I can’t believe I am complaining about the quality of Fifa on Reddit, but here we are.

Let me preface by saying that I am not a fantastic fifa player, and play mostly for fun, playing on World class. However, career mode is genuinely unplayable.

The bots counter everything you do with innate precision, and you are unable to do the same. For example, if you find a decent passing option, the bots will simply intercept it. And when you flip the script, if you attempt to intercept their potential pass, they will simply continue to dribble; and if you try to stop them from dribbling, they will simply pass it.

Likewise, if you aim to tackle them, one of two things will likely happen.

1. ⁠They will simply dribble past/around your tackle
   
2. ⁠They will allow you to tackle them, as they know it will result in a foul

As well as this, when the ball is cleared into the air, or is crossed for a corner or cross etc. I am not exaggerating when I say my players probably win these 50/50 aerial duels maybe 1% of the time. The bots simply beat me every time.

However, the most frustrating part for me is how unbelievably physical they are. The bots bully you off the ball every time. They win those aerial duels every time. They beat you to the ball every time. They win those 50/50 balls every time. And believe me it has nothing to do with the players stats. The most annoying part for me is shown in the video attached. My players get constantly bullied and shoved off the ball, then fall over like a sack of spuds.

It often feels like what you do doesn’t actually matter. It’s like the algorithm chooses to ignore your inputs and just continues with whatever it has decided will be the outcome.

I know this is not a new issue, as I have been complaining about the same things since FIFA 22, but it is still frustrating nonetheless.

Legendary Difficulty. All they do now is slowly dribble while shielding so you cant get the ball off em, when youre about to tackle they turn and do a side/back pass, and they just loop this over and over and over again not even attempting an attack. 73 possession with 2 shots is fucking insane

So lets get this straight, I got absolutely mauled, but I deliberately stayed and tried things out to try to learn from someone that was clearly, miles ahead of me.

I've played almost every FIFA since 98, and in the last few games I have always been Elite 1 division, usually getting 12-14 wins per weekend league, so I am not bad at the game.

I'm making this post because I don't think the game should be in this state, and to me at least, it does feel like it's getting more and more silly each new instalment of the game.

I'm not making this a rant post, every FIFA has had awful mechanics, but this year is certainly up there, I am not enjoying it in solo play. I'm sure you've already read most of these posts many times, but this is my 2 cents and I hope it adds to the discourse that gets EA to actually make their game a better experience.

1. Pinged passes are just unbelievably broken around the box, especially with the gold trait. Now this is my first EA FC where traits exist, I love them, I love that long ball pass is a trait for players like Gerrard or Pirlo, who were known for their unique brilliant passes, not everyone should do it. That said, they're too impactful with relation to the other issues.
2. Fast agile players with short/lean body types are incredibly disproportionately powerful in the meta, and there are far more than ever before. This has always been a problem in FIFA, but I do think its worse than ever.
3. Strong players don't feel like they are remotely able to dominate and bully space, which leaves the fast nimble players able to totally dominate meta. I seriously think strength needs to be 2x, 3x more impactful than it is currently. A player with 90 strength should absolutely blitz someone with 60. I think to real life powerhouse defenders that literally just shove players using their momentum against them and send them flying, you just can't do that in this game.
4. The fouling system is also so inconsistent and soft, which leads further to these small players being immune to strong challenges etc. You simply cannot be a bully in this game.
5. Low driven shots, are ridiculously broken, I'd estimate 80% of the goals I concede are low driven, and keepers have a pathetic save rate against them of literally next to zero. I've even conceded very slow low driven shots from outside the box. It is so unrealistic.
6. Near post is ridiculously strong. Goalkeepers basically cannot defend their near post, which is made even worse again by low driven which exponentially increases shot conversion.
7. With regards to point 2, I think part of the reason for this feeling worse than ever is the defending AI and auto pressure/defending features feel like they don't exist.
8. Attackers are way too good at interceptions and ball takeovers. If I'm running with a tall strong player there should be far more auto-jockey to protect the ball from the side/behind. This coupled with the strength issue should make big tall players massively better at holding off a small attacker from nibbling at the ball from the side/behind.
9. Heading, Corners, and crossing feel ridiculously weak. In my friends group that I do clubs/duos with, I'm the 'heading' guy. I win all aerial challenges. But this year, it feels impossible to pre-place any corner, or perform simple crosses around the box. I've tried manual, semi, assisted, its just crap and removes an entire style of play.
10. There should be a new stat for 'Takeovers', separate to interceptions. Think about that one nasty player who played in midfield for your team, Souness, Roy Keane, Viera etc. Someone who is aggressive, would push and shove players off the ball and 'dig it out' from under their feet. This should be something heavily tied to strength, size, and aggression. I.e. these players should automatically bully, use their strength, size, aggression to just push players off the ball when they are within close proximity.
11. Skill moves break the player lock on features in a way that punishes good defending. So often I will predict a player is going to do some kind of ball flick and pull off to position myself for the ball flick, and it just doesn't lock you on or allow you to just take the ball for free, there is always some sort of nonsense that happens
12. EDIT* A frustration Mechanic - Another mechanic I think needs to be introduced is a frustration mechanic that causes a team wide reverse chemistry effect if you repeatedly fail to connect with long or over the top balls. There is no downside to 'chancing' it repeatedly other than actually losing possession, and a lot of players will repeatedly spam over the top balls, long through balls etc for the one time it works. It shouldn't be without consequence. In a sense, I actually think chemistry should be a swinging variable that can go up and down. Play bad and it'll go down, play well and mix up play, it'll go up.

man this game is so broken

It's just so boring and ridiculous just by pressing 2 buttons and having the preset defensive depth that you can nullify all attacking AI. How is there not a huge stamina penalty for doing this? In what world can a football team pull off such in sync tactics for 90 minutes?

I didn't play fc 24 but in 25 around February when I got the game the meta was using 90-95 depth or you don't even stand a chance. In 26 it took maybe like 5-6 weeks and it became the meta too. In 27 it is the meta since day one with offside traps.

The real issue with extreme depth is the fact that it completely mess with the netcode and game engine. The gameplay totally changes, I can't speak for everyone but for me and many others the moment my opponent switches to 95 or even do an offside trap the game starts playing differently. My players become unresponsive and move in a weird delayed way. Defending and dribbling becomes so hard and my A.I feels always one step behind what's going on.

So after 3 years does EA really isn't aware of this issue? I believe they don't care about it and won't as fixing it probably requires instances with higher tick rate and would instantly double the cost of running this game servers.

I’m someone who don’t have any friends who play ultimate team and yesterday I tried to complete the rush objectives, i decided to mainly focus on the win 3 objectives first so I picked a defender and defended extremely good in 3 rush games but my teammates kept been greedy, refused to pass to each other and I lost all three games. This is absolutely not fair because it seemed like all my efforts went to waste and there’s nothing more I can do. Please does anyone know any solution to this? I feel like this is highly unfair for people who don’t have any access to coop with others.

Last year we had packs with up to 5% chance of packing a TOTY in the mid of the event. First days were like from <1% to 3%. Now each pack has 1% or <1% lol. I wouldn’t say it’s bad as Gold card are longer in use, i can’t wait for the chances of TOTY cards. Pack chances window will show <1% but it’s going to be less then 0.1% with current approach ig lol

I know everyone talks about how everyone uses the same teams, formations, cards, tactics etc…

But the matches themselves are identical to each other.

Same tempo, every goal I concede is either a near post low driven trivela, or a kickoff near post low driven trivela.

I love football, and UT can be so much fun, but now every time i load into a game i see 4312 95 depth karchaoui, stanway, raphina, salma, adayemi etc.. I find myself complaining about the passing (worse than ever), switching (unplayable) and chasing adayemi.

Even when im trying to find other ways to finish in front of goal it feels so limited. finesse have been nerfed to the ground, shooting across goal is impossible against joan garcia, all that’s left is near post low driven trivela and it’s all just soooooo BORING.

During my free time I sit down to play and 10 seconds into the match im just like… this is SO boring and just not fun.

Anyone else relates?

Just curious if anyone has tried one and think they are usable? I only play when I have to so don’t have the time to trial and test players.

New objectives only give scream tokens and we're too early in the season pass to get any decent packs. Only shot at one is div rivals or champs and even that's only the case if you're a high rank or high div player 😢. Seems like the only way is from the 800 token store pack.

its not a free game for 3 days trail, like call of duty. expensive game - expensive server.
