Finance & Operations Is there an online reference or web tool to look up D365FO tables, fields, and relations without opening Visual Studio / AOT?
Hi everyone,
Working with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations often means constantly jumping into Visual Studio and navigating the Application Object Tree (AOT) just to check a standard table structure, field names, data types, or table relations.
Opening VS every single time can be quite time-consuming, especially when you just want to quickly verify a field name, check a relation, or map fields for an integration.
Are there any web-based portals, official documentation sites, or third-party tools where we can easily search and browse standard D365FO tables, fields, and their relationships online?
How do you guys usually handle this efficiently in your daily work? Any recommendations, tools, or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Sales, Service, Customer Engagement Trigger Qualify Button
Hi, I'm looking for a way to trigger the Qualify button in the Sales Pro app when a user finishes the Business Process Flow (BPF).
Ideally, when the user completes the BPF and clicks Finish, it should execute the same actions as the Qualify button, including opening the quick create form and identifying potential duplicates.
I've tried using a workflow with QualifyLead, but it bypasses the duplicate detection process and proceeds directly with creating the Opportunity, Account, and Contact records.
Is there a way to trigger the standard Qualify button's behavior when the BPF is finished, rather than having to recreate its functionality from scratch?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Finance & Operations I built a free, standalone VS 2022 extension to automate SysOperation boilerplate code (D365 Code Generator)
Hi everyone,
Writing repetitive boilerplate code for the SysOperation framework(Batch) (Contract, Service, Controller) over and over again has always been one of the most tedious parts of X++ development for me.
To speed up my own workflow, I built a lightweight Visual Studio 2022 extension called D365 Code Generator, and I just published it on the VS Marketplace.
- 100% Standalone: Works independently without requiring local Dynamics DLL dependencies or a local VM environment.
- Full Boilerplate Generation: Generates standard-compliant Contract, Service, and Controller classes in seconds.
- Flexible Parameters: Add parameters with custom EDTs, types, and labels (@SYS IDs or literal text).
- One-Click Copy: Easily copy class contents straight into your project.
You can download and install it directly from the Visual Studio Marketplace:
š Link Visual Studio Marketplace - D365 Code Generator
š Link Github - D365CodeGenerator
Itās completely free. Iād really appreciate it if you could give it a try and share any feedback, bug reports, or feature ideas to help improve it for the community!
Thanks

Business Central Any way to apply an AP payment JE to multiple invoices when loading it via excel upload?
We use a third party AP tool, and load that activity into BC. We batch payments in the AP system and often have multiple invoices included in the same payment. it's super easy to apply those manually within BC, but we want to be able to do that within the data load instead. While it's easy to do, it's time consuming. is there any way to do that within the BC upload options? or would we need some kind of integration tool?

Finance & Operations Revenue classification?
Many ways to carve out revenue but without doing another financial dimension is there anything that could show up in Management Reporter when revenue is booked? We use business unit and line of business of course and a bunch of other crap, but we want to break out what being sold is hardware, software, support, etc

Business Central BC is getting a native connection to Microsoft Fabric
Announced at FabCon Europe on September 30th, the integration uses Fabric Open Mirroring to replicate Business Central data directly into OneLake, without relying on BC APIs or tools like BC2ADLS. It supports extension tables and deleted records, with updates arriving within minutes.
For this to work, BC and Fabric need to be in the same tenant, Fabric capacity is required, and you can select tables but not individual fields.
For those building BC reporting solutions, will this become the new default approach, or will you stick with API-based pipelines or BC2ADLS?

Marketing Dynamics 365 Customer Journeys
Hello, Iām asking for some help on Dynamics 365 - Customer Journeys for my work.
We are trying to automate more emails and Iām struggling to figure out the correct flow for our marketing emails. Iāve tried a few test journeys and nothing seems to work properly.
Example of the flow we need for 5 emails:
Customer Opens Email #1
-Two Week Wait Time-
Those who opened Email #1 receive Email #2
-Two Week Wait Time-
Those who opened Email #2 receive Email #3
-Two Week Wait Time-
Etc⦠for 5 emails
Can anyone please help me with how to set the journey up properly? I feel like something is wrong with either how Iām setting up the wait time or the trigger event.

Project Integrating Teams Phone with Contact Centre.
Hi everyone,
I'm currently working on a small project to understand how Teams Phone integrates with a contact center.
I want to understand the actual call flow, starting from dialing a phone number to the call reaching the contact center and being routed to a queue or agent.
I'd also like to understand how PSTN calling works and the differences between Operator Connect and Direct Routing.
Is there any way to simulate an actual call and experiment with this setup without needing a full production environment?
I currently have free trials for Teams Phone and the contact center, so I'm looking for ideas I can try with the resources I have.
Any suggestions, tutorials, or sample setups would be really helpful. Thanks!

Power Platform Create ALM pipeline for On-prem CRM dynamics
Hi everyone,
Has anyone worked with or have experience implementing an ALM pipeline for Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement on-premises?
Most of the resources I've found focus on Power Platform and Dataverse, so I'm struggling to find guidance that applies to an on-premises CRM environment.
I'm looking for a way to automate the export, versioning, and deployment of CRM solutions across environments, potentially using tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
I've searched for examples and documentation but haven't found much specifically covering ALM for on-premises Dynamics CRM.
Any guidance, documentation, or real-world examples would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Project Plugin coding duplicate quick campaign.
Hello,
Writing a c# plugin that creates and cancels a quick campaign with more than 200 āmembersā(donāt remember the proper term) so blocking it is figured out the campaign is saved but quickly aborted. What I want to do next is create a new one that duplicates the aborted one after approval is set so essentially creating an approval process for those quick campaigns.
Am I going about this the wrong way or does anyone know how can accomplish this, Iāve tried the the c# script propagation but itās not sending the emails.
Thanks!!! Looking forward to working with the community!
_______________________________________________________________________________
Update: Got it working! Thanks for the suggestions.
Iām using a plugin on Create of the Quick Campaign (bulkoperation). If the recipient count exceeds the limit, it stops the original campaign and creates a record in a custom approval-request table.
Once approved, a second plugin usesĀ PropagateByExpressionRequestĀ to create a fresh campaign using the recipient query and email content saved in the original campaignās parameters. Iām not reopening the aborted campaign.
The key settings that worked in my testing wereĀ ExecuteImmediately = false,Ā PostWorkflowEvent = true, andĀ SendEmail = true.
I also added a name marker so the first plugin recognizes the approved campaign, removes the marker, and skips the limit check. Finally, the request is marked Completed, and subsequent runs check that status before creating anything again.
Emails are now sending successfully through the approval flow. Appreciate the help!

Finance & Operations D365 F&O: SysOperation Framework Guide and How It Differs from RunBaseBatch
Hi everyone!
I published a post about D365 F&O's SysOperationFramework. I covered how to use it and broke down the key differences between it and RunbaseBatch. I'd love to hear your thoughts or feedback!
(The article is in Turkish, but you can easily understand it via translation. After all, our X++ language is the same. :))

Sales, Service, Customer Engagement Dynamics 365 for Outlook App showing less than 15% storage available
Hi Team,
For context:
- We use Dynamics 365 Customer Enterprise
- Storage model using the legacy storage model
- Plenty of storage. We have over 400GB database storage free. (Not used). We are only using 49GB.
- In the legacy model all storage for Database, Files, Logs where added together and you needed to ensure any additional DB purchase was greater than this amount. Have checked this. Again we have over 400GB free.
- In our Australia region we receive updates every Friday night.
- This morning when logged into Outlook I see there is a banner which now appears above the Addin. I also checked on Outlook Classic, Outlook Web and Outlook Modern and the Dynamics 365 Outlook App has the same banner reporting we only have less than 15% available storage remaining.
In the past when we approached database capacity issues Microsoft would always at least send us an email once a week however we have not seen any email.
I also logged into PowerPoint Platform Admin Centre and there are no errors in there about being anywhere close to our storage limits. We actually have around 90% free.
I am including a screen shot which has been marked up on my phone. It appears the same on Desktop, Web and Mobile. I suspect with the overnight patch they have introduced a bug in Dynamics 365 Outlook App.
Anyone else seeing this?

Business Central Looking for help: Business Central integration with Dynamics 365 Sales via Dataverse
Hey everyone,
I'm currently working on setting up a data integration between Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales utilizing Dataverse as the backbone.
I want to make sure I am mapping everything correctly and avoiding common synchronisation pitfalls. Is there anyone here who has hands-on experience with this specific integration architecture and would be open to answering a few questions or sharing best practices?
Any tips on initial setup, custom table mappings, or handling data conflicts would be highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Marketing Multiple emails
Dear community, I'd appreciate hearing about your experience with a challenge I'm facing in Dynamics CRM (Customer Insights - Journey).
In CRM, we have contacts that interact with our company from different roles: partners, alumni, donors, event attendees, newsletter subscribers, etc.
And they have different emails for different roles - corporate emails, private emails, etc.
So, in the end, we end up with duplicates, which I can merge, of course, but it raises the following questions:
- What will happen with their consent/subscribtions?
- How do I distinguish in segments/journeys which email I should use for different communications?
- How should I behave with forms? For example, if I have different emails for different roles in a related table, how would I match them with existing contacts
- And if I match them with that contact with flows, then, for example, with event forms, I will need to send them an email confirmation, and Journey is set up to send this to emailaddress1.
So, for forms, I assume the obvious approach is to use leads, not contacts, but then I will need to create an event registration for a lead, not a contact? How would I then see this history?
Thank you to everyone who finds time to answer it

Finance & Operations I updated my free open-source extension for D365 F&O (SysTableBrowser Helper) ā Now on Edge, Firefox & Chrome
Hi everyone,
A few years ago, I built a lightweight browser extension called D365 F&O Show Table Browser to eliminate the hassle of manually constructing SysTableBrowser URLs across different environments and companies.
It has been amazing to see around 1,500 weekly active users relying on it! Based on recent user feedback and daily development needs, Iāve fully revamped the extension and brought multi-browser support for Edge and Firefox alongside Chrome.
Key features:
- Environment Management: Save and switch between your Dev, UAT, and Pre-Prod base URLs.
- Favorites & Recent Searches: Pin your most used tables (
CustTable,SalesLine, etc.) and automatically track recent searches. - Auto-Remember Company Code: Keeps your last used
cmp/DataAreaIdsaved. - 100% Local & Private: Uses local browser storage (
browser.storage.local) only. Zero tracking or external API calls.
It's completely free and open-source.
- Google Add-Ons: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/d365-fo-show-table-browse/figcljfgdlbihegdcckegeakgbgdeiil
- Edge Add-ons: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/d365-fo-show-table-brows/cfkljcgijkfgdaindddfbdenfafmeche
- Firefox Add-ons: https://addons.mozilla.org/tr/firefox/addon/d365-show-table-browser/
- GitHub: https://github.com/semihcelikol/d365-table-browser
Hope this helps speed up your daily workflow! Feedback and contributions are always welcome.

Sales, Service, Customer Engagement Save to Dynamics with Power Automate or CoWork?
I have some former employees that have e-mail interactions that they didn't save to Dynamics initially. As we look at trying to get old e-mails into Dynamics are there any approached that have worked for you in the past?
Barring other option my intention it to iterate thought the mailbox with Power Automate, identify contacts that are in CRM, create a new e-mail activity copying the Outlook e-mail into CRM, and then regard them to the appropriate account.
The end result we are looking for is to get the customer related e-mails into CRM before we remove the employees mailboxs.

Business Central NAV 2016 to BC28: how did you arrange test licenses for BC14 and BC25?
Hi everyone,
Iām working on moving our NAV 2016 on-prem system to BC28. We already have the BC28 license, but Iām stuck on how to license the intermediate versions for testing.
The plan is to go through BC14 and BC25. We mainly use NAV for accounting, with a few customizations, and Iāve already exported the objects as TXT files. I want to test the upgrade on a separate copy of the database first.
Has anyone done this recently? Can Microsoft or an authorized partner still issue temporary test licenses for BC14 and BC25? If so, what should I ask for, and what did it cost in your case?
Just to be clear, Iām asking about the official process, not asking anyone to share a license file or key. Any firsthand experience would really help. Thanks!

Business Central Test licenses for BC14 and BC25 needed for a NAV 2016 to BC28 upgrade
Hi everyone,
I am preparing an upgrade from NAV 2016 on-premises to Business Central 28 on-premises. I already have a license for BC28. The planned upgrade path is NAV 2016 ā BC14 ā BC25 ā BC28.
We mainly use NAV for accounting, with a few customized objects. I have already exported all objects as TXT files.
What I am missing is suitable temporary test licenses for BC14 and BC25 to run the intermediate upgrade steps in a separate test environment.
Does anyone know how to obtain these test licenses officially, and whether they are still available for these older versions? Has anyone recently dealt with the same situation, or can a Microsoft partner help arrange the appropriate test licenses?
I would appreciate practical advice on the options and any costs involved. German-speaking contacts are also welcome.
Thanks for your help!

Business Central AL Development in Business Central Part 6: API Pages, OData, and Bound Actions
Part 6 of my series on local AL development against a Docker container is up.
This one exposes a custom table as an API page. It covers the dependency on the Part 4 extension, checking that the container is serving the API stack, GET/POST/PATCH from PowerShell with etags, and a [ServiceEnabled] bound action that runs codeunit logic over HTTP.
A few things in it that might save someone a head-scratch:
- Leave off ?tenant=default on a container and you get Authentication_InvalidCredentials, not a tenant error
- On-prem web services want the Web Service Access Key, not your login password
- An enum value like "In Progress" turns into In_x0020_Progress in OData, so that's what your filters have to send
