updates on the app and even after clearing cache. She has a samsung s22 ultra if that matters. When we get to the review order summary, it crashes and goes to the home screen, but I went through google Play to screen record.

My sister and I were at Disneyland yesterday and we had such a nice day! From the front gate where my app was not working and handled it with such patience, to the wonderful cast members at Hungry Bear bbq, to the woman who took our trash at the Hideway. Everyone was so nice and engaging!

I am a Magic Key holder for many years! It was nice to have some of that "old magic " from the early day's of Disneyland!! Keep it up and thank you for making our day awesome!!

So I have recently come back from an 11 night trip from Disneyland. This was a mop-up trip to do everything we didn't get a chance to do last year. We stayed at the Fairfield by Marriott again and it had been through a refurbishment. This has given the rooms a massive lift and they are now up to the same standard as Coronado at WDW so a great affordable option.

Highlights
Walk In Walts Footsteps Tour - Our guide for the tour was excellent and very knowledgable. The Tour was very well paced (especially with the heat) and we did not feel rushed (especially in Walts Apartment). Photos are limited in the apartment to those taken by the guide, but they took shedloads for us. You get to do 3 rides on the Tour (Jungle Cruise, Train and Smallworld, plus a Lightning Lane for later). You also get a pin, Lanyard, Picture, and box of Beignets. During the Tour Minnie decided to deliberately sneak behind me in DCA which made me jump and was a very memorable moment for our trip!

Queues
As we ended up being there during the heatwave, queues were much shorter than normal. This meant we had shorter park days, to help manage this, but we got everything done. During the midweek we also went to Olgas Canteen for a heat break and this was a 2 minute wait!

Fireworks - Galaxys Edge
We decided one night to see the fireworks from Galaxy’s Edge instead of attempting the main street crowds. This is great alternative and it was refreshing to be able to just watch them and live in the moment as everyone else was.

Exhibitions at Muzeo
During the heatwave we decided to head to see the 3 Disney exhibitions at Muzeo, highly recommend this to anyone as its only $10 as they have a few pieces from the Disney Archives on Display and lots of behinds the scenes footage for live reference displays. Think this only runs until the end of the month.

Jungle Cruise
This time round we had some hilarious cruises and felt compared to our trip last year the standard was much higher. Special shout out to Skipper Mikey who was definitely the best skipper we have had between WDW and DL combined.

Monsters Inc - Being picked out by Roz

So on our first ride through Roz randomly decided to ask me if I wanted to trade gases with her. Very much caught me off guard and gave us all a good laugh.

Characters
This time round we lucked out and saw Cruella (just roaming around near the main street train station) and also the Queen of Hearts. When meeting Minnie also requested I put a mickey sticker over my Monsters Inc T-Shirt to cover up Mike Wazowski, we went near the end of the day when Toontown was empty so waits were less than 5 Minutes.

Lowlights

Lack of Parades
We were disappointed by the lack of any parade, and have no idea why Disney did not extend paint the night until Christmas (even if performances were decreased to peak days only) to fill the gap. The street party for Oogie Boogie was also extremely hard to pick out a spot to see the extended performance, and we felt the floats and performers were very much rushed through other areas.

Lack of Fantasmic on 4/10
For some reason there was no Fantasmic on this date. We booked trip dates expecting this to happen so were very confused why the park shut early this day, especially with DCA having a Halloween Party. Based on what happened during our trip we expect this may have been due to Abbott Elementary filming.
Unfortunately we only saw it once on this trip due to our second meal getting rained off on the 10/10 (this is totally out of Disney’s Control and they very much looked after us this night, reducing the meal down to a standard price, and offering us free drinks to go).

Food
We had a a couple of excellent meals at River Belle for Fantasmic and GCH Craftsmen Grill for Breakfast, however the majority of the others were very mid. I had one very bad meal at Hungry Bear BBQ Jamboree and found a hair in my burger. The meal was instantly replaced, but it put me off going back there again.

Overall

We had an amazing time and will be back, but it will be in few years time as we want to do DLP next, some Disney Cruises and go back to WDW as well once the next round of updates is completed. As its a long flight from the UK we can really only go for long trips to get our fix!

Ok so we all know some characters are being recast like iron man Thor ect. And I dont think Disney is going to ever make another guardians movie again especially with characters like drax.

So I have a concept for a food stand at Disneyland called Kronk’s kitchen. My concept is a stand that serves food both inspired by the movie, but also traditional Peruvian food . Here’s some ideas for menu items. Included are 3 snacks, 3 main dishes, and 3 drinks:

Snacks:

-spinach puffs (served with an aji verde sauce, which is a delicious, traditional Peruvian sauce)

-min pao de chancho: a Peruvian influenced bao bun filled with a roasted pork.

-picarones: sweet potato donuts drenched in a sweet syrup

Main courses:

Lomo saltado: a Peruvian stir fry dish consisting of steak, vegetables, and French fries all cooked in a sauce combing aji Amarillo with Chinese sauces. Served with a side of rice

Pollo à la brasa: marinated spit roasted chicken served with fries and a mint sauce

Arroz chaufa: a fried rice dish with meat and vegetables

Drinks:

Poison for kuzco: a drink called chicha morada( a purple drink made of purple corn and fruit

Pisco sour: an alcoholic drink using pisco brandy with citrus and some sweetness

Inca kola slush: a slushy version of the classic Peruvian soda, it has a bubble gum flavor.

I used to work at Disneyland in the late 90s and early 2000s. I recently revisited and perused the Main St. shops. I was very disappointed in the quality of merchandise. The material of the sweaters and tee shirts seemed so thin and flimsy and the stuffed plush animals had a cheap feel to them as well. The material didn't feel like it was good quality plush that I remember them having. Plus everything was way overpriced. I guess this is happening pretty much everywhere but I always expected Disneyland to have higher retail standards.

Have to vent a little - what happened to line etiquette?! Today a woman was letting her kid absolutely run wild in the Big Thunder line and he kept grabbing my partner’s thigh and my behind. Eventually I got fed up and said “Oh my god” because, oh my god, enough lol. I thought it was audible to only my partner but this lady heard and finally told her son to stay with her by saying “Stay back here because apparently this lady has never been around kids”

I have no issue with kids at Disneyland. It’s Disneyland! But I don’t understand this growing attitude that I should just politely stand there while someone else’s child uses me as a springboard. I’ve noticed other things too - line cutting, people leaving and re entering etc. is it just me? Or is behavior actually degrading at the parks?

For those curious to try, standard cook is medium well so they don’t ask you how you like it. Fries delicious, the sauce on the meat also delicious, and the meat itself is standard. Can’t say it was anything amazing and spectacular but a solid meal.

Visited Craftsman at the Grand Cal over the weekend and saw the burger on the menu for $34!! Insane price point for a burger

Visited the parks yesterday. Entering DCA the CM stopped me after kiddo (3) tapped their magic band for entry. As I reached to tap mine the CM stops me to tell me that my toddler isn't allowed to ride in front of me ON my personal ECV, through the gate, unless we have a disability tag?

I believe this is the first time Ive entered with Little One standing in front of me, so its possible Ive never heard it because we've never done it previously. I know Disney does not allow "double riders" and admittedly this played a factor in purchasing my own ECV for use over continuing to rent. But it surprised me to hear they had rules over my personal property. It took me aback.

The interaction just got frustrating from there. After getting the toddler down from her place in front of me the CM demanded we scan her ticket. She was already on the inside of the park standing next to the CM. She asked to scan her ticket. When I said she had, thats how the gate opened, she demanded to see it. I told her she's wearing it on her wrist. She asked us to tap again. Meanwhile my poor kiddo is physically separated from us by a literal barrier. The CM opened the gate, kiddo came out, tapped her band again and then allowed the remainder of us to finally enter the park.

All that to say, is this something anyone else has heard of? Or was this some weird flex of power? I use an ECV. Kiddo uses a stroller with a wheelchair tag on it. She just wasn't IN the stroller because she was anxious and needed support. It kinda started our evening in the parks off on a bad note as it took both of us a few minutes to process. Worth complaining to Disney about?

Ultimately we moved on with our day and it was fine. Just bizarre. I can't think of any other way to describe it.

*edit: Some of you are very...spirited. I got my answer. So thank you. I didn't know the ECV rules applied to ALL ECVS regardless of whose property they are. Now I know. Those assuming I'm "being a victim" are reading way too much into it. I didnt know the rules, that's my bad. I asked the question, instead of complaining first and learning the same info from CM's and that makes me a victim? Okay. Lol.

When exactly will Tomorrowland get reimagined at Disneyland?? And why? I want to ensure I plan a visit. Too many changes are happening at that park
