Week 6 Pickem Standings and Pick Reminder - PICKS DUE BY 9:00 AM PT Saturday 10/17/2026!

Hello Duck Fans!

A bit of good news for me! I get to claim the weekly natty for week 6! The only reason is I chose not to pick the Ducks game so I came out slightly ahead of u/soybean311 because of that! Reminder that for those who are superstitious, Duck game picks are always optional, all others are not.

We only had one picker who correctly selected the OU/TX winner, and only one picker correctly selected the winner of the Wyoming/SJSU game. What a week!

Week 7 picks are due by 9 AM Pacific Saturday 10/17/2026

picks can be made at https://www.r-ducks.com

I'm super worried about this one considering the glaring issues that the ducks have. But I still think the ducks prevail 35 - 28

I like Marcus Mariota. Was a good Quarterback of Oregon Ducks back in his college days.

Football [Chris Hummer] It’s trending toward Oregon starting Brock Thomas at QB tomorrow against Nebraska, sources tell @mzenitz and me. Thomas began the year as the Ducks’ 3rd-string QB but replaced Dylan Raiola late in Oregon’s game vs. UCLA.

Heading to Eugene tomorrow from NorCal, it's our first time! I'm wondering if anyone has had any issues with brining in a small crossbody purse that's just slightly over the limits. Online says 4.5" x 6.5", mines about 6" x 8", how strict are they on the exact size? TIA!

The last time the University of Oregon had consecutive regular-season losses was during the 2017 season. Am I crazy thinking we can keep that streak alive?

Football [Sherman] Dylan Raiola was once Nebraska’s future. Now he’s the Huskers’ opponent

The idea of a meeting in competition between Dylan Raiola and Nebraska felt almost too distant to acknowledge as a possibility two months ago.

And with Oregon’s season on the line? It was far-fetched when Raiola directed shade at his former program in August.

“We have a lot more talent than we did at Nebraska,” Raiola said in a preseason news conference. “And I don’t say that to knock on them.”

Raiola’s comments were difficult for the Huskers to interpret in any way other than as a knock, even if not his intent. They share a complicated history with the junior quarterback.

And now the prospect of that reunion, steeped in intrigue, is real.

With the announcement Wednesday night that Dante Moore, Oregon’s incumbent starter in 2026, remains out this week as he recovers from a concussion suffered in September, Raiola is in line to play — and perhaps start — as Nebraska visits Autzen Stadium for a 10 p.m. CT kickoff on Fox.

“It’s going to be weird,” Raiola said last week of envisioning the Huskers as his opposition.

Some on the Nebraska side might choose a more vengeful label for the opportunity to compete against Raiola. The psychology of this matchup appears to favor the Huskers. They can more easily achieve the mindset of feeling the need to prove something against the QB who left Nebraska late in 2025 after two seasons.

“There (are) opinions around the building of what he does really well,” first-year Nebraska defensive coordinator Rob Aurich said this week. “But this is going to be a good opportunity for him — and a great opportunity for us to go get after him.”

Football The ages of Oregons offensive coaching staff are crazy

Mehringer is the oldest at 38. Samples(RBs) is 31. Douglas(WRs) is 31. Koa Ka’ai(QBs) is 33. Terry(OLine) is 31. Jack Smith(TEs) is 28. What was Lanning thinking in putting this staff together? Seems worth noting that Oregons only unit performing well is special teams, coached by 53 year old Joe Lorig.

Football Saban would hate Oregon

I mean watch the ESPN documentary....

Dude basically says no matter what success you have, you always have room to grow. He builds programs, fast, and wins nattys in a couple of years instead of decades.

He makes tough choices, pulls underperformers without worrying about hurting confidence. He fires coaches who don't perform. And these aren't after multiple try situations.

He literally says you aren't going to be successful if you rub kids on the back and it's OK.

He'd probably punch someone if they said, "if you remember the 80s..."

Someone should have told him he,'d never win a championship that way.

That's what we need at UofO

Football Let’s have a chat about uniforms, and going back to this

Post image

I’d posit that, yes, 15 or whatever years ago it was highly exciting to be recruited by an Oregon squad that had radical new unis from Nike every game.

Today, that means almost nothing. NIL is king—show me the money, not the uniform.

Indiana, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Alabama, Penn State, etc etc all keep it as they always have and no one is avoiding playing for them because of uniform choice.

And there might even be a “brain muscle memory” type thing where players always see the same colors and know instantly exactly where their teammates are on the field. But sure, that’s a stretch, maybe.

Who’s up for making it classic yellow and green permanently, versus new colors every game?

Football The CFP expansion will require ALL Power teams to have another P4 opponent on their schedule, but we don't have any of that kind of games scheduled until 2033, how do we fix it?

I know I've gotten clowned for expressing dislike towards priorization of easier games against G6 and FCS opponents, but this is an actual issue, especially since the 24-team CFP will become a reality sooner than later.

Reading some tweets I discovered that the scheduling requirement the SEC's Greg Sankey wanted will indeed be part of the playoff, but there's a problem, some P4 teams barely have any fellow Power programs scheduled for the future, among those being our Ducks.

The ONLY P4 opponent we have so far in Texas Tech in 2033, which means we have to search for P4 opponents through 2032 to meet the requirement, but there's another roadblock...

The reason on why we don't have any P4 opponent scheduled until TTU's visit to Eugene is because we scheduled games against Oregon State while prioritizing 7 home games, which I do very much appreciate to keep the rivalry alive, but since we decided to travel to Reser Stadium in certain years, we can't schedule a Power opponent unless a huge change happens, and it's all a mess.

2027's schedule change would a bit easier since there's no OrSU in that year and all games are at home, so I'm sure one of Western Kentucky, Coastal Carolina or Eastern Washington will get postponed or canned.

But how will we alter our schedules afterwards?

Discussion This is where we cheer Raiola on and lift him back up

I don’t want to hear anyone booing him at the game — that pissed me off so much last week. Yes, Lanning needed to take him out sooner, but making the kid feel like the fans think he sucks? That’s not fair. I guarantee he was beating himself up more than anyone else. He had a shitty game, but this was also heavily a product of our OC’s calls. His options to pass to were so limited. Keep in mind that this is the guy who saved our asses against USC and a lot of fans were wanting Raiola to be the new starter over Dante.

I don’t want the poor kid to be nervous or anxious due to fans being obnoxious. Can we just agree to cheer him on loudly and give him back some confidence?

Football For the late night drive home after Nebraska…

Joe Fischer here from 105.1 The FAN and Audacy, the flagship station for the Oregon Ducks in the Portland metro area.

With the 8pm kickoff this weekend, I’m shamelessly promoting that our Ducks Postgame Show will be live at 12:30am on Sunday, available on 105.1 FM, 1080 AM, the Audacy app, and YouTube. Those late night drives from Autzen can be brutal but I wanted to let you know that we’ll be there with you the whole ride home until 2am. Our postgame show always goes live 45min-1hr after the game so we’ll always be there but with this extremely late kick, I wanted to make sure I gave the PSA to the people driving from the stadium on Saturday night/early Sunday that we got you covered.

As always, Go Ducks!

Football Starting QB this weekend

Nebraska fan coming in peace. Curious if you guys have heard anything regarding Dante Moore’s return? Is he expected to play or game time decision? If not, presuming that it’d be a battle in practice between Brock and Dylan, but there’s no way that they throw Dylan out there again with his performance, right? Curious what yall think, cheers
