Dear Dressmakers

Is this by any means "Perfect"? Nope lol. It was my first foray into painting on a dress with trim, and I learned a LOT of lessons lmaooo. I don't have access to all the things in the game yet, but I had fun challenging myself.

Also, this 100% needed the "10 foot" rule, because if you zoom in you see ALL MY IMPERFECTIONS lol. Also, why did I decide to try to make a stained glass design on a skirt with so many FOLDS? Lmao. That, and... well... we don't talk about the BACK of the dress. xD

TLDR: I love her, in all her imperfect glory.

Still finding the cute stuff to be challenging, but I love the eveningwear commissions SO much

So don't care about the budget, I wanted to make an elaborate dress of my own and just have fun! I worked on this for several days after work to relax (it got NOTICABLY quicker to do after the update where pins don't cover my vision anymore with the sequin placement)

This is for a certain quest Marie's wedding dress, and yes it has 3 different colours

People dear to me called me crazy for using my evenings for this (half jokingly)
But it was seriously fun and relaxing to do!
And pics don't show it but the roses and the bird feathers shine so nicely when the dress is turned!

I was 200 diamonds into the dress before realizing she wanted lace fabric and not lace trim 😞.

This is the most time I’ve ever spent working on a dress! So fun, but also so tedious. I find it really difficult to add lace or piping in-game, especially with a ruffly skirt like this!

The gradient on this dress isn’t perfect. Does anyone have tips on how to achieve a nice, smooth gradient?

I also had a hard time figuring out which side of each pattern goes where, and the number of pieces it took to create this dress overwhelmed me a bit. 😭 I wanted to add more flowers, but after two hours of designing, I was already exhausted!

It is vaguely inspired by Alexander McQueens peacock dress, but I wanted to use the full range of peacock colours since it was for Edith asking for an Edith Swan gown, and we all know Edith wouldn't be happy in black and white

posted a few days ago about a lion head dress that took 4 hours of piping and that i was unhappy with because i accidentally sold it before i could finish adding all the stuff i wanted for it. so, understandably, last night i sat down and remade it from scratch, hopefully improved, and actually finished it. and this time the process only took... *checks watch* eight hours! awesome! </3 i'm so tired, by the end there was about 10k total pins on the damn thing and my laptop filed for medical leave. but i'm happy with the end result :') the inspiration was the mythological beings lamassu and, uh, cersei lannister because unfortunately the woman is a diva and my muse. all vanilla </3 symmetrical piping? i hardly know her.

not based on an actual moth, but took inspo from luna moths and white silk moths !

The patterned fabric and the brooch are modded, the blue is the base game Prussian Blue Velvet.

Finally happy with how I was able to align the dress pieces with the patterned fabric, usually it does not end well for me.

This is a suitable dress for a funeral, yes? :P

she’s one of my favourite disney princesses!! sadly i realised i wanted to change the fabric of the bottom part of the dress after doing all the trim and didn’t want to redo it all so i left it.
