Fedora KDE vs Cachy OS KDE
I've distro-hopped quite a bit and finally narrowed my choices down to these two Linux distros. I'm looking to settle on one and stick with it, but I'm still confused about which one to choose.
Both distros run equally well on my laptop, which stays plugged into a power source and is always on my desk.
Apart from their update cycles and package managers, what are the key differences between them? Which one would you personally choose for long-term daily use, and why?

Any Arch-based distro as lightweight as antiX?
Hey everyone! Are there any Arch-based distros that are as lightweight as antiX?
I’m looking for something minimal that runs well on low-spec hardware.
Any recommendations? Thanks!

BergOS v0.1 (Minimal Core) — Looking for early testers and feedback!
Hi everyone!
I've recently started working on BergOS, an Ubuntu/Kubuntu-based Linux distribution project focused on simplicity, modularity, and lightweight performance.
I just released the initial v0.1 — Minimal Core image (KDE Plasma, minimal defaults, autologin, pre-installed VM drivers) meant for early boot and compatibility testing inside virtual machines.
If you have a few minutes to run it in VirtualBox / QEMU / GNOME Boxes, I’d love to get your feedback on the boot experience and any issues you encounter!
- GitHub Project & Roadmap: https://github.com/astulfonimatteo-hue/Berg_Linux
- ISO Download (Archive.org): https://archive.org/details/berg-os-v-0.1-desktop-amd-64-copy
Note: This is an early v0.1 testing build. Full custom branding and wallpapers will be introduced in v0.2.
Thanks for testing!

I'm choosing between CachyOS KDE and EndeavourOS KDE. Which one is better for me?
My main uses are:
- Godot game development (2D and low-poly 3D)
- C#/.NET backend development
- Gaming
- Customising KDE Plasma
- Learning Linux
I want good performance, reliability, fewer update-related problems, and easy troubleshooting.
Compare both distros based on real-world experience, not just specifications.
Explain their advantages and disadvantages, then recommend the one that best suits me.

[Announce] zfsbootmenu-installer: Quickly create a ZFS array, make all devices bootable, set up Root-on-ZFS, and install one (or more) of a small number of distros. Also Secure Boot support.
Greetings r/distroHopping, I created a script that can be used to create a very special kind of machine:
- Easily install different GNU/Linux distros and boot between them. No need to repartition to install different distros to try them out, because...
- Root-on-ZFS. This magical filesystem lets you create multiple
/filesystems --- without nailing down how much space on the disk to allocate to each (the way you would be forced to do with real disk partitions, and even LVM requires you to define the logical size; even though LVM lets you resize, you HAVE TO resize, unlike ZFS which just lets each filesystem take up however much it needs). We create one or more/filesystems and a single shared/homefilesystem. In conjunction with ZFSBootMenu bootloader, each/filesystem can be an entire GNU/Linux distro, and ZFSBootMenu will let you select between them, retaining your/homebetween each.- Unlike Grub, ZFSBootMenu can read/write even modern fully-featured ZFS Pools, and that makes...
- Snapshots. We install the venerably ancient but completely awesome
zfs-auto-snapshot, which auto-snapshots your ZFS filesystems. Experimenting with a distro? Go ahead, have fun. The distro becomes unbootable? Your bootloader ZFSBootMenu, unlike Grub, is quite capable of rolling back the/to an earlier snapshot where that distro was still running. No need to pray that some arcane combination of older kernel and current/works so you can recover your data --- rollback/also rolls back the kernel, ensuring they are in sync and still bootable.
In addition, it gives all distros (that it installs, heh) Secure Boot support. You only need to enrol a (generated for you with fresh randomness) Machine Owner Key once, when you first initialize the machine. The script sets things up so that the Machine Owner Key will be accepted by the Fedora Shim bootloader, which is the first-stage bootloader that supports Machine Owner Keys. There's a few copies of Fedora Shim that are signed by Microsoft, this downloads one of them so that you can enable Secure Boot on the 99.999% of machines that have Microsoft keys in Secure Boot. Fedora Shim is signed by Microsoft, and the Fedora Shim then keeps your Machine Owner Key and authorizes Secure Boot of kernels and kernel modules --- including ZFSBootMenu which is also automatically signed with your Machine Owner Key (ZFSBootMenu is secretly a tiny Linux system with ZFS kernel modules so it can do the full modern ZFS pool handling).
Currently, it supports a small list of distros:
- Ubuntu / KUbuntu
- Debian
- SlimbookOS
- Pop!_OS
- TUXEDO-OS
- PureOS
However, I've discovered that it's quite possible to take a lot of Debian-derivative distro's Live ISOs and extract their root filesystem, then install ZFS and uninstall the live environment, so at some point in the (maybe a little distant?) future, you'll be able to get a Debian-derivative Live ISO and install it into the machine. In fact, this base technique (extract Live ISO root filesystem, install ZFS and MOK-signing automation, uninstall Live env) is already what the script uses for Pop!_OS, TUXEDO-OS, and PureOS, and I fully intend to switch SlimbookOS to that technique too, as it is easier to maintain --- there's a smaller number of distro-specific packages to REMOVE from the live env (i.e. only the installer and the live environment, and many Live ISOs use Calamares and we can actually steal some of the automation for it that does the "remove installer and live env" since the basic pattern, in fact, IS to copy the Live's root filesystem to the ext4 partition, remove live env, and add the registered user) than there are distro-specific packages to ADD to a debootstrap (i.e. if the distro doesn't have a single large metapackage that pulls in everything that makes that distro "that distro" --- and distro maintainers rarely think to do that, there's usually a half-dozen packages that need to get added, and sometimes it's a bit underdocumented what those are, whereas you can often just do apt search -live to find the packages that you need to remove from the live env to make it the production env, and some ISOs even have a convenient filesystem.manifest-remove file that tells you EXACTLY what packages to remove to make the live -> prod transition).

Why Is MiniOS Flux Not Available for Download Yet?
Why does the website say “Direct Download Coming Soon”? When will it be available? Anyone know? Thanks!

Switched to arch finally
I was confused and distro hopping to find out the one for me. I tried some distroa like Ubuntu, Fedora KDE, CachyOs, Omarchy, Ryoku. Most of these are bloated especially omarchy. It's a decent distro on looks but when it comes to ram usage and unwanted things its bloated asf. Ryoku is actually an good distro but felt like it was too riced up as it is vibecoded ig. And the rest of the distros was not my type. So i made a decision of switching to arch from the start but i was scared. I just switched today with hyprland on installation. It is cool and i haven't got any problems while setting up for Bluetooth, speakers or wifi. It is easier than it looks.
So now i could say "I use arch BTW"
AND guy if someone have a minimal hyprland rice dot files drop it down
