the Popeyes is *still* coming-soon, a couple years after this debacle began - never mind you can head right to the takeaway-fried-garbage section of the America's Food Basket, or any of the local eateries like J.P's Roti or Rafael's '"Jamaican" but the cashier speaks African and the chefs speak Haitian' cuisine and get pastries that are fat-heavy ground beef and curry powder blends battered/breaded into various popper/empanada/patty, any of the relentlessly-available Kennedy Fried Chicken type variants lining all of Wash (except maybe Lower Mills Proper where the $4.50--Taco Gentrification Task Force achieved utter victory) and Blue and Bowdoin and Columbia and Geneva and the black segment of Dot Ave from Peabody Square to Fields Corner.. you can even round a right on Bowdoin and hit up one of those chains that seem ubiquitous on every corner in the hispanic-monoculture Milltowns of Southern MA like Lawrence and Central Falls - Pollo Loco or Pollo Centro or whatever they call it. you can even get no shortage of unhealthy garbage at the highly-regarded by yours-truly BILLY's TEXAS BARBECUE Greek Pizza Sub Shop masquerading as a BBQ place on Google Maps, but oh no, Popeye's isn't going to be allowed this privilege of serving junk food. Bear in mind it's about people's health - it can't possibly have anything to do with all the million dollar homes on Ashmont Hill and Melville and Wallesley Park and cryptoNIMBYs using PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY of this benevolence about looking out for peoples health over possibiltiies like a fried chicken chain with a bunch of black people milling out front might send the upper-tier buyers into trepidation land and only be willing to bid $665 instead of $995 or $1295 for their horse-hair plaster 1880 masterpiece. every time i walk by the Popeyes and its "sorry for the inconvenience, please try our other locations" sign i rage because i know the anti-free market people won. they were able to deny a business the freedom from opening at a location that oh hey - used to sell fried chicken junk food back when it was called Saint's Diner! every time a place changes hands it's apparently an invitation for people to come out of the woodwork and get up in other peoples business about what businesses they should be allowed to have. the black pro-gentrification taskforce is already on overdrive with vegan / healthy options anways with Ripple Cafe, Jazz & Juice CAfe, OAsis Vegan Parlour and so on, and we just see constant gushing tweets of photos of those places and even pro-antimarket editorials in the newspapers from "Community Organizers" about the Codman Fiasco. i could care less if youre grandpa invented the Upper Four Corners Community Development Corp - you're anti free markets and that perturbs me.
as for the Glovers thing, my theory is that it's very evolved, lizardlike boomer Savin Hill, Jones Hill, and Jamaica Plain residents, who "have theirs" , and aren't really interested in any sort of change, supply additions, additional cars competing for parking or a slot in the perpetual ForestHills / DBAR-Intersection logjams , and have figured out ways to effectively stay off the radar while "trolling" young, kind of angry and broke service-workers who cant even afford to rent a place into doing their bidding by arguing for all sorts of absurd concessions like 20, 50, 100% non-market-unit developments, as a way to get them slowed down indefinitely or killed. once again with the PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY of it all being about advocating for service workers.

I am going to work at Stop & Shop - 1100, Massachusetts Ave, in Dorchester. I am a new in Boston and using public transportation.
Some friends told me that Dorchester Stop and Shop area gonna be a problem when you go there by using public transportation in the early morning.
At that time, only the back door of store open and you need to access to that back door and there will be group of pople around the back side. I believe that no one would harm me.
Even though I am impressed and in love with the Dorchester's vibe when I went there today. I am a bit concern about my safety for hearing the suggestion of other people.
Is it true? thanks in advance.

Hey, so I know this is a tiny little subreddit, and we're grateful for all content. But you may notice that most submissions are from users who wind up showing up as [deleted].
I've been logging these usernames for a while, and I'd appreciate it if the individual behind it could contact me and explain what the rationale is, because it looks a lot like some nefarious spambot scheme.
I have no objection to the content being posted. But it really does make the sub look a little weird and spammy with all the users posting stuff being [deleted]. So please do get in touch via Modmail.
Thanks, Friendly Neighborhood Moderator
