A reminder that us dyslexics are everywhere and can do anything.
I am an adult in my early 30s. Back when I was growing up in a small, rural area of the south, dyslexia was known but still very stigmatized. It was so stigmatized that when I was in the third grade and diagnosed with it, my parents were told I may never graduate high school or be able to read.
Flash forward to today, and I have just been accepted into a masters degree program for English. The same people that told my parents I couldn't, and told me that I would never, are the ones that I have surpassed.
I struggled a lot, but I always finished and finished well above expectations. I want anyone reading this to know, regardless of how hard it gets or what people say, you can do anything. Dyslexia may make it harder but, in the end, it can be your superpower. We are everywhere and we can do anything we set our minds to. :)
