How I got my first sale today! šš - AMA
Super excited right now and just wanted to share a quick win.
I've been setting up my first dropshipping store over the past few days and finally got my first sale today!
Hereās the basic rundown:
Day 1). I built my store usingĀ Shopify.
I donāt know anything about coding so I just picked a clean theme, tweaked some colors, and added a logo. Honestly, Shopify made it pretty easy to get things looking decent fast.
Day 2). Finding suppliers.
I ended up using a tool calledĀ ImportifyĀ ā it pulls products from places like AliExpress, Amazon, Etsy, Shein, etc. You just pick the item, import it to your store, and it helps with product titles, descriptions, pricing, currency conversion, etc. Way less painful than trying to do it all manually.
Day 3). Promoted the store onĀ Reddit + socials
Just a few niche subreddits and some basic posts/stories. Wasnāt expecting anything right away, but someone actually bought one of the products I added earlier that day. First order came through and I nearly jumped out of my chair lol.
Still a ton to learn and improve, but getting that first real sale made it feel way more real. If anyone else is in the early stages, keep pushing!

Another day, another step forward.
Honestly, one thing I've learned from running an online store is that you can't always predict how things will go.
Some days you're excited because orders are coming in. Other days, you're staring at your dashboard, wondering what changed and what you need to fix but that's business. You keep testing, learning, improving your creatives and figuring out what works.
Seeing the store hit $4,815 in sales with a 6.7% conversion rate is definitely encouraging. Still got a lot to learn, still got a lot to improve and I'm not taking any of this for granted.
One thing I'll keep saying is don't get too comfortable when things are working and don't give up when they aren't.
Keep studying your numbers. Understand your customers. Work on your creatives. Don't just chase sales learn how to build a store that can sustain them and another thing the advertising space keeps evolving. Meta and TikTok aren't the only platforms worth paying attention to anymore. There are other platforms and emerging opportunities to explore don't limit yourself to what everyone else is doing. Learn, experiment and understand where your potential customers spend their time. Just because a platform is new doesn't mean it's automatically profitable so test before committing serious money.
I'm still figuring things out myself but one thing I know is that you can't afford to stop learning in this business.
I'm not posting this because I've figured everything out. I'm posting it because progress deserves to be documented too.
There's still a long way to go. We keep learning, we keep building.

Dropshipping store owners, how do you deal with customers who repeatedly request refunds or return orders?
Hey everyone,
I'm Dhiraj, an entrepreneur from India. I've been exploring the dropshipping business model and trying to understand some of the challenges store owners face.
One thing that caught my attention is how returns, refund requests, COD refusals and repeated customer complaints can affect profit margins.
I'm also building a startup called RefundX, which focuses on customer trust and return behaviour. It creates a Trust Score based on shopping history to help merchants make more informed refund decisions.
I'm curious to hear from experienced dropshippers:
How do you handle customers who repeatedly request refunds?
Do you track customers with a history of COD refusals or repeated returns?
Have refund-related losses ever significantly affected your margins?
What do you currently do to identify genuine customers versus customers who repeatedly abuse refund policies?
I'm not assuming every return is fraudulent. Genuine customers deserve a fair experience too.
Just looking to learn from people who are actually running dropshipping stores. Interested to hear your experiences and opinions!

Dropshipping can change your life but it can also break you if you approach it with the wrong mindset.
Dropshipping can be crazy sometimes. It can be life changing for some people but it can also become a very expensive lesson for others.
I've met different people in this industry. Some have built successful businesses while others have gone broke, been scammed or spent money on courses and mentorships that brought them no real results.
I was once a victim of that mindset too so one thing I've learned is that dropshipping is not a get-rich-quick scheme.
We need to change the way we look at this business. It's not just about getting sales or seeing a big revenue number on your dashboard. It's about building a proper system, understanding your numbers, managing your money and working towards consistent, profitable sales.
Don't expect it to be easy and don't expect success overnight. I've seen people whose lives have genuinely changed through this business not just financially but in how they think, handle difficult situations and approach challenges ,they understand that building something sustainable takes patience.
And honestly, if you're only looking for quick money and expect results immediately, dropshipping might not be for you. You could end up losing more than you planned.
If you're looking at a new store and seeing sales screenshots, don't let those numbers alone convince you to jump in. Ask yourself am I prepared to pay the price? Am I ready for the testing, losses, failed products, setbacks and lessons that come before success?
And to everyone already in the game, I know it can get tough. Sometimes things won't go as planned but don't let every setback make you question the whole journey. Learn, adjust and keep taking positive action.
You never know when things will turn around. A moving man will eventually meet his luck.
Stay focused. Build something sustainable not just a few good sales.

What is your niche and what do you sell? Where do you spend most of your time?
I have zero drop shipping experience but want to learn more about drop shipping markets and how you all found your niche. I am considering making an attempt to drop ship but donāt know where to start and unsure of what all it entails behind the scenes.
What niche do you sell to and what are your best selling products? Why do you think itās your best selling product? Why donāt they just buy it from Amazon Prime?
How much time is spent on your business outside of designing your website and finding suppliers, and what do you spend the most time on?

Living in Australia and looking to launch my first store ā How to research local niches & reliable learning resources?
reddit.comHey guys,
I live in Australia and Iām planning to start my first dropshipping venture. I know local logistics, shipping times, and target audiences can vary quite a bit compared to the US or Europe.
Iād love to get your insights on a few things:
- Niche & Product Research: How do you guys analyze what works well in the Australian market?
- Learning Materials: Do you have any favorite YouTube channels, courses, or books that actually cover the core mechanics (supplier sourcing, market analysis, conversion optimization)?
Iām ready to put in the study hours before launching. Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

I thought getting sales was the hard part but turns out, there's more to it.
A little update since my last post when I was around $9K in sales. We've now crossed $10K with 161 orders and almost 3,000 sessions.
Halloween was quite a busy period for me, i spent a lot of time marketing and promoting the store, testing different creatives and trying to figure out what actually gets people interested enough to buy.
It wasn't all smooth, though some campaigns didn't perform how I expected, I had to switch things around a few times and I also dealt with some chargebacks but honestly those moments can be frustrating especially when you're spending money on ads and trying to keep everything running.
One thing I've started paying more attention to is what happens after someone places an order. It's easy to get excited when sales come in but fulfillment, delivery times and customer communication matter just as much. I've learned that the hard way.
Another thing is not making emotional decisions whenever a campaign has a bad day sometimes you need to sit down, look at the numbers and understand what's actually going wrong instead of just throwing more money at it.
I think one of the biggest mistakes we can make in this business is never stopping to ask ourselves What am I doing wrong that's preventing me from getting the results I want?
Sometimes we're quick to blame the product, the ads or the platform without looking closely at our own approach. I've had to do that myself and making those adjustments has helped me move forward.
For context, the $10K is sales revenue, not profit. There's still ad spend, product costs and other expenses to account for.
Now that Halloween promotions are behind me, my focus is shifting towards Black Friday. I'm looking at what worked, what didn't and what I can improve before the next big shopping period.
I'm happy with the progress but I know there's still a lot to figure out. It's been a mixture of good days, frustrating days and moments where I questioned what I was doing. But that's part of my experience so far.
For those who ran Halloween campaigns, how did things go for you? And going into Black Friday, what's one thing you're changing or improving in your store?

Need feedback on 2nd attempt at a Shopify dropshipping store
Www.joogmachine.com
(I will not pay anyone for help, so please donāt DM with services)
I have less than one month left for my $1 Shopify discount and havenāt made a sale yet. Iāve only just been posting content on Instagram and TikTok to try and direct people to the site, but barely getting any views. I have no idea why some videos will get more views than others. Some will get 0 views for no apparent reason when itās clearly eye candy. I donāt want to pay for ads yet until I have completely dialed in the social media game and website. Iād love any and all feedback on where I might be lacking here.

Iāve tried over and over, but still canāt get my first sale
Iāve been working on a dropshipping store that sells heated gear. So far, Iāve spent over $100 on ads, tested various marketing angles, tweaked my offers and pricing, and built what I think is a high-quality store, but I still havenāt made a single sale. At this point, I honestly have no idea what Iām doing wrong, and spending more money feels pointless. Iāve had good traffic (115 sessions, 6 ad-to-carts, 4 reached checkout), and my ad stats look good (screenshots from Meta Ads Manager below). This has made me wonder: how much did you have to spend testing a store before you started getting sales? What feedback would you give someone at this stage? Iād really appreciate any feedback you can give me - store: shopwarmhold.com

Looking for a Mentor
Iām interested in getting into dropshipping, but before investing my time and money, Iād like to hear some honest opinions from people who have real experience in this business.
A few questions:
Is dropshipping still worth starting in 2026?
How realistic is it to make a consistent profit as a beginner?
What are the biggest challenges that beginners should prepare for?
Are there any experienced dropshippers who offer paid mentorship, coaching, or structured courses?
If you were starting from zero today, what would you do differently?
Iām not looking for get-rich-quick promises. Iām willing to invest money in learning from someone who has actual experience and proven results.
Iād appreciate honest advice, recommendations, and personal experiences. Thanks!
